"Yes," Barth said. "I should have told you. But I didn't think it would...change things. There was nothing any of us-" ....could do? Well, not nothing. Barth knew there were things he could have said to draw attention to himself. He could have explained it more thoroughly to Calder, told him why it was important for him to be quiet. He thought that would only change the order it happened. But they never had time for another trip to the chamber, by then things had, as Barth secretly hoped, been interrupted, and all the focus had been transferred to the couch.

If the machine had succeeded, it would have been Calder, and Calder alone, that went into that machine.

"I didn't want it to be you. It shouldn't have been you."

Vieve's head snapped back to stare at Tess. She wasn't in the mood for playing- she rarely was, actually. And right now, the salamander didn't particularly appreciate being screamed at- especially not by a fellow halloweener.

"What," she asked, "too hot for you?"

"Don't be pathetic," the girl added, then turned back to assess the situation. At the present moment the hunters seemed to be regrouping- she was just doing the same, keeping around others from her world.

On hindsight, it was odd that Tess was quaking in fear, when the hunters weren't. Were halloweeners that weak? Something.. had to change, if they wanted to win this. With a soft 'hrmm', Vieve scuffed her paw on the ground, watching as the battle went on. Time to think of some kind of strategy.

Lizzy left just as Hel called for a FEAR healer; she wanted to stay there too, maybe hold Mot's hand and tell him that it was going to be alright, but he already had someone there to attend to him - besides, it seemed like the bright ray of light just summoned the rest of his team to the battlefield... She would just feel out of place there, especially since she wasn't sure if Hel was still... Upset at her or not. And she wasn't about to pull a 'Riley' on her, not when she knew how it felt like.

The hunters might be outnumbered, but she could not help feeling uneasy at how confident Caelius sounded as he called his men to his side...

"Amrita!" She sounded relieved as she held the ghoul, pulling her close like it would help ease some of her worry and pain. It still felt a little odd to hug her when they were about the same height - she refused to admit that little Amrita was kind of taller than her now - but while comforting her, Lizzy found herself being comforted by the undead's mere presence as well.

Vieve's greeting was almost missed in the chaos, but as she released Amrita and turned to look at her teammate, she was about to pull her in for a hug too when she finally figured out why exactly the undead was startled - Vieve had taken her natural form, and while small, she looked like a walking bonfire with legs and wings. She held Amrita closer, patting her head, "This is Vieve - she's made of fire but it's alright... She's a friend."

Turning back to face the salamander, she smiled and greeted in return, "Vieve!" A moment later, she paused, looking worried, like she was just reminded of something, "Did you see Lattice and Edel anywhere?"

A scream from Tess prompted Lizzy to look in her direction instead, her frown deepening ever so slightly as she dragged Amrita over to pull the ghoul in for a group hug, not quite sure what to do with Legs, "Tess! Tess, it's alright! Vieve's on our side - remember that." She knew that it was just an irrational fear for undeads, but... They have more to worry about right now.

Tess was keeping her distance despite the inflammatory remarks from the other ghoul. No, she didn't like fire and even if it was another Halloweener, Vieve was still FIRE. She whimpered and simply clung to Lizzy and Amrita for comfort. Jack she needed this hug so badly, Lizzy had no idea.

Since he had failed in convincing Xiu to stay put, and now she was making her way stubbornly over to her friend, Ren dragged himself back to his feet. He felt lightheaded and exhausted, not to mention completely pathetic. His wings felt absurdly heavy on his back, limply curled against it, and he kept swaying from side to side.

Ren was not that injured - at least not physically, though his head was throbbing and his body ached as though he had run a thousand miles. The desperation still clogged his throat, making it difficult to swallow or even think correctly.

LW. Gabrian. Jove. Tybalt. Where are you?

He staggered a few paces to the side, wearily looking for any sign of red, or of blue or green or anything like that. But all he could see was a faded grey and streaks of brown, blurs of people as they rushed here and there.

Ren's foot hit something, and he very nearly tripped, but his arms swung out to catch himself just in time.

His fingers touched something cool and scaley.

"Gabrian!"

The name was nearly sobbed with relief, Ren flinging his arms around the serpent' neck and burying his face against him.

"I was so worried," he mumbled, then leaned back, peering up at his best friend.

"That creature over there," he said, pointing. "It's Professor Red. She's...I don't know what happened. Demi was trying to explain something about a weapon and her changing, and..."

Ren broke off, his stomach twisting.

"I lost the others," he whispered, desperation and panic straining his voice. "Gabrian, I lost the others, I don't know where they are, or where they went, or what's happened to them, and I - !"

He could not seem to properly calm himself down.

Gale ducked just in time to avoid Bix's braid thwapping him in the face.

"What's up with you?" he asked, peering closely at his friend with a scrutinizing expression. "Why are you running into people?"

His eye moved first from Bix, then over to the teary eyed Before, and Gale gave an exasperated sigh, one hand on his hip. Jinhai made a small noise in his hand, but Gale ignored him.

"You two," he said, in a voice laced with exasperation. "I swear. First one of you goes blind - " A glance here was directed at Before. " - then another one of you goes blind." This time the glance was thrown at Bix, Gale shaking his head. "I swear, between the two of you, we'll be walking with seeing eye dogs during our next mission."

Truthfully, however, Gale was rather relieved to see the both of them, and it seemed at least that Before was acting somewhat like his old self - not to mention the most significant thing so far, which was that Caelius had his weapon back in his hands. The scythe glowed brightly against the darker surroundings, reminding Gale that not everything was quite lost yet.

"So what now?" he murmured to his teammates, lips pressing together in a thin line. "What are we going to do to these...creatures?"

"I saw Lattice," Vieve answered, but refused to say more.

She'd seen the engraver get captured- and then freed, and then she'd gotten lost in the chaos. She didn't want to think too much about it, either; the last time she'd showed any concern for Lattice, she'd gotten herself trapped.

And trapped again, even after breaking free. Clearly the engraver was bad luck.

"I haven't seen Edel anywhere."

There was another with Red. She did not need to think of their name to grab their attention. From the moment she had touched the tablet on Deus Ex, they had been together. One werewolf, one weapon. Their relationship was a complex one, a secret affair that was just between the two of them. For them, conversations were held in an instant. Ideas, thoughts, words -- they had worked and trained together from sunrise to sunset in Halloween and in the Human World, adapting until they could act in unison as one.

But now they had one body between them, one that boasted the best and worst of their respective selves. The long tail of the behemoth lashed as a new thought was brought to their attention, shared, discussed, executed.

Eight
"We can't just leave you! You're one of us! The Red we know wouldn't just give up like this! She's a crazy hands-on-method trainer who makes us push ourselves until we get it right! You can't just...resign yourself to death!"

"No longer," she rumbled in a dual-toned part-Red, part-stranger voice. She kept her eyes on the students, the glow intensifying as she spotted Caelius. "Do you see? How eager they are to kill?" The Hunter's shockwave attack rolled through over her paw. She picked it up and shook it out. Perhaps being large did have its advantages, even if it made her an easier target. A spark seemed to shoot through her glowing glyphs as she continued to stare at the Hunter, her breath coming out in a hiss as the weapon changed into a being --

And then the being was gone. If she could smile, Red would have smirked at the seemingly helpless Death Hunter. For now, she settled for looking down at him with her chin held high.

The students below her were still speaking, still demanding answers from her. It was becoming difficult to hear them over the growl of irritation rising in her throat. At last she angled her head down and snapped at them in irritation. "There is no time you clueless scarelings! Every moment you spend talking is another moment that the enemy --"

iloveyouDIE

"C'mon Hunters! LET'S HUNT!"

The behemoth's head snapped up as Bix shouted his rallying cry. Red's skeletal jaws opened to roar right back at him, her fur bristling. The attacks had begun; there was no time for patience to explain. To answer. To apologize.

But would they even listen

The behemoth snarled as the pieces of meat smacked her jaw. She snarled, snapping at Damien. "CUB! This is no time for games!" Damien distracted her; she was oblivious to the huntress Madison that climbed her ruined legs, the smoking wounds dull to all sensation. The boney spikes on her back also offered no sensation.

Bloodlust Dante

In front of her, Leon took advantage of the situation by swinging his chainsaw at her. The chainsaw rattled off of her massive skull, causing sparks of blue-fire to scatter off of it. Red wasted no time in snapping at the weapon. She bit the weapon as a wolf bites a member of their pack on the nose to put them in their place, shocking the weapon with a burst of cold. The weapon retreats into its desummoned mode!

Bloodlust Dante

Red has bit Leon's weapon! It has retreated into its desummoned mode; Leon cannot summon it next round. His Fear shield is still up, however his weapon is now somewhat traumatized and feeling very, very cold.

Red raised her head up, seeking to get it out of range when --

Sosiqui

She took a deep breath, leaning against the spine and making sure she was reasonably secure in her footing before drawing all four of Kouki's blades. She gathered them up together, like some kind of deadly bouquet, wrapping both hands around the hilts of the gathered blades. She waited, shaking, until the beast raised her head just enough to make things more-or-less level...

Then she lunged forward, terrified and desperate, and drove all four blades directly into the glowing rune on the beast's forehead.

A strangle sound torn violently between a shriek and a wail came from her throat as she reared up, intensifying as Jerry's attack hit it in the torso. She began to flap her wings, tossing her head back and forth. Madison was shaken off. Whether her swords were shaken off or pulled out with the huntress did not matter; one hand rose to sweep across the wound, fingers running across the deep gouge that remained behind. A sense of deja vu settled in as the blue fire within Red flared up, burning freely across her forehead.

<>

The loud voice did not rumble in their chest or cause the canyon walls to shake; it was the sound of a voice heard only in their minds.

<>

The voice was tense, smug. It, no, he knew he was correct. This was the voice that was heard with Red's, a deep masculine voice that was rough. Had it been audible, it would have hurt to listen to him. Would it have been more pleasant if he spoke quieter?

<>

The quiet voice of Red, soft compared to the other. It sounded like a sigh, colored by the motion of wanting to slump the shoulders.

<>

A fact, not an accusation.

<>

Acknowledgment.

<

Interrupted.

<>

A snap of white wolf jaws, a growl. Bristling fur.

There was a pause, lasting as long as a blink.

<>

Curious, a tilt of the head. An attempt to make conversation, to change the topic.

<>

Eyes closed, a glance to one side. Defeat.

<>

Another pause. One's imagination could feel a gentle bump, a brush that indicated that one was now standing shoulder-to-shoulder with another person. It was warm; they were here for you.

<>

Even though it felt like a minute, the thoughts flashed through everyone's mind in an instant. The creature bowed her head, the glow dimming.

The whistling hunter axe hurled by Ennéa spun as it sliced through the air, spinning end over end before slamming into the behemoth's face. The beast roared not in pain.

But rather in pure fury.

There was a visible change to the creature; the way it held its head and moved. There was a raw power at work here, multiplied as she, no, it held its wings up, curling forwards for intimidation and to increase the volume of its already loud voice.

"YOUR TIME IS ENDING," it, no, he now boomed. There was no trace of Red in its voice. Would she have looked on with approval? Or would she have given in to her despair and turned her back on them, hands clasped to her face?

"I WILL FINISH THIS. I WILL SAVE THEM. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY; LET ME SHOW YOU."

Was he speaking to the Hunters? Or was he addressing Red?

The behemoth began to flap its wings, its eyes moving from the crowd before it to the white light of new arrivals. A nod went to them; he will save them too. He would save them all.

The beast pumped the wings harder, taking off. It did not mind the incoming attacks; it did not pay anyone heed. The skeletal jaws opened, the blue fire within already rising in height and temperature. The fire it used was an abomination just like its master: it was hot and cold at the same time. It burned just as much as it froze.

Contemplation ended as the creature roared, sending blue fire onto the entire battlefield. This fire was fiercer, more dangerous than the fire that came from her flamethrower. This was more painful than the fire both Red and the mysterious voice summoned at the very beginning of this battle.

No, this fire had a purpose. If Red could not save them through fire, her weapon would save them through death.

The attack was over quickly. While it felt like it had been drawn out for hours, such a powerful attack had taken only thirty-two seconds before the creature landed, taking an additional opportunity to breathe fire onto itself.

The OOC

Those in the Couch Domain do NOT hear the former weapon's voice, nor can they hear Red's (right and center aligned text). It was only heard by those alive on the battlefield, as it was telepathic.

EVERYONE PLEASE ROLL A 12-SIDED DICE

EVERYONE must roll a 12-sided dice. Please read 'DEATH AND YOU FROM THIS POINT ON' for instructions regarding death at this point.

1: You didn't move. The fire moves too quickly. The pain is intense, and yet in a moment it's over. You are now dead. See the next quotebox for instructions.

2: As the fire heads towards you, you can feel something... strange happen. You can feel the fire as it burns you, but your HP is undamaged. It won't be until later that you find the injury: You cannot use any FEAR ability for the next THREE battles you get into. These battles must be completed with one victorious party; fleeing from battle or having an opponent flee does not count.

3: The force of the fire takes you by surprise. You are damaged for 75% of your MAXIMUM HP VALUE. (Y1: 23 dmg, Y2/Trainees: 30 dmg, Horsemen: 45 dmg)

4: You catch the fringes of the fire. The only thing you have to show for it is a thin layer of frost that coats your entire being. -2 HP damage.

5: You manage to duck behind a rock, however the rock shatters beneath the combined pressures of both hot and cold temperatures. The shards of rock explode and hit you for -5 HP damage!

6: The force of the fire takes you by surprise. You are damaged for 75% of your CURRENT HP VALUE.

7: YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS:
xxx 1) You manage to duck behind a rock. You are injured for half of your current HP.
xxx 2) You turn and tackle somebody, knocking them down and shielding them. While you saved them, you have died in the process; see the next quotebox for death information. This may only be used for someone who has NOT ROLLED YET.

8: Somehow you managed to avoid the fire. Most of it, at least. Except you're now ON fire. Roll 1d6. You must roll a 1 or 6 to put the fire out. Every time you do not put the fire out, you suffer -3 HP damage. Thus if you must roll three times to put the fire out, your total damage is -9.

9: It hurts. This is NOT what you had in mind of being saved. Take -10 HP.

10: The fire burns with an indescribable temperature. There is a brief flash of pain, then nothing. It happened too quickly, but you are now dead. Please see next quotebox.

11: So this is what it feels like; being both burned and frozen alive at the same time. It is painful and quick, and will most likely be relived through your nightmares. You have died. Please see next quotebox.

12: You can feel yourself catch on fire, however you were wise and took cover behind a rock right when the behemoth began to fly up. At worst you have a couple of small blue fires on you which you pat out quickly. Your hand feels cold, but the area where the fires were feels warm. No damage; luck you.

DEATH AND YOU FROM THIS POINT ON

HALLOWEEN:
If you dissipate, please proceed to the Domain of Couch. Red did tell you to run; the attack (while painful) did ensure that you are now out of there in a (relatively) safer place. Unfortunately Red doesn't have any bandaids for that sense of betrayal you may or may not be feeling right now.

Remember, dissipation occurs ICly at -10 HP! Your character falls unconscious at -5. If you hit 0, you're still alive~

HUNTERS:
Old death rules still apply to you:
Quote:
HUNTERS: Upon reaching 0, your weapon's Fear shield goes down as usual. If hit beyond 0, your weapon becomes paralyzed with the Insanity. It's dark. Where are you? You can't see anything. You can't hear anything. Where is your weapon? You... You are alone for the first time in many months. Are you... dead?

If you are dead and are hit with a heal, you are brought back to life! It feels like slowly waking up, but... you're still rather... cold. It's a noticeable cold that just won't go away, and becomes more and more noticeable the more you die and wake up again.

There is NO targetting Red this round; everyone is too busy being burninated to attack!

Damage totals will be edited in at another point in time~
PostPosted: Thu Nov 03, 2011 9:30 am

Caelius had moved his surviving group together for only one reason: intimidation. Alone, it was easy to feel lost. To show signs of weakness. And it was the weakness that they preyed on.

The Death Hunter was tired. He forced himself through weariness, even his weapon was absorbing some of his pain now, but the most difficult part was masking the agony. This was what lay in store for the other trainees, to fight beyond breaking point, to fight until death. To fight beyond, and know beyond the line, there was nothing waiting for them.

' Master. I am recovered but-'

'I know Circe.' He raised his weapon. But it was too late.

Though their attacks had seemed ineffective, though the Amity students had been practically bowled over by the Death Hunter, they had done their job.

By the time Caelius turned to Red, it was too late.

The flames burst, an inferno around them: he barely had time to stand his own ground, his weapon planted in front of him, attempting to literally cleave a path through. The Death Hunter might have called out something to the trainees - perhaps a warning that sounded like - "Your weapons" - but it was drowned out by the roar of fire, coiling around them hungrily, blistering their hands, feet, anything they could touch. And at the same time, they left an odd trail of frostbite in their wake.

The attack seemed to surge forever, even the resummoned Circe could barely push back, the flames finally knocking the Death Hunter to one knee. He coughed for a second, spitting out more blood, and his eyes half-closed involuntarily. For him, there was no regret, or even a sense of fear of death. Just a void, as always.

- And then it was over. Caelius dropped to both knees, weapon clattering against the ground. Both his hands and arms suffered blisters and though his cloak was designed to be Fear proof, it fluttered and simmered around him, frayed and worn. The Death Hunter struggled to stand, spitting out more blood before angrily wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. It took him all his energy - even with his scythe supporting him the entire time - to simply stand.

Had Red won and finally protected all her students or simply doomed everyone, it seemed like the same thing after all.

THE AFTERMATH

- With such incredible burn injuries, the survivors could use a Fear attack, but shouldn't they be taking care of each other first?
- Both Red and Caelius are still susceptible to damage, and are in fact, vulnerable to it... but it is hard to tell friend from foe in the charred, smoky aftermath.

FEAR Fluctuation:

Somehow Red's very presence is causing the Fear in the area to fluctuate and act uncontrollably. Every round, a dice will be rolled to determine what effect occurs. Some effects are beneficial; others are not.

Known Effects:
1: All attacks, including Red's, do only 50% damage! Divide all damage totals by two.
2: ???
3: For this round, everything except Red has become greyscale; only Red's glowing eyes and runes are colored. All colors return to normal after this.
4: ???
5: Insanity Spike! Everyone takes 3 damage.
6: The combined energies of both Fear and Insanity swirl around Red. For a brief instant, it looks as if Red's fur turned white again; but it is gone, and all that remains is the creature that was formerly Red attacking everyone and everything in sight. No effect.
7: Fear Surge! Everyone recovers 5 health; hunter weapons GAIN one charge.
8: ???

THIS ROUND'S EFFECT

Fear Surge! Everyone recovers 5 health; hunter weapons GAIN one charge. This is to be applied AFTER the fire roll. If you are a Halloweener and you die, YOU ARE STILL DEAD. If you are a Hunter and you die, your HP goes to 0. Your Fear shield took all the damage; the worst you felt was the extreme heat/cold at the same time.

If unsure, please ask HERE.

((11: So this is what it feels like; being both burned and frozen alive at the same time. It is painful and quick, and will most likely be relived through your nightmares. You have died. Please see next quotebox.))

Too many things happening, all at once. The voice inside her head, and the voices outside, speaking altogether.

She couldn't understand what was happening. For a moment she'd gloated as Red lashed out at the hunters, but then the voice had spoken, talked about saving them.

Them.. who?

The answer seemed clear enough, but Vieve couldn't possibly be happy with an answer like that. She didn't want to be chased out; she could.. still fight. Or rather, she wanted to. She couldn't let it end so half-heartedly; even if she'd fallen at the hands of someone on her own side, instead of being captured, it felt like cheating.

And what was with this fire, anyway? It surrounded her, and she knew better than to expect it not to hurt- after all, it'd burned her once before. But she would have been fine with fire hotter than her own, as much as she didn't like the idea.

This fire, though, it was.. cold. The sort of chill that enveloped you, making you smaller and smaller, eating away at you. Until all that was left was a small, spiky ruby, surrrounded by wispy blue flames.

As Vieve turned back into her student form, she felt utterly powerless. Curling up in the fire, she felt even her tears freezing up. Everything hurt. Closing her eyes, the salamander let herself dissipate, her body turning to dust that was devoured by the blue flames.

Next time she would get them all. Next time, she would be stronger than Red.

Gritting his teeth, Shun felt himself being pushed up into a sitting position. Soon after, he felt something warm and furry trying to push him up as well. Well that explained where Mitsu had gone but ..

"No.. put me down..." he hissed, "Mitsu.. Xiu.. Get. Out. Of. Here."

While yes, he probably could walk with some help, he was going to slow them down by a lot.

Lifting his head as suddenly voices blared into his mind.. one in which he did not recognize. What was going on now? The Reaper's eyes moved on about but he still couldn't see much more than dark blobs all around.

"I WILL FINISH THIS. I WILL SAVE THEM. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY; LET ME SHOW YOU."

Wait... what?

And then all of the sudden, something bright flooded the area. Somehow, the Reaper only caught onto the fringes of flame, which oddly left him feeling chilled afterwards. It was followed up by feeling FEAR surge through him, easing some of the pain.

There had been so much going on, with people running to-and-fro with their many conversations. Savior had quickly lost sight of Holly as the ghost-fox ran off to meet someone, but she knew she was still there - Savior's scent clung to her and at least one more person. . . . but only one other, shouldn't there have been two? Something in the Marrowstripe's mind told her there should have been another in that number but this wasn't the time, not the place. The weird monster was on the move again, speaking? Yelling? Savior didn't understand, and then -

All she could feel was pain. It was unlike anything she'd ever felt before, even without her memory there to back her up, and as her flesh popped and sizzled on her own body the monster let out a cry of pain and dropped down, doing everything she could to try and stop the sensation. It hurt to be on the ground, it would hurt to stand, and combined with the wounds that she had received earlier Savior was in very bad shape. She couldn't even open her mouth to cry out, her mask a charred piece of skin against her face, and for a brief moment in time the Marrowstripe might have actually started to cry.

The good news was that the burns had sealed up her cuts and other injuries! Yay for two with one stone!

[ First dice for Gale, second for Ren ]

"What - " Gale started to say to Bix, but the words were left unfinished, never to be answered. There was a horrible sound, like something bursting into flames, something crackling and scorching. A terrible blue fire cascaded down over him and the rest of the hunters, the students, everyone.

<< RUN! >> Jinhai screamed desperately, but it was too late.

White hot pain seared through Gale like being stabbed with a poker, and with a flash of white light the sniper rifle disappeared, returning to its unsummoned form. He gave a scream of pain, doubling over as his body shook violently, gasping for a few last, desperate breaths of air, anything -

Please make it stop.

It was all over quickly, however, and Gale Gentry collapsed lifelessly to the ground.

He didn't know where the voice was coming from. Crouched there, his arms still wrapped around Gabrian's neck, Ren's fingers tightened on the serpent, panic beginning to settle like a hard weight in his stomach.

"No..." he whispered hoarsely. The creature who had formerly been Professor Red swayed, and then, with a flap of great, leathery wings, it was airborne, soaring out above them.

Heat scorched the ground, the students, everything. And Ren, quite suddenly, found himself engulfed in flames.

He let go of Gabrian in an instant, a long, horrible scream escaping his throat, raw and desperate. Pure and utter agony filled his head, nothing else but sheer pain, a pain like nothing he'd ever felt before. His fingers grappled for his arms, wanting to tear the fire off, wanting to disappear, to never feel this sort of mind-numbing pain ever again.

"GABRIAN!"

The shriek managed to burst out just before he blinked out of sight and into nothingness.

FEAR Attack: A certain tone of Ren's voice can cause bursts of air to slice towards his opponent. It's more powerful when his opponent is within visual and vocal range, but again depends on how energetic the both of them are. ]

She froze when the beast started to talk again - this time, she could hear the professor as well as another voice. However, the voices seemed to be in her head rather than coming from from the beast's mouth, and she stared on in horror as the beast boomed - a man's voice! It was that voice from earlier, except now, she could not hear the professor.

What did he mean by-

Fire.

It was ironic how fire always seemed to be the one killing her whenever she went on a field trip. DC's mummy killed her with a fireball on the Christmas field trip, a trap that engulfed her in flames killed her on the island field trip, and now? A beast had set the whole battleground on fire - blue flames that would be pretty to look at if it didn't hurt her. She might be cold blooded but the sheer temperature of the flames made it seem like she was had magma running through her veins - burning, burning, burning.

It all happened so fast that she wasn't sure if she even had even time to scream in pain before the flames swallowed her whole and she dissipated into FEAR particles. There were no flashbacks, no goodbyes, no nothing.

Just a lingering sadness.

She heard the voice, she felt the disappointment and the irritation. Red's submitting to her fate was alarming and the male bellow from the beast's mouth was terrifying. The flames, however blue they might have been, scared her so badly she couldn't speak, but...

Once it was over? Amrita couldn't express any emotion other than complete and utter confusion.

The fire touched her. IT TOUCHED HER, and there was no stench of burning flesh, no pain. In fact, she felt cold. Like, her room in the Undead Basement cold. Even worse, she...she felt better than she did before the attack! She didn't know how to handle this, and so she just froze, staring like a doe in the headlights.

Her entire life was a lie.

AMRITA IS SUPER CONFUSED

But miraculously goes back to full HP! Amrita's at 40/40!
