Leo heard his brother cry out in pain and became worried, going right to his side and taking Asher's hand in his own. "Ash? Are you okay?" he said softly, unable to see what was wrong with his brother and hoping it was just a bad dream. He hoped he didn't wake his brother up from his yelling at Daniel, but at the same time he was hoping his brother wasn't straining himself too badly. "Ash, wake up." he said softly, patting his brother's hand to try and wake him up gently.

Asher reached up to wipe his eyes, which were already filling with tears. "R-Raki..." he found himself whimpering. When his eyes were cleared, he realized that he wasn't alone, and that everyone in the room had just witnessed him cry. A bit ashamed, he pulled his blanket over his face. He didn't want to deal with anyone right now.Daniel had to say he was a bit perplexed. He would have expected Asher to be shocked to see him or something, but he had gone ignored. Then again, he just had a nightmare, no doubt involving his long-gone brother. Not to mention it must be embarrassing for the young man to be seen crying.

Leo gave a soft sigh when he heard his brother whimper a little, guessing it was the bad dream he suspected. "Chase, Cherry...can you two give us a minute?" he asked softly, he hadn't asked Daniel to leave the room because he knew the man would refuse. "Ash it's okay...it's just me." he whispered softly, pressing his forehead against his brother's to try and calm him down.

"Leo?" Asher tried to force himself to smile, and now he was even more embarrassed. He was supposed to be the strong one of the two, and yet his little brother had seen him cry. Well, maybe not see him but hear him. "Hehe... Sorry you had to witness that," he said, moving the blanket away. It was just now that he noticed the old man near the bed. The man looked nothing like a doctor. "Uh... Can I help you?"Now Daniel was shocked. Asher was speaking to him as if it was the first time they had met! "Surely you must remember your grandfather. I know it's been years, but I must be a bit recognizable.""Grandfather? I've never had one, as far as I know. Maybe you got the wrong person," Asher said, becoming a little more uncomfortable. The guy seemed dead serious. "I really don't know you."

Leo smiled a little when he heard his brother's voice unmuffled from the blanket. "It's okay, we can only be so strong." he said softly before hanging his head as his brother saw Daniel behind him. Leo gave a soft sigh before looking back at his brother. "His last name is Damican....just like yours." he said softly, but he doubts that would make a difference to Asher.

The familiar name did spark interest, but it wasn't enough. "It doesn't change anything. There are plenty of Damicans," Asher said, he returned his focus to the old man. "Besides, why turn up now? Some grandfather you are, leaving your grandson to be raised by another family. That is, if you really are my grandfather." He honestly hoped the man had made a mistake. If they really were related...It looked like Daniel needed to prove a few things to him. "Are you not Asher Damican? Are your parents not Gerald and Alice, my son and my daughter-in-law?" Asher's shocked face pretty much revealed that Daniel was spot on. "Don't you think I wanted to be the one to raise you? I was away when your parents died, and I couldn't find you no matter how hard I looked. The only reason I'm here now is because of the news." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a chain with a star-shaped pendant there. It was actually a locket, which opened to reveal a picture of the Damican family before the accident. "Is this proof enough?"

Asher's lack of response suggests surprise, and Leo couldn't help but catch on. Leo let go of Asher's hand and looked at his brother. "He wants to take you with him....but I'm not going to let him." he said softly, hoping Asher would refuse just as Leo was refusing for him. But just as he thought before, how could Leo stop his brother if Ash did want to go with his grandfather, he couldn't deny Asher his own family. This was just going the total opposite than Leo wanted.

"Ah, yes, that's right. I hope you would come with me, so we can catch up on lost years," said Daniel. "I'll be sure you lack nothing, and you can always visit young Leo if need be." It seemed implied that Leo was alone, but it did not seem likely. Surely he had parents or relatives that Daniel could talk to and discuss Asher's custody with.The answer was supposed to be obvious, but Asher was rather conflicted. Of course he didn't want to leave Leo, but his blood relative was willing to take him in. Then again, he hardly knew this man. He could be very cruel, or he could have been lying and the locket was stolen long ago, or he could have ulterior motives behind taking Asher back. On the other hand, he was rather familiar and there was no threatening warning about him.
But Leo needed his brother. After all their years together, and after all they had gone through, Asher wasn't going to throw it all away for a blood relative. "I can't go with you, sir. Leo is all I have, all I've lived for," he said, beginning what he figured was a cheesy declaration. He still felt it must be said. "We've gone through thick and thin together, and I don't plan on giving it all up just because you're my gramps. That's my answer."

Leo almost couldn't believe the words that came out of Asher's mouth, he sort of knew Ash would choose him over his own grandfather but hearing it said out loud was another matter entirely. Leo smiled at his brother and held his hand once more, giving him a tight hug as thanks. "I'm glad you're my brother." he said softly, hoping they would never separate, but there was still the matter of the old man claiming to be Asher's grandfather. Leo turned around and tried to force a smile, though it wasn't a pleasant one, in fact it looked rather strained. "You have his answer....but because you're his family....I'm sure it would be okay if you came to visit." he said softly, he didn't want to say those words at all but he knew Ash would probably say it anyways.

Daniel couldn't say he was pleased, but he wasn't surprised either. "I suppose it was too much to ask for you to live with me when you don't appear to know me," he admitted with a sigh. He had at least expected for Asher to request taking in his brother as well, which would have been something Daniel would not have a problem with if the child wasn't so hostile to him. For now, he would admit defeat. "I hope you will one day reconsider, but I won't force you." With that, he got up and made his leave.

Leo was a bit relieved to hear the older man leave, glad that he didn't have to worry about his brother being taken away. "How are you feeling?" he asked softly when he turned toward his brother once more, placing his hand on Asher's arm gently. "You had a bad dream, didn't you?" he asked as he comforted his brother, glad that he could be of use.

Asher didn't want to be reminded. "Yeah, but it's not too bad," he said. Was Leo perhaps curious? The older never did tell him about what had happened to his original family, especially Raki, or at least he never remembered telling him anything.

Leo smiled a little. "Good." he said softly before he gasped loudly. "The present, we forgot it!!" he said rather loudly, running toward the door and nearly smashing his nose against it before he found the doorknob. Leo ran out to where he thought the twins were waiting. "We forgot the care package we were putting together!!" he exclaimed rather upset.

Cherry was quite surprised when she saw Leo rush to them, apparently talking about some package. "It's okay. We can bring it tomorrow," she said. "We were more concerned with old Damican after all. Speaking of which, how did the reunion go?" Seeing as she never saw the old guy leave, though he probably did and the twins just weren't paying attention, there must have been some heartfelt reunion of sorts.

Leo was a bit disappointed, he kept forgetting to bring his brother the book he loved so much and he was starting to feel badly for it, but at the same time he didn't want to be selfish and ask the twins to go back and get it. "That man was supposedly his grandfather. I'm not sure if I believe him though. If you get any more predictions about him let me know." he said softly before realizing that he left his brother so suddenly. "Come on, I'm sure Ash would want to see you guys too." he said with a small smile, turning around and heading back down the hall but also listening for their footsteps in case they hesitated.
