It was starting to feel a bit like another one of his hikes as Kressen proceeded through the forest. The only difference was the events of this morning and the fact he had a destination other than some of his old camping grounds. Pallet town was still a ways away because of the time lost to meeting new friends and catching, and being gifted with new Pokemon. It gave him much to reflect upon as he got deeper into the woods.

If I go on this journey the first gym leader is Brock and he has rock type Pokemon so Gigas and Mateus will be bad choices to go up against him with. Odin will do fine, but I shouldn't rely on only him to win the battle. Perhaps I can find a water type along the beach to help win the gym battle. He continued to think on his future battles and journey until he noticed that light was beginning to fade.

"Time to feed you lot then! You must be hungry now." He set down his back and got his camping gear out and along with the pokemon food and bowls. It was nice out so he didn't need to bother with trying to set up his tent. Instead he let his three pokemon out and asked. "Are you guys hung...Mateus what happened?" The other two came out normally and looking the same, but the Caterpie he had caught earlier had evolved into a Metapod while in the ball. Wow, I guess you are really strong to already have evolved."

After a few minutes of chatting, the girls found themselves being greeted by Anne again, who was balancing a tray of food with silverware on her left hand. "Okay!" she exclaimed, "Let's see here. For Ms. Nina, we've got a short stack." She removed the pancakes from her tray and set them before the girl, and then grabbed at the plate which held the omelette. "Ms. Whitney had the cheese, bacon, and tomato omelette," she continued, setting that plate in front of the second girl. "For Ms. Sabrina, we have the triple fruit crepe with raspberries, starfruit, and a blueberry filling, and a lovely mocha cappuccino to go along with it." Anne gave the elder psychic her food and drink, and held the tray with both hands behind her back, giving an ever-so-slight bow of her head. "I must say, Ms. Sabrina, you've made an excellent choice; the crepes are one of my favorite dishes, and the mocha is... well, it's to die for!" Nina laughed nervously but quickly covered her mouth before Anne could hear. Oh my god, she thought, that's... certainly a poor choice of words. Sabrina smiled. "I thank you, Anne," she replied. "I'm sure that I'll love them as well." The girl smiled and nodded. "Is there anything else that I can get for you at the moment?" she inquired. Whitney said that they were fine. "I appreciate it, though! Thank you, Anne." Another nod from the girl. "My pleasure. Enjoy your meals!"

As Anne walked off,
Whitney quickly cut her omelette and chomped into the piece that she took, and not a moment too soon. "Ahhhh," she said in between chewing, "so good! Tummy, I'm so sorry for denying you food for so long!" Sabrina was cutting her crepe into bite-sized pieces, raising an eyebrow at the pink-haired girl. "You do realize that we didn't eat terribly long ago, right?" she inquired. "That is, we ate right before we went to The Chrome last night, and then we went straight to bed from there." Whitney finished eating the piece of her omelette that she was chewing. "Ohmigosh!" she exclaimed. "Has it, like, really been that long? Oh my gooosh, no wonder why I feel so hungry! Ohhhhh!" Sabrina's eye began to twitch immediately. "I will stab you with my fork if you start talking like that again." Whitney giggled as she cut up another piece of her omelette. "Don't worry!" she said, poking her fork into her food; "I've been traveling with you and Nina so long that I've kinda picked up on the way that the both of you talk, and now it's becoming a habit for me to talk a little better! Well, I mean, I don't know that I'd call it better, really, but... I guess different is a better word to use. Have you noticed how long it's been since I have talked like that, though?" Sabrina was politely chewing a few of the bite-sized pieces of her crepe. "Yes," she replied simply after finishing them, "it has been a while, and that time has been lovely. There have been instances where you spoke in that manner that I could actually feel myself losing some of my brain functions." Nina choked back a bit of a laugh as she was eating-- she remained wordless, however, and drizzled some syrup onto her pancakes, adding a bit of raspberry jam as well.

"So, Nina," Whitney said in between chomping, "you've got five Pokemon on your team now! Have you thought about the last one that you'd like to have?" Nina shrugged a little as she continued eating. "Not particularly. I mean, I've been playing around with some ideas in my head, but nothing's really felt quite right for me. Then again, it seems like I've got a few Pokemon that don't even fit with me-- namely, an idiotic Rhyhorn and a crossdressing Tirtouga. For all I know, the next Pokemon that will fall into my lap would be like, a super-intelligent Machoke or something." Sabrina nearly choked on her crepe as she began laughing extremely forcefully. "HA, HA. HA. HA. That's funny. Don't even joke about things like that." Nina shrunk back a little. "Sorry, jeez! I'm just saying, it'd be my luck that I'd get another completely bizarre Pokemon like one of those two." Taking another big bite of her omelette, Whitney pondered for a moment. "What about a Dark-type?" she asked. "I mean, I could see you with one of those." While Sabrina didn't look very pleased with Whitney's suggestion, Nina contemplated it. "That's actually not a bad idea. I mean, I don't plan on adding on to my team immediately-- after all, I do have Courtney to look over for the time being; I'd like to get him stronger before I focus on any more additions."

The girls finished eating a little while later, and they threw their trash in a nearby bin before returning their plates to Anne,
who was straightening up around her register. "Ah, all done?" she asked, taking the plates and Sabrina's cappuccino mug.
Whitney nodded. "Yep! We're gonna head over to Kanto-- Nina's gonna start taking on some of the Gym Leaders over there!"
"Oh! Well, good luck to you, Ms. Nina! Where are you starting?"
"Brock. I wasn't originally planning on starting with him, but I've got a new Pokemon that only recently hatched, so I figured that the experience would help him out a bit. I'm just gonna go in order from there."
"Ah, I see. Um-- what Pokemon do you have on your team?"
"I've got Tirtouga, which is the newly-hatched Pokemon. I've also got a Rhyhorn, a Dragonair, a Togetic, and a Misdreavus."

The last two Pokemon piqued Anne's interest. "You don't say?" she asked. "I'm not sure if you're aware or not, but it's recently been discovered that Togetic and Misdreavus are capable of evolving." Nina nodded a little bit. "I did know of this, yes," she said, turning her head to look at Anna, who was near the elevator, being pestered by Science. "They evolve by Dusk and Shiny Stones, right? I'm not sure where to get those." Anne smiled. "You can get them right here, Nina! They're-- well, they're just a tiny bit more expensive than the other evolutionary stones, but not by much." Whitney beamed. "Aww, Nina! You should totally go pick them up! Think of how much that'll help you out!" Sabrina, however, rested her face in her palm, tapping her index finger against her cheek. "You know," she began, "I think it might actually be wise to consider that. Anna and Mihoshi have served you well in the past, and it could only be beneficial to strengthen their abilities further." Looking towards her Pokemon again, Nina returned her gaze to the girls. "I think I'm going to do it," she said. "I think I should. Thank you for the tip, Anne!" The girl grinned. "Not at all! I'm happy to help." After bidding the girl goodbye, Nina turned and headed toward the elevator, passing by a bald man with large round, black glasses who was holding a plate of cheese slices. "I wear the cheese; it does not wear me," he insisted. While Nina and Sabrina ignored him, Whitney couldn't help but to look at him with a raised eyebrow. "Good for you," she said-- although it sounded more like she was posing it as a question.

"About time!" Anna said as the girls approached her. "So, we're going to Kanto now, right?" A small smile found its way onto Nina's lips. "Yep, but first I need to make a super quick pit stop! You guys can wait for me outside if you want-- I won't be more than a minute." Nina pressed the call button for the elevator, and its doors opened as they moved inside it. Pressing two more buttons, the doors closed and began descending; the doors reopened a few moments later. "I'll meet you outside soon!" she exclaimed, nearly bouncing out of the elevator. Anna watched as the doors closed again; she couldn't help but to wear a quizzical expression on her face. "She seems to be in a good mood. What's her deal?" Electing not to tell the Ghost about her surprise, Whitney shrugged. "Dunno! She didn't mention anything to us, so your guess is as good as ours."

Pulling out her electronic funds card, Nina approached the counter, a large grin on her face. "Excuse me, sir?" she asked to the man behind the desk. "Do you happen to have any Dusk and Shiny Stones in stock? I'd like one of each, if you please." Looking around for a moment, the man replied that they did; he grabbed one of each and brought them to his register. "Will there be anything else for you today?" he inquired. "No, thank you! Just those, please." Taking Nina's card, he replied that the total came to $5000; he swiped it a moment later, before returning the card to her. "Would you like a bag for the stones?" Opening her bag, Nina replied that she didn't, and she placed them inside of it. "Thank you very much!" she said, bounding off to the elevator; it opened and she pressed a button, causing the doors to close.

This is incredible, she thought. I can't believe it, I can't believe it! Anna and Mihoshi are going to evolve!

Keegan hadn't quite known what to expect once he'd entered his father's study, though he quickly realized that it hadn't changed much in ten or so years. He had only been in here once before (that he could remember, anyway), and that had been a mistake if he'd ever made one. Todd had gone away on a business trip, and somehow the overactive imaginations of a then-nine year-old Keegan and an eight year-old Mike had convinced them that Keegan's dad was a small-town Pokemon breeder by day, and an infamous international spy by night. The boys' insatiable curiosity got the better of them and the proceeded to break into Todd's office, intent on finding some sort of proof of Mr Summers' true profession. Naturally, they didn't find anything of the sort, and they sure got into a whole heap of trouble, especially considering that Todd came home a day early and naturally caught them in the act. Keegan smirked at the memory as he studied a framed photograph of "The Trio" on one of the bookshelves. Flannery was in between the two boys, an arm around either of them, and all three had wide, stupid grins on their faces. It had been taken just before Flannery had started her gym leader training, which meant that they would have been eleven, ten and nine respectively. It was a little sad to think of how different things were now, as all three of them looked so happy, so innocent. Keegan picked up the photograph and frowned at it. Lately, he would give almost anything to get back to those simpler days where the only thing they had to worry about was what kind of mischief they'd get into next.

The redhead set down the photo and looked over at his father, who was standing by the small window, hands behind his back. He hadn't said anything since they'd entered the room, and Keegan fidgeted nervously, finding another set of photographs to stare at. There was one of his parents when they were younger and of course, a wedding photo. There were also several photos of him when he was younger, and Keegan shook his head at the images of him, smiling brightly and innocently at the camera. He hadn't noticed any recent photos until he spotted one on the desk. It was a bit surprising to see, as it was of him and Helios, sitting on the front porch in the sunset. Helios was still young and it was before they'd left home, and Keegan remembered well when his mother snapped the shot. It was easy to see how different even the look in his green eyes seemed to be between those old photos, and this one.

"Sometimes it's hard to believe how much you've grown," Todd said, a distant tone in his voice. He looked back at his son, and nodded to a family photo that showed the three of them together, with Maggie holding Keegan. He'd only been about two then. "I never thought that quiet little boy with the mass of red hair would grow up to have such..." Mr Summers trailed off, seemingly searching for the right word.

"Attitude?" Keegan offered, moving across the room to stand next to his father. He was grinning, however, as though to show he was joking.

Todd chuckled a little. "I was going to say enthusiasm and energy, but that definitely works, too."

Miharu's green eyes went wide when she heard Jasmine's command, and she suddenly felt very stupid for not having predicted that the gym leader's Pokemon would also know how to use Earthquake. Tingle had already been rattled from being smacked around by the Dig attack and the Earthquake wasn't any gentler so it was no surprise that the Metang was looking like it was about to collapse. "Scary Face, one more time!" the small girl shouted, getting its PokeBall ready. The Metang rose up off the ground, managing to shoot another sinister glare in the Steelix's direction. That was about all it could manage though, its drone growing quiet as it clattered to the gym floor.

Miharu said nothing and recalled her Metang, stopping to study her last PokeBall before tossing it. Lily the Ivysaur appeared for the second time, though this time she did not accent her entrance with her usual cascade of pink flower petals. It was down to the wire now, and the Ivysaur seemed to sense the tension in the arena as well. She titled her head to gaze at her trainer. The two exchanged a look before they both smiled. There was no way they were coming out of this gym without that badge. "Razor Leaf!" the green-haired girl called, and Lily gave a cry, her flower bud shimmering before a flurry of green leaves spiraled out toward the massive Steelix.

Time to be a hero! Kasiya thought, taking a deep breath as she started down the stairs. She was ready enough, but she hadn't decided how she was going to get to Viridian. She was going to be on her own after all and she wasn't the kind to make dramatic, flashy entrances. She could always just walk, but that wouldn't be fast enough. She could fly on Sirrus or ride on Hiro, but she didn't want to tire out her Pokemon even a tiny bit. That meant she'd be taking her bike, which hadn't seen any use in quite a while. In fact, she couldn't recall using it much after she and Keegan had to get them repaired after the front tires were ruined by trip wires at the hands of a pair of prankster trainers. The girl frowned in anger at the memory, as to add insult to the injuries they'd suffered, they also lost the battle. Good, she thought as she set up her bike. Anger is good. If I get nice and angry I won't lose my nerve! Her pulse was already starting to pound as she swung a leg over the seat of her bike. Her blue eyes narrowed and she pedaled off down Route 1.

She couldn't help but recall the last time she'd been this way, which had been after spending the night at Professor Oak's after the Beach Party. She made good time as she rode along, finding it too early for any other trainers to be out. She passed by a large rock and grinned - a young boy named Joey had mistaken her to be a Pallet Town trainer and challenged her to battle, though her having a very young and still unevolved Nova at the time didn't help much. Kasiya was amazed at how far Nova had come since then, and she was only mildly sad that the Charmeleon still wasn't quite strong enough to help on this mission. Maybe next time, she thought, pedaling harder. Her legs started to ache a little from the effort (flying around on Pokemon all the time sure seemed to have an effect on her stamina) but she didn't stop. She didn't stop even when her lungs burned and screamed at her to stop. She resolved to make it to Viridian City in record time and she was not going to disappoint herself.

Kasiya wasn't sure exactly how long she'd been on the road, but when she finally arrived at her destination, it was accented by a rapid stop, resulting in her bike skidding across the ground and coming to a stop in front of the Pokemon Center. Somehow the blonde had managed to dismount without hurting herself, and she marched inside the Pokemon Center, taking up only enough time to catch her breath and grab a bottle of water. She was shaking quite noticeably now but she drained the water in several long gulps before throwing it into the recycling bin nearby. The nurse had watched her from behind her desk with wide, blue eyes, having seen the girl's almost-scary demeanor the moment she walked in so she didn't bother with her normally-cheerful "Good morning!" Feeling refreshed and raring to go, Kasiya headed back outside, her bike still 'parked' in a haphazard fashion near the doors of the Center and more or less forgotten. Bikes, after all, could be replaced; the first Pokemon that a trainer ever captured could not.

By now, like many of her friends, Kasiya was quite familiar with the layout of Viridian so she didn't even have to stop and orient herself before she began to march, literally, to the north where she knew Giovanni's gym waited. As she drew nearer and nearer to her destination, she removed two Pokeballs from her belt, enlarging both of them and holding them at the ready. She did not want to give herself away too soon, even if the majority of her plan called for little to absolutely no subtly whatsoever. Her pace did not slow until she'd met the outermost perimeter of the gym, and then she stopped, looking around the area. There were no people in view, which was definitely a good thing, and she gave both Pokeballs a small toss. Hiro and Ada appeared at her sides, making the relatively harmless girl look a lot more formidable now that a mighty Arcanine and a massive Tyranitar had joined her. She glanced at either Pokemon, and smiled darkly.

"Let's go."

Erika had truly not been expecting for her Tangrowth's Solarbeam to do as much damage as it did, and she easily suspected a critical hit. Watching the sludge blow out of the Muk was like a scene from one of those old horror movies, and the smell wasn't any better. The gym leader was determined to remain confident, however, even as Crenu ordered Bubbles to counterattack with a Sludge Bomb.

The resulting attack sped through the air and struck the mass of vines dead in the center of its body. The sunlight had since petered out as well, and Tangrowth was only able to offer a weak moan before it slumped to the ground, having succumbed to Bubbles' attack. Erika exhaled sharply through her nose and closed her eyes, taking a moment to compose herself as she recalled her Tangrowth. She had nothing polite to say to her challenger and his Pokemon, so instead she offered a tight-lipped smile and sent out her next Pokemon, a tall creature that resembled a walking coconut tree. She knew just how to finish off that Muk. "Exeggutor, use Psychic." The Grass/Psychic-type gave a cry, its many faces twisted into varying emotions as it launched an assault of psychic energy at the Sludge Pokemon.

Leaving the Pokemon Center Kenny wasn't quite sure which way to head. The sun was bright overhead and while that did annoy the ghost type a bit, he would much rather be traveling at night, the Dusclops wasn't going to stop his search though just because of a little sun! Still he had no idea which way to go, the ghost pokemon wished he could sigh, like he often saw his trainer do and now knew why. The Dusclops just stood in the doorway scaring off most people who seemed to want to go into the Pokemon Center. It only took a few moments though before a rarely seen Baltoy came spinning out of the Pokemon Center's doors. The psychic type gave what Kenny assumed was a long and level stare before motioning in a certain direction.

The ghost type only shook his head before turning and heading off in that direction, something about that psychic type creeped him out. Maybe that was just his ghost senses telling him not to trust it but Kenny was glad the Baltoy wasn't going to be traveling with them, not that he wanted to be traveling with an egg or a little monster dragon but still. Why was it Apollo that had to get hurt? That was really the only one out of Dante's new team that he really liked, he supposed the Heracross was ok to. Maybe he was a little biased against all the new comers though, it wasn't really their fault that Dante had picked them to come with him and only had two members of his original team back. Well whatever, he had to find his wayward trainer and bring him on back. He could deal with his own issues later. That thought in mind the Dusclops made his way out of Veilstone city, never hatching egg peaking out of the messenger bag at his side.

~~~~~~~
A new place that was on the other side of the park. Or was it? Robin wasn't quite sure where she and Ace ended up actually. Scratching her head Robin looked around. They were on top of the mountain area that surrounded the back half of the park, or at least she seemed to think they were. There was a lot of guessing going on around here. "Huh. You know where we are Ace?" She asked glancing over to the Monferno who had headed over to the ledge to look down. Sure enough the park was down below. "Pretty high up." She muttered as she backed off a bit. "There doesn't look to be any more sandcastles up here though. Maybe we should head back?" Just as she asked that she spotted something brown peaking out at her from behind the rocks. "Eh? Hey come out from behind there!" Robin yelled pointing her finger at it in a dramatic sort of fashion, Ace immediately scrambled over to her side not wanting to leave his reckless trainer alone to do something stupid for to long.
It turned out to not be to much of a threat though as behind the rock was a scared looking Buneary that popped up scared at Robin's loud voice. The poor bunny pokemon looked up at Robin and Ace from it's hiding spot with frightened eyes and gave a small whimper.
The cute little Buneary had a bowtie around it's neck and Robin couldn't help but coo at how cute it was. "Aww look at you!" Robin cried as she forgot her being tough for a moment and dashing over kicking sand up as she ran she scooped the cute little rabbit pokemon up into her arms. "Well aren't you cute?" Robin smiled at it and spun it around. Not missing a beat the excited girl shoved it into Ace's face. "Isn't he cute? Maybe I should put a bowtie on you to Ace?" The Monferno had a horrified look on his face at the thought and gave her a look that clearly stated he would tolerate no such thing, Robin didn't even seem to notice. She did notice however when her Monferno leapt up and kicked a rock that had been thrown right at her face. "Ace? What was that?" Robin grew more serious as she held the Buneary closer to her as she got back into battle mode. In front of her the fire fighting type was scanning the area with bright blue eyes, it didn't seem to be able to see what had attacked them either.
It was the dead of night by the time Mike landed in Viridian City. Nitro touched down quietly beside the Pokemon center and wasting no time, Mike hopped off of the Pokemon and recalled him before darting towards the Gym. He remembered he way from the last time he was here, when Nina went on a small rampage after the apparent death of her apparent sister, Sabrina. Mike's pace slowed down, eventually stopping altogether. He looked down at his feet.
What's the matter? a phantom asked. Its dark body blended in with the darkness, revealing only a pair of white eyes and a crescent frown.
"Just," he began, twisting his mouth into a frown of his own. "I feel like such a complete jackass. I gave my friend too hard of a time for being in pain, then turned right around and completely melted down." He took in a deep breath through his nose, his scars glowing a faint orange before he exhaled a steady plume of smoke.
We can't expect ourselves to feel another's pain as our own. the ghost replied before fading into the night. We can only hope to learn from our mistakes and work not to repeat them. Mike pressed his lips together and nodded, continuing down the path. He would make it up to his friend soon.
Thankfully, only psychopaths and idiots were out at this hour. Since Mike cornered the market on both fronts, it was safe to say his approach to the gym went unnoticed. Soon he stood before the building, the lack of exterior lights putting up the facade of being closed. He studied the surrounding area. Not a scratch. No tell-tale signs of Pokemon. Risking a little noise, he released Portabello.
P.B. he thought. Can you see if Kasiya is in there?
The Breloom nodded in affirmation, turning and focusing on the building. He could hear the tell-tale whispers of his haunted master, which made pin-pointing any specific voice so far away impossible. He was however, unable to detect any wild thoughts typically thrown around in situations of extreme stress. He shook his head apologetically. I am sorry, master. I cannot say for sure, but I do not sense the usual chaos that stems from operations such as this.
Well then that settles it. Mike thought with a tiny smirk. Kasiya could be invisible and still show up on camera. Not to mention, she would no doubt want to prepare before doing something like this.
So we are not kicking in the door this time, master? Portabello asked.
Nope! I've got a plan this time. See? Progress! the boy smiled proudly. The Breloom once again shook his head, prompting his trainer to playfully push on the Pokemon's cap with his foot. Come on. We gotta get ready. The two crept around the side of the gym to the woods surrounding the city.
So what is this plan, master? Portabello finally asked after the two had made it to the edge of the forest.
Sleep! Mike replied, climbing over a log and disappearing into the thicket.
I...do not follow..
We rest. I'm going to find a spot to sleep, and you're going to stick on the edge of the woods and keep an eye out for Kasiya, and wake me when she shows up. Do that meditating thing you do.
The Breloom pondered for a moment. And then we will join up with Mistress Kasiya?
Not join, assist from afar. Mike thought, poking his head out from the leaves. I want to be close enough to jump in if she needs it, but far enough away where she can feel that she's doing most of it on her own.
Build her confidence. a ghost added, causing the Breloom to jump slightly.
I see. Portabello said with a nod, side-eyeing the phantom.
Don't worry. I will try to sleep far enough away so you can't pick up my dreams too loud. You'll need your focus.
My apologies, master.
Not even remotely your fault! Mike 'called' out. After some rustling leaves, the boy was gone, leaving Portabello alone.
For a moment, the Pokemon just stood there awkwardly. It had been so long since he had a moment of actual peace that he had almost forgotten how to handle it. One step at a time. Portabello let out a slow breath and sat down, closing his eyes. With his sight gone, his focus shifted to sounds from both outside, and within. He could hear faint voices carried in the wind. They were so soft he wasn't sure if they were even forming words. A strong gust of wind sweeping across his face revealed that he was just imagining things. Or was he? It had become increasingly hard to tell.
The nearby plant-life was drawn to the mushroom Pokemon as he became more and more absorbed in his meditation. Vines gently curled up his body as his own grass-like fur began to grow. Soon Portabello was all but completely concealed, appearing simply as a patch of grass and leaves.
"Kanto forests are strange." Mike said once he was sure it was safe to talk. Thinking was tiring. Too much competition for space inside his head. Mike paused, waiting for the usual reply. "None of you are from Kanto?" Still nothing. He shrugged. "Not super chatty tonight? That's fine." Mike continued through the woods, taking care to brush against as little plants as possible. The last thing Kasiya would need would be the entire town to be on high alert because he accidentally set the woods on fire. That would sure clear out the Rockets, though. No. No. Bad. Arson bad. On like, every level. He slapped himself across the face. "Ow! Why did I do that?"
Sorry. A phantom said, letting go of the boy's hand. You were thinking crazy.
"Oh. Well thank you, then."
After a few more minutes of wandering, Mike found the perfect spot. A soft patch of earth next to a river, with plenty of space so even if he did toss and turn, he wouldn't fall into the water and sizzle out. Likely wouldn't. Just to be sure, he released Nitro. "Hey buddy." Mike said, pointing over to the dirt. "Fancy a nap outside of the ball?" The Charizard, who was also fading into dream land from his late night flight, perked up and waddled over to the dirt and flopped to the ground with all the grace a seven something foot dragon could muster. Mike grinned, walking over to his Pokemon and lazily draped himself over him.
After some reconfiguration, the two fell asleep; Mike resting on Nitro's belly as the dragon curled himself protectively around him.
Riza studied the Kanto map for quite some time, and before long, she was sure she had most of it memorized, or at least the very basic layout. She still hadn't decided where to go, though there was a small legend at the bottom of the map that seemed to explain the suggested order for completing Kanto's gym challenge. "So the gym in Pewter is first. I already have the second and third badges, then..." she mumbled to herself. She'd never been on that side of Kanto before and the thought of going somewhere new was both exciting and nerve wracking. Even still, she had little Selena to train, and if that gym in Pewter was for rock-types, her little grass snake would be at an advantage. There was also the forest nearby and she wondered if there were any interesting Pokemon over that way. Not that she really needed to catch more, but it was always good idea to keep an open mind.
Since she'd put her only flying Pokemon away it meant she had to take her out again, though it would only be temporary. She wasn't sure how strong the gym leader of Pewter would be but she did know that flying-types didn't fare well against rock-types. Either way, even if her Snivy couldn't do it all on her own, she'd have her other Pokemon for backup. "Let's do this then," she said, heading outside of the pokecenter and releasing her Fearow. The bird gave an irritated squawk, and though Riza wanted to give her a friendly pat, she valued her fingers too much to try it. It was still pretty amazing that Plua allowed her trainer even to climb on her back. When they were up in the air, it didn't take long for her to realize that it would be more difficult to fly there than she thought, as she didn't know the way and neither did Plua. It looked like they were going to have to take the long way around after all.
A short flight later and the pair landed safely in Cerulean, and Riza didn't hesitate for a moment before going back and switching the Fearow out of her party. She felt a little bad about using the Fearow only for flying, but perhaps if she wanted to see battle again, she'd stop being such a testy b***h all the time. Riza then started off toward the city, only just able to spot Mt.Moon in the distance and she hoped it wouldn't be too difficult to get through.
'If being poisoned isn't bad enough, Toxic is even worse,' Katie thought, suddenly aware of the extremely limited time that Darla had left before she succumbed to the poison. The Solosis, on the other hand, didn't appear to be all that distressed, in fact other than a faint purple glow about her, she felt just fine. The psychic-type gave a fierce cry and launched another Psywave at the annoying pink Happiny, though this one was quite weak. Katie raised an eyebrow, more that her Pokemon wasn't being affected by the Toxic than that she'd acted without being told to. There was something fishy going on with this Pokemon and she'd have to figure out what it was, but first she was determined to win this battle. As kind as the nurse in training Thea was, she was still an opponent that Katie was determined to beat.
"That's strange, Toxic always works, unless it's a poison or steel-type," Thea commented, easily as confused as Katie. "Try another Pound attack!" The pink Pokemon gave a cry and rushed at Darla, slamming its tiny fists against the psychic-type and sending her drifting back. Both Pokemon were already showing signs of fatigue and it was understandable because they were both so young. "Pound again!" Thea called.
"Psywave!" called Katie, wanting to at least appear like she was in control of her Pokemon. Happiny charged forward once again raising its fists. Darla looked rather creepy with her purple glow, now accented as she charged up another Psywave and let it fly. Darla was slightly quicker than the Happiny so her attack hit first, causing the pink Pokemon to topple over, unable to continue.
Jasmine exhaled sharply at the sight of the Metang finally being brought down, though not before crippling her Steelix's speed with another Scary Face. "It's down to this then," the gym leader said, grinning across the battlefield at her younger yet identically dressed challenger. She liked this girl Miharu, as she appeared to be rather quiet and unassuming but beneath all that a fierce battling spirit was hidden. The Ivysaur made another appearance and Miharu didn't hesitate to issue a command for Razor Leaf. Normally, her Steelix could easily get itself out of the way, but with its speed having been reduced. The massive Pokemon roared as it was hit by the leaves, small marks being left in its hide in various places.
"Let's hit them hard," Jasmine shouted. "Rock Slide!" Steelix gave another loud roar and wall of stone rose up from the already devastated ground, and began to rain down toward the Ivysaur. Jasmine was not going to give up her badge that easily!
Nina couldn't restrain herself from smiling as she descended the floors via the elevator; she held her hand over her bag, which was diagonally slung over her shoulder. It was nice, toting around a messenger bag now instead of that backpack-- she didn't like the weird feeling of vulnerability that came with carrying a backpack. After all, since the messenger bag rested near her hands, she had more protection over it, thus leaving her with a bit more peace of mind-- that was something that Nina could always use. The girl adjusted her ponytail as she waited for the elevator to finish descending; I wonder, should I outright tell Anna what I've got in store for her? the girl thought. Maybe I should hold off a bit... Hm. And then there's the matter of Mihoshi; I don't think I want to evolve her just yet. Maybe I should level her up a bit more just so that she can get stronger and maybe learn some new moves along the way. I think that'd be my best bet.
A few more thoughts passed through the girl's mind, but soon enough she found herself on the ground floor of the Department Store. As the elevator doors opened, Nina slipped her hand into her bag, running her fingers along the Dusk Stone. Even though she wasn't looking into her bag to see the stone, she could discern it from the Shiny Stone; it was almost as if Nina could quite literally feel the darkness that the stone contained. It wasn't quite the type of thing that she could put into words, but it had a very distinct feel, a very distinct... atmosphere? Was that the word Nina wanted to use? Not really, but it was the closest thing she could think of at the time. As she approached the exit, she removed her hand, leaving the Dusk Stone within the bag.
"Ah, back already?" Sabrina asked, as she was approached by the blue-haired girl. "Yep, I'm all set! What about you guys?" Whitney cocked her head. "Yeah, we're all set," she started, "but did you get... you know. That thiiing?" Nina chuckled a little and covered her mouth to hide a smile. Anna appeared confused. "What thing?" she asked. "Oh, it's nothing!" Nina replied, giggling a little. She couldn't help but to feel herself getting overcome with excitement-- she was trying to hold it back though, but she was always so bad at hiding surprises. "Don't say it's nothing!" Whitney exclaimed. "Ninaaa, aren't you going to tell her?" The Ghost Pokemon looked even more perplexed. "...Tell me what?" she asked. "Nina?" Nina kept giggling. "Nina! Tell me what?!" Nina removed her hand from her mouth and let out a little sigh. "It's a surprise!" she replied, reaching into her bag and digging around for a moment. This immediately piqued Anna's interest; "Oh?!" she squealed. "A surprise?! For me?! Oh, Nina, you shouldn't have! I just, I don't know what to say, I-- this is all so sudden!" The Ghost found herself giggling now, too. "So, what'd you get me?" No sooner had Anna asked that question did Nina pull the Dusk Stone out from her bag; she held it out in front of herself, allowing Anna to stare at it. "It's a Dusk Stone!" Nina exclaimed, her grin quickly returning to her face. "It can evolve you, Anna!" Whitney swayed her head side-to-side a few times and grinned. "It'll make you even stronger than you are now! Think of how much butt you'll be able to kick!" A light smile danced on Sabrina's lips as well. "You may even be capable of furthering your fighting abilities by learning new techniques that weren't previously available to you."
Anna stared at the stone with a bit of a blank expression on her face. "...Evolve me?" she asked, receiving a vigorous nod in reply from her Trainer. "But... Nina. I don't... I don't want to evolve."
Anna's reaction caused silence to fall upon the girls. Nina retracted her hand away from her Pokemon and held the stone close to her chest. "But Anna," she asked, "why not? Why don't you want to evolve?" The Ghost Pokemon turned away from her Trainer for a moment. "I'm afraid," she responded. "I'm afraid that I'll completely change-- well, I mean, I know that I'll change, because every Pokemon physically changes when they evolve, but I'm afraid my personality will change, too. I'm afraid that I'll be a completely different Pokemon, that I'll-- I don't know, that maybe I won't behave the same way around you, or maybe I'll-- I'll forget you or something-- I don't know! Nina, I don't want to forget you!" Nina tilted her head a little. "Anna, that's silly!" she replied. "You're not going to forget me! Mihoshi didn't forget me when she evolved, and Oracle didn't forget Sabrina when he evolved, and Rio didn't forget Whitney! And-- and none of Mike's Pokemon forgot him, either!" Anna was getting distressed. "You don't know that that won't happen to me, though-- it's not entirely unheard of! And, what about my personality, huh? Who's to say that I won't start getting more aggressive, or-- or that I'll just stop listening to you? How do you know that I won't do those things? How do you know?! And if those things do happen to me, how do you know that I won't forget you?! Nina, I-- I don't want to forget you! Or Sabrina, or Whitney, or-- god, even that Porygon! I don't want to forget any of you! I don't want to forget!" Nina returned the stone to her bag and quickly rushed toward her Pokemon, who was now crying, and embraced her in a hug. "Anna, shh. It's-- it's okay. If you don't want to evolve, then I won't make you. Just, calm down. It's okay." She ran her fingers through the Ghost Pokemon's locks of "hair" and just stood there, comforting her Pokemon.
Whitney and Sabrina, at this point, had given Nina and Anna a little bit of space. "Is it really possible for a Pokemon to forget their Trainer upon evolution?" Whitney asked. Sabrina rested her hand against the side of her face. "Well, like Anna said, it really isn't unheard of. It's extremely rare, but it isn't unheard of-- it's a risk that's run whenever any Pokemon evolves. I understand Anna's reasoning-- she and Nina have been together for over a decade. I couldn't imagine what it would be like for Nina, either, if that did happen-- having a companion for most of your life suddenly completely forgetting who you are? It would be most unbearable..."
To Crenu, everything was silent, moving in slow motion as he watched the sludge ball soar through the air. Electricity fried rapidly within his brain as one thought after another was carried around rapidly, every twitch of his pokemon and hers, her face, the surrounding area, taking it all in and processing it at impressive speed. His split second reactions and ability to take in information like a sponge was what Crenu prided himself on the most. He was ready to move in case he needed to, or rather in case he needed Bubbles to, but this wasn't the case as the sludge bomb met it's mark, and the large mass of vines fell to the putrid poison. The task was done, Erika's first pokemon was felled, but not without difficulty. One look at the Muk made it clear that he was just about done. Crenu didn't plan on the Muk taking out Erika's next pokemon, or even getting past more than one exchange. He'd probably let it use it's gas to poison her next choice before being taken down, and that would be good enough. If nothign else he'd be a sacrifice for Crenu to get a bit of a read on the next pokemon. It wasn't all that surprising really when the grass type leader recalled her Tangrowth end sent out a pokemon Crenu recognized well enough to know it was a great counter. Unlike the last one, her next choice had quite the edge, especially considering the extend to how hurt and tired Bubbles was. Exeggutor was a grass psychic type pokemon, and an impressive one at that. He already knew she would call out for the Psychic before she even said it, and was focused on setting up the field for his next pokemon. "Bubbles get out a Poison Gas at all costs." There was intense pressure in the air as the bipedal tree was sending forth it's mental assault, Bubbles inhaling a deep breath as it did so. Luckily for him Exeggutor wasn't much faster than he was, and with his minimized state he was able to keep low to avoid as best he could, exhaling a thick fast moving fog of toxins created deep inside the vile creature's body. He couldn't avoid all of it though, and the pressure on his mind was far to great. Bubbles let out a gurgling sloppy cry of defeat as the Psychic broke through rather easily once ht got a hold of him, and he pooled out into an liquified state. Crenu recalled him quickly, sending out the next in line. As the pokeball burst open the golden feathered Fearow flew out, spreading his shimmering wings and squawking triumphantly, as it winning just by making an appearance. "Leer." Pet Shop folded his wings as he planted his talons in the ground, taking up an intimidating stance as he met the center Exeggutor's glance head on.
Neither Jason nor Atlas knew where the enemy Onix was. Atlas wasn't concerned though, he felt like he could rip a hole through a mountain right now! He was pumped up, and slapping the ground with his tail showed it as it created cracks in the rock. But all the power in the world didn't mean anything if there was nothing to hit. Jason scratched his head in confusion trying to figure out what to do next, but that decision was made for them it seemed. There was a sudden rumbling from the earth below, the dirt sank in as the floor gave way and Atlas was sent tumbling down. Perhaps he would have been able to do something about it under normal circumstances, but with all the extra bulk he'd packed on during this match he fell straight down like the stone he was. Atlas let out a roar of surprise as he fell down to the dark depths of the Oreburgh gym. "W-what the, Atlas!" Jason called out as his pokemon disappeared from site. Panic started to set in for a moment, but he quickly shook that from his mind. "Wait wait, it's ok. He's a tough pokemon, he's got this. Um...um...ok. Atlas just try and relax. He's down there somewhere. Just try and feel him out... use your body." Jason felt pretty helpless right now, what could atlas do down there? Jason couldn't see him and Atlas had never been deeper than a few feet below surface before. How did a pokemon even fight under ground? Atlas didn't really know either, and all he could do was push trough. It was strange and new to him too, and the Onix just pushed his muzzle against the earth and moved through it cautiously. Somewhere down there was the other Onix, all he could do was try and find him first!
The sun had risen in the sky as Portabello continued his vigilant duty. Since then, the city below began to come alive with people. Their combined thoughts bounced through the Breloom's mind like the chirping birds in the morning sky. He was only able to discern general moods and random words. From what he could gather, the general human population in the morning time ranged from depressed to homicidal. Perhaps master isn't as far removed from society as he thinks. the Pokemon mused. Portabello continued to rummage through the various grouchiness thoughts around something called 'coffee' for what may have been hours until one particular voice caused him to snap to attention. He couldn't make out words just yet, but it was definitely familiar to him. The Pokemon poked his head out of the overgrowth and narrowed his eyes, attempting to pinpoint the source.
Marching into view was the very human in question: Mistress Kasiya. She walked with purpose towards the Viridian Gym before releasing two of her Pokemon. He recognized Hiro, but the second...he'd never seen the girl with anything like that before. That could wait. The target had been confirmed. Portabello stood up, the vines and plantlife detaching from him. With a powerful jump, the Pokemon vanished into the woods.
As he raced through the woods, Portabello could hear the distant sounds of battle. Ah, master must have already woken up and began training. Following the noise, what he found was anything but. Surrounding the sleeping boy and his Pokemon were a legion of phantoms, which were battling a seemingly endless onslaught of shadowy monsters. Each time one would get close, a torrent of ghosts would scream forth and envelop the beast. In the center, sitting on top of Mike's sleeping body was a small form, like the rest. Portabello stepped out of the brush for a closer look, stepping on a twig. The noise roused Nitro, whose head snapped up groggily as he looked around, oblivious to the invisible phantasmal melee happening around him. The Charizard's movement rolled Mike off of him, causing the boy to land in the dirt with a dry thud, both the ghosts and monsters alike blew away in the wind along with the dust that rose from the boy's impact.
Mike rolled a few times on the ground, coughing up dust. "Can't see. Dying." he said weakly.
Master! Portabello stomped his foot. Mistress Kasiya is at the gym! Mike sprang up.
"How long ago?" he demanded, rising to his feet.
Not more than three minutes.
"Good work. As always Thank you." Mike brushed off his clothes, looking over at Nitro. "Sorry to keep sending you out and pulling you back in, but you got kinda fat and now I can't sneak around with you as well. You know how it is." He raised the dragon's Pokeball and recalled him. Nitro let out an amused snort before being sucked into the device, which was then stuffed into Mike's corpse of a messenger bag. "Let's go."
"Oh," was about all Billy could manage to utter as he watched Jasper's Koffing bobbling along, just above ground, blubbering like a baby. The smoke cloud had already started to thin out around them, leaving only a hazy veil in its wake. The boy felt bad about attacking the Koffing, but he knew he probably shouldn't be showing any weakness, either. "Is uh... is it okay to keep going?" the boy asked warily, peering around the still-wailing poison type to look at Jasper.
"I don't even know," Jasper admitted with a sigh, scratching the back of his neck. "C'mon, Koffing! You can do it! Stop crying and do what you do best - be disgusting! Barf up some sludge on it or something. You can't just quit on me! Not after I gave you a chance!" Koffing's cries grew more lamenting - clearly she didn't even know how to use sludge as of yet - but her trainer's words seemed to spark something within, and she wheeled around, puffing out to her full two-foot diameter. She narrowed her eyes at the Rattata and sent out another gassy cloud, only this one was more greenish and had a much nastier intent behind it. It took Jasper a moment to realize this was a Smog attack, and he grinned. "See! There! I knew you could do it!"
The little rat coughed and hacked as the air around it turned toxic, and it was a bloody miracle that it didn't get poisoned in the process. It gave a sharp cry to show it was all right, and on Billy's call, raced in for what appeared to be a Quick Attack. Koffing was by no means a speedster and her eyes went wide as she was smacked around yet again; only this time, as she rebounded off the ground she gave a cry, and Jasper didn't hesitate to his next command. "Tackle! We've got this!" The Poison Gas Pokemon careened into her target, causing a mass of purple to go bounding along the ground. When they rolled to a stop, Koffing was wearing a huge grin as she perched atop the Rattata, who'd been knocked utterly senseless.
Even though she knew there was no chance her Nidoran could get poisoned, Hayley still felt worried as the little blue mousy-like creature was stuck with a handful of venomous barbs. It did little more than cause Tisyphone some irritation and the Nidoran scratched at the area, her little whiskers twitching intently. She wasn't sure why this nasty-looking bug was shooting things at her, but she had no intention to let it continue. "Go and um, Scratch at it!" Hayley called out hopefully, only just able to push away her negative thoughts. After all, what kind of watcher would she be if she couldn't even take down a stupid little Weedle? Okay, maybe it was a bit bigger than most of the Weedle she'd seen before, but that didn't matter. The female Nidoran charged into the fray with only the slightest hesitation, and she pounced on the bug, raking her claws along its body.
The worm cried out and fought back, jabbing its stinger into Tiss' side repeatedly, and the Nidoran quickly backed off. Hayley wasn't sure, but she thought that a Weedle's moves were rather limited and that perhaps that very fact would give them the edge. To be safe she took out her Pokedex and scanned the Weedle, vibrant green eyes glancing from the screen to the little mini battle that was waging in front of her. "Um Scratch again!" the brunette called, watching with both amusement and pride as her little Nidoran showed that she was nothing to be trifled with, once again laying into the bug with a series of sharp strikes.
It was late in the morning when Sasha decided to wake up. Well, late for a lady of her status: around 9:15. Now a tangled mess of pink hair that vaguely resembled a human being, she rolled over to check on her guest. Sure enough, Doe was still sleeping. It was no surprise, especially after the workout they had last night. Sasha smiled as she thought back to it, then decided that she could do for a little more fun. With a cute 'rawr!', she pounced on her unknowing prey. Doe squeaked in surprise, but very soon wasn't complaining at the sudden start.
After the brief musical interlude, Sasha looked over at the clock: ten to ten. Their room service would be up soon. Giving Doe one more kiss, she left the girl to her rest and climbed out of bed. Sasha put on her underwear and began her morning stretches, planning out her day as she did. After breakfast she would drop Doe off wherever she needed to go, then take the Magnet Train straight to Kanto, do some shopping, maybe drop in on Erika for some delicious tea, then the photo-shoot with Celeste! All in all, a productive day, she thought, which was exactly what she needed. After her legs and stomach felt the subtle burn of a good workout, Sasha bounced to her feet and checked herself in the mirror. Her hair was so out of line it was one slip-up away from losing its badge, but it was the hair that got results dammit. She did a practice pose to prepare for her shoot later today, tucking her arm under her breasts to push them up, and looking innocently at the mirror like she had just been caught doing something very naughty. As she continued to work it, there was a knock at the door. Ah, room service. Right on time! Electing not to give the poor person at the door a total heart attack, she put on her white button up. She left it unbuttoned, however, because reactions are entertaining.
Strutting to the door, she opened it. "Bonjou~" she began to sing, before freezing in horror at who it was on the other side of the door. She opened her mouth to speak, but all that came out was a breathy squeak. Realizing she was more than half naked, Sasha slammed the door and pressed herself against it.
"What happened!" Doe yelped, having been once again shocked awake. She peered over at Sasha, who wore a concerning expression of terror. "What's wrong? Who's at the door?"
"My...my..." Sasha stammered between breaths. "My butler!"
Keegan chuckled as well, though it was an awkward-sounding noise and he cut it off before he made himself look like even more of a fool, and he sighed, turning from the window and staring at the wall nearby. He hadn't really noticed until now, but it was virtually covered with certificates and plaques of honor, varying from minor commendations for services to full-out recognition for outstanding achievements in the world of Pokemon breeding. Keegan had always known how successful his family business had been, but he'd never fully fathomed just how deep it ran. "Wow, Dad," he said, trying to take in every word in every frame, "this is amazing. I had no idea you were so... accomplished."
At first, Todd only shrugged in reply, as he truly was a man of modesty, and he nodded. "It wasn't without..." he trailed off, turning to look at his son again, "sacrifice. Sacrifice and years and years of hard work and dedication."
Keegan frowned at that word - sacrifice. He hated it, though he didn't really know why. He also wasn't sure what his father meant by sacrifice, but the weight of the badge case in his pocket seemed to answer for him, and he removed the object, holding it out for Todd to see. "Is that why you had to stop seven badges into the league challenge?" he asked, though he couldn't help but wonder if it was because of him. "Or was it because you had to worry about your, uh, family?" As much as he wanted to, he couldn't quite find the strength to ask directly if his father had to retire from his trainer career in order to take care of a newborn son. Todd hadn't even given an answer yet and the guilt was already starting to eat Keegan alive from the inside.
"Something like that," Todd answered, easily seeing the guilt-ridden expression on his boy's face. "But it's not what you think."
Keegan scoffed. "You don't know what I'm thinking."
"I think I know my own boy," Todd retorted, but remained calm. "My father - your grandfather - suffered a sudden massive stroke that claimed his life. I had only just won my seventh badge when I found out. Regardless, I had to come home immediately. This business wasn't going to run itself. Believe me, son, your birth had nothing to do with my early retirement as a trainer. If anything, not being on the road so much is probably what led to you being here right now."
The garbled sort of squawk that escaped Keegan's throat in response was hardly human. "Ugh, Dad! Too much information!"
=====
The normally somewhat-timid and shy Miharu had taken a temporary backseat as her confidence once again hit its peak, and she took a step forward, careful to keep within the little box designated for trainers. Jasmine and her steel-clad Pokemon were tough, something the green-haired girl had been expecting. It was almost disheartening to see the Steelix virtually shrug off the previous Razor Leaf, and though it no longer sported the Rock-type as its secondary type, Rock Slide was a very powerful move which almost always carried painful consequences. The rocks cascaded down around Lily, causing serious damage to the Ivysaur, whom in comparison to the mighty Steelix was dwarfed by more than a bit.
"Lily!" Miharu called, her little hands curled tightly into fists. She was shaking, both from the repeated shaking of the stadium around her and because of her own nerves, and she didn't want to see her little diva get hurt. Perhaps she was wrong about being ready for this gym? No! She couldn't afford to think like that; she knew Lily could hold her own. "Fight back with Petal Dance!" she cried, the shrillness of her own voice surprising even herself. Lily gave a cry, her body already glowing with a faint green hue as her Overgrow had been activated, but there was something else stirring inside of her. She reared back on her hind legs before slamming her forelegs down on the busted-up ground, the green glow growing brighter and brighter until the entire gym was bathed in a hot white light.
It didn't last long; fading almost as quickly as it had come, but in its place, instead of an Ivysaur stood an impressive Venusaur. Lily gave a bellowing roar, her newly-blossomed flower shining a vibrant pink before releasing what could only be described as a blistering storm of pink petals, highly accented by her Overgrow ability.
((Due to both Sasha and Bishop being frequent French speakers, out of practicality to the readers, whenever the words are wrapped by "( )", they are speaking in French. This will apply to dialogue heavy scenes.))
"Your butler?" Doe asked with a raised eyebrow. "Is that bad?"
"(I will be out in a minute, Bishop!)" Sasha called out, then darted over to the bed where she began to quickly put on the rest of her clothes. "It could be." she said under her breath, tossing Doe's clothes at her.
"Why?" the girl asked, unnerved that the girl's previously unsinkable confidence and poise seemed to have sprouted a leak.
"I may have, sort of, to a certain point of view, kind of run away from home about a month ago. It's a long story. Well, not really, but too long at the moment." Sasha flashed a nervous smile at Doe, who was still not quite catching on. "Z'hat, and my family doesn't...know about my tastes."
"Oh." the girl replied, the realization sinking in. "Well, to be fair, I didn't know about my own tastes until last night!" she said with a shrug. Sasha smiled at her attempt of levity, but that quickly faded when Doe lowered her head.
"Hey, hey! Listen!" Sasha climbed on the bed and put her hands on the girl's shoulders. "I am not ashamed of you, or what I am. Nor should you be. Ever." She leaned in and gave her a kiss. "My family life is just complicated. A lot is expected of me, including taking up z'he family business when I'm old enough. And it would be kind of hard to run a family business when it's possible that I won't have an actual family of my own. Z'here's a lot of pressure on me, but when I figure it all out, I won't hide it from z'hem, or anyone." Sasha smiled warmly at Doe, gently moving a stray hair from her face. "If z'his is who you really are, z'hen don't let anyone say otherwise. I'll beat z'hem up. I know people." She flexed, letting out an un-lady-like grunt. Doe giggled, looking up at Sasha with adoring eyes.
"You're amazing." she said softly, turning away to not let Sasha see her silly grin.
"I don't know about z'hat." Sasha replied, hooking her bra. "You're z'he one z'hat bedded the millionaire hotel tycoon heiress! I'm going to have to do some work to beat z'hat!" They laughed. "Come on. Let's get dressed. I'll introduce you to Bishop."
