"Ahaha...I suppose, though.. there are so many off-worlder's here that have that gift..it's almost common to see. " She glanced down at the little paper figure, did she seriously just feel a tinge of guilt for a magical little paper person? Yes, yes she did! "Aww, i'm sorry...Thank you, little paper-person..! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings!" How did paper have feelings? Boy did she look very silly right now! Turning her attention back to Vashear, she blinked, slightly amused at his description. "Um, yes..that's it." She paused a moment. "Shiva, the summon? Well, they are kind of contained in sphears called Materia, with these we can call on a particular summon to help us in extra dangerous battles..There's all kinds of Materia for the use of magic..though I don't use any, so i'm not the best to explain how they work. "

Vashear sighed, "What kind of place is this?" he got here thinking it was just a furan land mass with ancient ruins on it and found a full city in another world full of off worlders. The little paper figure just waved her off as it unfolded it's self onto the pile of paper on the ground. "These little guys always have a personality of there own, almost as alive as you or me." Vashear reached down and picked up the stack of paper where all the little paper men had gone and unfolded themselves. Vashear rose a brow at the Hina. "You house the grand eidolons in spheres?" he asked her inquisitively, the thought of housing one in a ball made him think that they could potently trap him in one as well, and he was trying to help one of them on his trip which happened to be Shiva. "Do you know anyone that would be able to tell me more about these 'Materia'?"

"It's strange, I know.." Should she tell him she was from the future too? Make his head explode from all the crazy information he wasn't ready for! "Even places from the people that come here, places from their worlds have kind of shown up around area's of this world. It's been going on for several years.." She glanced back down to the little paper person, only to return her attention back to Vashear. " That's amazing.." A tiny bit creepy, too! She would have to get used to the fact that paper could be given back life with little effort at the efforts of Vashear. "Umm, that is the way this world is able to call them for help..but, others from other worlds have other methods as well. As for who can tell you more, I would think anyone in this city that has fighting abilities can tell you, or someone at the mansion, but the more skilled in the materia might not be there. They're kind of always busy..I think someone in this city should be able to help you, though.."

Vashear sighed and shook his head. "So now I'm living in the ramblings of a senile old mans mad ravings?" he asked himself this world would be the adventure he had been clamming to want for centuries but not quite how he had expected it to be. "And to think you've only seen what paper can do." given it was a good thing she didn't see him do that with a corpse, though children seemed to love what he could do with stuffed animals. "So people can rip a superior being down from there throne and force them to do battle and cast spells without forging a pact with an eidolon, that's absurd." and that's coming from a man who can breath life into most anything. "So the mansion you speak of, this Shinra that's over this world, and some of the more adept battle masters are your recommendations for information?" It was clear his mind was running a mile a minute attempting to process some of the information she had given him trying to link it back to things he knew for a reference point and failing. "A tavren might also be another good place to start." he thought aloud debating on weather or not it would be easier to deal with a lot of drunken people, and turn what this girl said to be nothing more then the wild imagination of a child.

"Hmm? What do you mean? Can you make other things come to life like the paper? " Like, what kind of things? She couldn't think of one thing that made sense, and her mind definitely wasn't going to wander into dead bodies! It was bad enough they had one necromancer. "Um, I wouldn't put it like that. They aren't...slaves or something, if that's what you're thinking. I don't understand it myself, but I really don't think of them like that. They keep us safe, I don't know. I feel like they enjoy to be able to help us, surly they wouldn't if they were angry and doing something by force.." Talking about this sure started to make her wonder, though. How did they Really feel? "No, no, not the people in the ShinRa building. I wouldn't trust them, and i'd keep away from them. I really don't know what's going on there these days, but it's always best to keep away anyway. As for the ones in the mansion, and others you might see walking around the city with obvious skills, would be the best to ask. Oh! You could tell who has Materia, just look at their weapons. If you see colorful orbs in their weapons, that would be the person to ask." She paused a moment. "It's a big city..you should find the information you need without to much trouble."

Vashear walked past her as opposed to answer her with words he'd let his magic speak for him, his 2 long bundles of hair reached up on each side of her, then fell back to how they were hanging behind him once more. "As long as it was once alive it's rather simple to return to it a memory of life." Vashear shook his head, "A man trains a dog to protect his family and brings it home, not knowing the family it's meant to protect it bites the child that pulls it's tail and it's put down for defending it's self. you might call it a pet, but it's just another word for slave." that being said he did have several war hounds when he was a part of the military that he refrained from using as much as possible. "A croup government would have the info I seek with ease I'm sure, long term hassle, those with skill in combat may be the last of my days, and asking a novice or a child with a ball might be pointless." If only Vashear knew how to read this worlds writings, or how to use that phone he had in his pocket he could pull up this information rather easily, not sure how to go about gathering information in a forin land where he neither had the right currency or could read the language. Vashear stopped to rub his temples clearly over thinking things.

"..? " Hina's eyes widened slightly. She couldn't seem to figure out rather to be creeped out or amazed. It may of been more creepier if he was just some stranger she only met a second ago, but, having gotten to know the mysterious one of impressive magic, it didn't seem to creepy anymore. "Ah,haha...You are full of interesting things aren't you. Hair moving on it's own might scare people around here, so be careful with that one. " She said as a playful warning.
"But, i'm not saying the summons they use here are pets..No one thinks of them like that, i'm sure..or a slave. I don't think any of those who call them would still be standing if they were held as slaves, or pets! " They would probably be eaten, or frozen if they ticked off one of the great summons they so heavily relied on in this world. "A-Anyway, I'm hardly an expert, as I said. Just get the information you want from a safer source, not that I can tell you who to talk to, just..you know, be careful.."

"Though using caution takes the joy out of life." Vashear said with a slight chuckle, "How else dose one find the hidden pleasures in the world" he figured it would be best to ignore her next comment about the summons for he might be considered one depending on how this world came to view him if ifrit and shiva were considered as such. He walked up to the front row of pews and sat on one putting his right foot across his knee, "Maybe not an expert, though you clearly have some knowledge" he pulled out a pen and scribbled something on a sheet of paper. "Seeing as the air around this town looks to be heavy with ash, do you think someone around here would be able to call forth lord Ifrit, or at least a pyromancer that had formed some kind of pact with him in order to gain control over the flames?" he asked with a hint of greed in his voice. The sheet of paper folded it's self into a bird, Vashear awaiting her response.

Cloud Strife

"All right everyone, let's mosey."

User Image

"...I can't today." Cloud's head shot to the side as he pulled the phone away from his ear, as the person on the other end shouted at him. Letting out a sigh, the young man brought the phone back to his ear. "I know. It's a big day for Marlene, but I can't just drop everything and come out today, Barret. I'm... planning to visit the church today." A small silence came on over the phone. "...Yeah." Today was the anniversary of the death of someone who had been very dear to all of them, murdered by the madman they had put a stop to years ago. Cloud had had issues with the idea of going into the church again, but thanks in no small part to Tifa, he had worked up the nerve to do it again. "Tell Marlene I'm sorry, alright? And tell her I know she'll do great." Barret gave him some kind of smack along the lines of, "she'd do great without your stupid blessing," but Cloud couldn't help but smile slightly. "You're right."
After saying his goodbyes, and closing his phone, it was a short walk to come before the familiar, run-down building. He checked his phone again to see a text from Tifa: "Are you sure you're okay?" Cloud rolled his eyes, pocketing his phone. She worried too much.
He took a deep breath, and stepped through the doors again for the first time in... a long time.
It was a short walk until he came upon the small bed of flowers, still blooming decently. Marlene had been taking care of them since Sephiroth and Jenova had been defeated, but Barret and her recently moved, so they might not last forever if no one did anything.
"..." He took a deep breath. "...It's me." He said at last. "Can you hear me? ...I don't know. You and Zack, you're together, right? ...I hope so. I know you wanted to see him again... I... I wish I could, too..." His hand tightened into a fist for a moment, trying to hold back his emotions, but he relaxed after a moment. "I haven't been here in a while. Sorry, it's just... been a bit difficult. I won't lose sight of who I am, though. Not like I did before.... when I pretended to be someone I wasn't. I guess you never really met the real me, did you? Zack has probably filled you in. The real me... isn't as cool as I wanted to be. But I'm trying. It's hard, remembering you two, but I'll get past it. Tifa's been helping me... I'm grateful to have her. But I can't tell her that. It's embarrassing. I'm supposed to be the reliable one." That's what he had wanted to seem like, anyway. Back during the beginning of their adventure. His façade had fallen apart after Aerith's death, though. "...I'm not much for one-sided conversations, but I guess it can't be helped. I'll come back, though. I know I need to. And, you two... ...?!" Cloud felt a sudden surge of wind that almost knocked him to his back, his boots skidding against the floor of the church as he was pushed back a bit. In front of him, he saw the energy of the planet--the Lifestream--coalescing and converging on one spot. "...What...?!" What in the world was going on...?

The Lifestream would continue to gather in that one location, growing much more intense as they began to form into one massive sphere. It only remained for seconds before it would break off into thousands of tiny little orbs, disappearing into the air. It was hardly the Lifestream's pretty light show that was most interesting however, It was what was now laying on the ground, exactly where the center of the Lifestreams activity was.
Many strange things happened in this world, but noting was more puzzling, more mind blowing then what was happening right now, all around the world. Lives lost were now being restored, just as the young Cetra's was..
For a moment there, she didn't seem to be awake. Coming back to life was a...unique process, it probably wasn't the most comfortable experience in the world! After several moments, Aerith's deep green eyes slowly opened, seeming a little dazed. As if it was taking her some time to really adjust her mind on what was happening, this was a lot to take in suddenly! She could feel the hardness of the floor, and see the beautiful prisms in the air the stained glass windows created, and the scent of her beloved flowers still growing there. Everything was so real, it felt real, but was it REALLY real? As she slowly sat up, she began to take in her surroundings..
And her searching eyes didn't need to look far before they settled on a very special person, someone she and Zack tended to watch over often. "Cloud.." Again, she couldn't stop her mind from thinking about what was happening, was this really real? Was she somehow alive? What about Zack? She wouldn't just be pulled away from him, and returned to life without him. How horrible would that be? It was strange, she should be happy to have this second chance at life, but the thought of Zack remaining there, alone again, really bothered her. "...Cloud...?? ..Is this...real? " Had Cloud gotten close to her, she would lightly brush her hand against his arm. There was warmth, he was very much there...and she was...very much alive..."..I can't believe this...you are really here...and so am I.." She wanted to grab him into the tightest hug, but there was still that worry eating at her. How could she really be happy like this? "...But, Zack..."

Cloud Strife

"All right everyone, let's mosey."

User Image

It was a surge of different emotions that washed over Cloud in that moment. The young woman laying in the field of flowers was one who was obviously familiar to him, and yet it took several long moments for his mind to register what it was he was looking at. She had been gone for so long, it was almost hard to recognize her again at first sight. "...What?!" He stumbled backwards slightly from the shock to his system. What was happening? It was sad go say that, his first thoughts once he realized who he was looking at was that someone was playing some cruel trick on him. But who would even be capable of that?
But when her voice spoke his name again, for the first time in so long, he couldn't believe this was anything except the woman who had died in his arms one year ago to the day. "Aerith..." He could barely move. He could barely speak. What was he supposed to say? What was he supposed to do? "This isn't... real..." After a short moment of silence, Cloud bared gritted teeth. "I'm..." His eyes closed, and his body began to tremble. What a look for the mercenary who had once sold himself on the cool, fake stories he gave people. "I'm sorry..." He did everything he could to keep the tears back. He had always imagined what he would have said if he ever saw her again, somehow. But no matter how he may have scripted out his response in his idle thoughts, nothing could prepare him for the feelings that hit him at seeing a dear, departed friend. "I just... stood there and did nothing..." As if the first thing she wanted to hear was a pathetic apology. But he had to say it. He had to say it as quickly as possible, because if this moment wouldn't last forever, and she would be gone again in the next second, he didn't want to regret what he hadn't said. "I couldn't do anything...!!" He brought up an arm to cover his face. God, what a mess... he didn't look much like a fearless leader right now. "But I fought so hard... I stopped them... Did you see? You, and Zack... I wanted to... protect this world that you two left to me..." He shook his head, letting out a deep breath. "I'm sorry..." Everything he did afterwards didn't make up for failing to save her, to save Zack, to save his mother... but he succeeded. He protected the world. ...
This moment would be forced to come to an end, though, as the ground began to shake violently moments after Aerith had rematerialized. "...?!" Cloud had to brace himself on one of the pews to keep himself from falling. Luckily, Aerith wasn't standing, so she should be fine. What in the world was happening today? After a surprising several moments, the shaking would slowly subside, leaving a very confused Cloud and probably a few people across the world with some bumps and bruises. "...Are you okay?" She was still here, at least... for the moment. "What's happening..." That earthquake was far more alarming than any he had ever experienced in Midgar, that was for sure. That alone was noteworthy, but the fact that it happened moments after Aerith had apparently been revived... could this really be a coincidence?
Turning away for a moment to wipe away the tears that had gathered, Cloud cleared his throat, attempting to regain his composure. "I don't know what's going on, but... if you're here, maybe..." Maybe Zack would be, too. "We should go talk to Tifa about this..." He suggested. It would be something he would need to tell EVERYONE about, obviously... but he knew Tifa was in Midgar. Everyone else, he wasn't sure. "I'll-" He was interrupted by the ringing of the phone in his pocket. What could this be about? Pulling out the phone, he opened it, putting it to his ear.

"Wow, some quake, wasn't that!"
"Reno? ...I thought you and Rude were investigating something around Nibelheim."
"We were." Rude's voice confirmed the phone was on speaker. "The earthquake happened across the world."
"Yeep, your reaction pretty much confirms that..." A long sigh followed his words, and left Cloud in further disbelief. An earthquake that went across the entire world...? "Wasn't caused by the earth shifting, I don't think."
"What?"
"The Lifestream. We saw a lot of that energy flying across the sky."
"In our business, information's important. We followed it as best we could, and, well... there's some big hole in the sky now."
"...A big... Is this some sort of joke?"
"I'll send you a picture. And the coordinates. You might want to come check this out. Something tells me the year of calm we've had is about to come to an end. And I doubt it'll get better before it gets worse."
Cloud glanced over his shoulder at Aerith, before turning back. "I'm not so sure." Before Reno could say much, Cloud interrupted him. "Just send me that information." And he hung up. "..." He took a few steps towards Aerith, as he received the image on his phone--an image of some large... hole in the sky. It looked like a tear in fabric. "..." This day was becoming more and more bizarre. "I have to go." He told Aerith. "Go to Seventh Heaven. Explain things to Tifa. She'll let you stay there while I figure this out." Why was he even trying? He knew where this was going to go. But...
He sent a message to Cid on his phone, asking him to bring in the Highwind and park it outside of Midgar. This was a bit of an emergency.

This was a lot to take in, for the both of them. Her mind was still processing how this was even possible, but nothing seemed to make any sense. It was for certain however, that it was real. Some miracle she would never understand. "..I don't understand how this is possible...but it is me...I'm here, somehow..." She just hoped and prayed she wasn't alone. Aerith's gentle green eyes fell into concern as her dear friend began to tremble, and his eyes filled with tears, despite how hard he seemed to be trying to keep them back. She had never seen Cloud so emotional, and while she didn't want to see his heart so filled with such unnecessary guilt, she felt very touched by his words. But she couldn't allow him to keep this pain bottled up inside any longer. "Cloud..." She slowly got to her feet, and before Cloud could try to take a step away, he would feel her arms settle around him in a comforting, warm embrace. "Do you think I ever blamed you? Cloud....Don't you know me at all? " She asked him softly. "I would never have blamed you for anything. What happened then, it couldn't be stopped..I always felt in my heart, I was here for something...A destiny I could not escape, nor did I want to if it meant I could help save this planet.." She slowly let him go, but remained close to him as she took hold of his hand. "And Cloud..." She smiled. "You saved me in more ways then you seem to know. " And that wasn't just the rescue Cloud and the team got together to save her from ShinRa. "I got to see so much during my time with you and everyone. I never had so much fun, or felt so alive. " The fun of traveling, and even more fun at the Gold Saucer. Making so many friends, when all she had was her adoptive mother before she met him. She never seen the outside world outside of Midgar, until she met him and Tifa. "It's time for you to let go of that guilt. You are so very dear to me, and Zack..You know that, don't you? A hero of the world should not hold unnessesary guilt! " She said with a smile, attempting to bring a little light of the situation. "We did see you, I wanted to say how proud I was of you, and everyone..I knew you would protect this world. You've continued to do so all this time, haven't you? "
Only seconds after her last words, unfortunately their moment would have to come to a end as the ground under their feet began to shake violently! Unfortunate she was standing now, but she was fortunate to have been able to grab onto Clouds arm, who was holding onto one of the pews at the same time! As it began to cease, she realeased his arm and took a step back to better regain her composure. "..." She nodded to his question of concern. "I'm sorry..I didn't hurt you? " If Aerith hurt him with her strength, that might be pretty sad! "..Tifa..is she near by? " Part of her just wanted to put whatever alarming situation may of been coming, and just reunite with her friends. But she knew that would not be right, they needed to stop whatever terror might be coming, and she couldn't ask to such a thing right now.
But before they could start on looking for Tifa, Clouds phone rang. "...? " Luck would have it, the church was so very quiet, quiet enough to hear the voices on the other end. Those voices, voices she would not soon forget! Waiting until he hung up, Aerith's head tilted curiously. "Are you on good terms with Reno? " It was strange to think the Turks were on good terms with Avalanche! "Hmm? ...Just like last time! " Aerith's stubbornness was still very much as bad as it was then. "I think I will go with you, and so will Tifa! You won't leave me behind, Cloud! " And to prove she meant business, Aerith was quick to move in right behind him, and started to give him little shoves forward. "You take us to Tifa! " Cloud was now Aerith's hostage, it seemed.

Cloud Strife

"All right everyone, let's mosey."

User Image

Obviously, Cloud knew she didn't feel any anger towards him. He knew her well enough to assume that much. Still... how could he not apologize? "..." He pulled his hand away from her. "Thanks." He said, not trying to seem rude, but... he felt a severe need to get away from this conversation. He appreciated what she was saying, but it was very difficult to see her smile and say thank you when talking about his failure as a bodyguard. He wasn't going to let this issue stop him from moving forward, but that didn't mean it would be easy to move past, either. Not yet.
Their conversation would have to come to an end, however, as some new difficulty demanded their attention. Given it happened moments after she apparently resurrected, it was a wonder if these two things were connected...
As Cloud hung up the phone from his call with Reno, Aerith's question earned her a roll of the eyes. "Good terms... right." It was a bit difficult for him to be on good terms with anyone who worked for Shinra. "Rufus was killed last year, before we stopped Sephiroth. Shinra's been in disarray since. Lot of their people leaving and deserting, not enough manpower. Some of the Turks drop me info on problems. Someone has to take care of it, and there arene't many SOLDIERs left." As far as he knew, that was exactly what had happened. As Aerith did a very Aerith thing, Cloud let out an irritated grunt. As if he expected anything else. "I don't have time to argue this... fine. Just don't put yourself in any danger." He motioned for her to follow him, as he exited the church. How was Tifa going to react to all of this...? "Tifa," he said after opening his phone and dialing her number. "You felt what just happened. Reno says it's more than just an earthquake. The Highwind is parked outside of Midgar. Meet me there. If any of our... friends are in the city, they can come, too. They'll... want to see this." Friends being those who helped during the conflict a year prior, of course. He didn't know if any of them were in Midgar or not. In typical Cloud fashion, he barely waited for a response or said "goodbye" before hanging up the phone. Very polite, as always!

It may of been her time away, that her senses of her surroundings had gone from incredibly good, to very poor. Growing up, she almost always knew when she was being followed, always being under the watchful eye of the Turks. Most of the time she went on, pretending she never knew they were following her. This time, however, she really was completely oblivious to the two following her! Luckily they were friends, though she would definitely need to work on watching her surroundings again.
Stopping at the large church doors, she took a moment. Would he be here? ...Her anxious heart hoped so much, that the moment those doors were opened, she would see her hero waiting there for her. Finding that courage, Aerith finally pulled one door open. The light from outside filled the entire church, even catching some of the stained glass windows and creating prisms along the walls and floors. She remained standing in that doorway for several moments, before fully stepping inside.."Zack?" She called out softly, stepping further inside. There was the back of the church, and while that was unlikely for him to be back there, she couldn't leave without just checking.."...Zack? Hellloooo? " This wasn't what she hoped for, of course not. There was nothing but the sounds of the creaking floor under her boots.

Sephiroth

"All that you know could be an illusion."

User Image

Upon opening the doors to the quiet, abandoned church, Aerith's eyes might come upon a sight she had hoped to never see again. Standing in front of the flowers, his back turned to her--a man with long, silver hair, and a black outfit. Perhaps the most obvious giveaway to the identity of this person was the very, very long katana that he held backwards as he stood there, gazing up through the hole in the roof. The very same weapon that had taken Aerith's life a year ago.
The sound of the doors opening wasn't something easy to miss, and it called the former SOLDIER's attention, as he turned around to see the brown-haired girl at the entrance. "..." He turned to face her fully, now. "...Is this place yours?" He asked at last. "I assumed this place was abandoned..." It certainly didn't seem to be upkept, but... this was probably not the way Aerith expected Sephiroth to react to her presence. "...I woke up here a short time ago. In the middle of these flowers..." His right hand balled into a fist, as he seemed to be having some kind of trouble. "...I feel like I was doing something important... but I can't remember. I can't remember anything." Him awakening here, in the middle of these flowers, and with amnesia. What sort of miracle was this? ...Was it possible this was an accident? That it just happened? "I suppose I should leave, if I'm in your way."
