{{Ok, I seriously have nothing to do right now, and since some people aren't posting anymore (but thank you for those of you that are, and a lot of posting at that!), so I'm going to move Ever to night. Those of you still in a scene PLEASE continue!!! Don't hurry yourselves along to catch up. You know how long I can make certain scenes. wink The longer I can make it, the more fun I'll have. lol! So take your time! No need to rush your characters to night!}}
Ever nodded and stood back up with her book bag over her shoulder. "Alright, fine. My 'incident' known as birth will be put behind us. Whatever. And even if you were mortal, I still wouldn't come here seeking advice. As I said earlier, I like to try and handle my problems on my own or I go to Headmistress Krause. Good day... Miss DiTe. Seriously, the next time you go undercover, choose a better alias."
With that, she left the office, put her head in her hands, and sighed loudly and tiredly. Thank the gods for meditation!
~Later that night at around 7~
Ever was FINALLY done with the day. It was only 7 but she already felt like a washrag that had been used to clean the shower, then the floor, then put in the washer on the highest spin cycle, and then wrung out to dry.
When she got in her room, she closed the door behind her, dropped her back to the ground, and fell face-first onto her bed. She had just finished washing the headmistress's large dog Etzel and still felt like the scum of the earth whenever she looked at the headmistress. It had nothing to do with how the headmistress behaved around her. Ever deserved everything she got. It was just that she still felt so horrible for what she had done.
And that meeting with Aphrodite this morning... it was all just too much to deal with today. Ever hadn't even gone down to the cafeteria to eat supper that night. She had been too busy.
She screamed into her bed in frustration. Luckily, her scream was completely muffled.

(Eep! I didn't mean her actual 'birth' was the incident... I meant the fact that she said Aphrodite ignored her when they were introduced! Sorry if it wasn't clear XD)

Though Evermore had apparently not noticed him, Ares was staring out her window when she'd come in. He'd expected her to start yelling at him or something (her aura was very frustrated, to say the least), so when she didn't, he frowned and turned to look at her. He watched her flop facedown onto her bed and proceed to scream into it. Frowning even more deeply, he walked over and sat on the edge of her bed, looking deliberately across the room and not at her and leaning back.
"Bad day?" he asked, examining her wall as if it was truly interesting. Silently, he hoped she wouldn't attack him or something. It wouldn't be the first time, but, well, he just didn't think it would help right now. Maybe it would relieve her frustration, though.

And it was just fun to write it with her thinking that Aphrodite meant her birth! It was hilarious and I was so glad you wrote it that way! XD}}

Ever actually wasn't startled at all by Ares' presence in her room. She had almost expected him to be there. Well, she had earlier that day. After her meeting with Aphrodite, she had just put all thoughts of gods out of her head completely. But still, his presence in her room had not startled her.
Ever didn't even move her head from the bed other than to nod into it. Her words were muffled but mostly understandable.
"Yyyyep. Don't mind me. I'm just over here dying right now. I'll even open a window for you so that the smell of my decomposing flesh doesn't bother you."
Since it was night out, Ever simply had to wave her hand in the direction of the window, and the shadows from the moon came up and opened her window for her. A cool, sweet-smelling breeze wafted into her room.

Ares sighed and fell backwards onto the bed. He really didn't understand why he always got so out-of-character with Evermore around--scratch that, he did know, but he was choosing to ignore the reason. He didn't want that reason. Not right now. "Sorry. Can't let you die just yet. You've still got a lot of s**t to do and work through. But you can die when you're done with all that. I'll just call Hades up. He'll be delighted." Light sarcasm laced his voice, hoping to bring Evermore's spirits up a little bit.
He looked out the window, and he could see the soft glow coming from the lake even though it was still early in the night. The night-creatures were coming out already, entranced by whatever the hell was in that stupid lake.

Ever scoffed against the bed and then finally lifted her head to look over at Ares. There was an incredulous look on her face.
"Oh... I see. I'm everyone's lap dog, just like mortals are. Doesn't matter that I'm a goddess myself. Nope, I just have to follow orders like everyone else and then when my use is gone, I can die! Well you know what? Screw you!"
Ever banged her hands on her bed and then launched herself back up onto the floor. Her eyes weren't flashing and her hair was back to being its normal black color. Her body was too tired to work up any physical signs of her fury.
"I may have been made to guard some stupid little thing here at this school, but I am NO ONE'S servant! If I don't want to do something, then I won't do it, and there's not a damn thing you can do to make me! I don't care if you and the others want to learn what's at the bottom of the silly little lake. Yeah, that's right! I now know that whatever it is you guys want is at the bottom of the lake!"
She was pacing now and her arms were gesturing wildly from time to time.
"But I don't care what you guys want! I'm not here for you to get information out of! I'm not some computer! So you know what? You can just get the hell out and leave me alone!"
She turned back to face Ares with furious eyes as she said her last sentence and then pointed her finger at the door to her room.

When Evermore had begun to rant, Ares sat up and watched her. Well crap. He hadn't intended for her to just blow up on him! And on top of that, she seemed exhausted. Though she had made some progress on her 'job', it seemed she didn't care anymore. Holding up his hands, he sighed. "Like hell I'm gonna just walk out right now. I know you're not my damn servant. Jeez, what's wrong today? Did Aphrodite say something? Shoulda known she would... Besides..." He stood up, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow at her. "If I just wanted to get information out of you, why would I come every day? I think I'd have better things to do than quiz you, thank you very much."

Ever threw her head back and groaned loudly. "Ugh! Does every little thing have to revolve around that walking goddess?? Literally, she is the physical embodiment of that phrase! No, not everything in my life revolves around her or is affected by what she has to say! Although, since she apparently doesn't have anything better to do than hang out with teenagers, than I would suspect that you also have nothing better to do than grill me for information day in and day out!"

Ares translated this spiel as 'Yes, Aphrodite did say something, and I didn't like it.' He huffed at her. "I never said any of that, Evermore. I warned you she was here, that's all. I didn't know what she would say." He still probably needed to tell Evermore to be cautious, even though Aphrodite was supposedly going to help him now. "I have no idea why she came here, of all places. I would have expected someplace... Why are we talking about her?" He didn't really want to be. Not unless she was demanding that he just tell her his history with Aphrodite so that he could get that out of the way--but hell if he was going to be the one to bring it up.

Ok, apparently her body wasn't too tired to make her eyes and hair flash red after all. Or perhaps she was just so angry that her body couldn't contain it any longer.
Ever simply turned on her heel, strode quickly over to her window, leaned her head out, and then let out an ear-piercing scream that only a Fury could accomplish with 3 different octaves activating at once.
When she was done, she swung her head back into the room and stormed over to Ares. "I WASN'T the one asking to talk about her! In fact, I keep trying to move the conversation away from her, but YOU keep bringing her up! You know, since you're that fascinated with her, why don't you go find her and screw her brains out?! I'm sure she'd also love to hear you go on and on about her like you are right now!"

Ares growled and swept so he was directly in front of her, just that close, staring down at her face. "Don't you dare say that again, Evermore. I am long finished with Aphrodite. I would have been happy to have never dealt with her again. But of course, she shows up here at probably the most inconvenient time." He tore away, heading to the window himself, where he stood with his arms crossed and back to Evermore, completely stiff. "I'd rather..." I'd rather be screwing you is what he thought mentally, but he didn't really think she'd appreciate the sentiment. "...do anything but that."

Ever's head tilted to the side in confusion as she caught on specific thing that Ares had said. She was surprised she could think at all or focus on anything other than how powerful and pissed off Ares looked at the moment. She really hated to admit it, but he looked really sexy when he got that way, all pissed off and commanding.
But yes, something else had actually caught her attention more this time. She turned around and looked at Ares back in interest.
"Uh, what do you mean, 'you're long finished with her'? What, like you had a business arrangement with her or something? I can't see Aphrodite doing any type of business other than sexual and..."
Ever gasped and her eyes widened. She pointed at Ares' back and got a repulsed look on her face. "Oh... my... GODS! You SLEPT with her! You slept with Aphrodite! I can't believe I never even considered that before! You screw anyone, so why not the actual Goddess of Love/Lust herself?!"

Ares sighed and hung his head. "...Yes. I slept with her. It was a long time ago. I was stupid. I..." He didn't want to tell her everything. She'd think he was some sappy chickflick or something equally horrible. He took a deep breath. "I made a mistake that I will never make again."
It wasn't that sleeping with Aphrodite had necessarily been the mistake, or that she was a Goddess; it had been his own actions. He had not taken into account what she was looking for, not taken into account that she was not a mortal who would get over it and move on. Why would the Goddess of Love want what she knew brought such pain and devastation? Why would she want what she used to bring pain and devastation?

Ever raised an eyebrow in surprise. She hadn't expected to hear Ares say that.
"You... YOU, Ares, God of War, are actually admitting that you made a mistake? Uh, wow... I wouldn't think anyone would ever say that sleeping with Aphrodite was a mistake, least of all you..."
Ever lightly scratched the back of her head. She was slightly uncomfortable here. Ares was acting regretful. She had never seen him act like that, and she was not sure that she liked it. She may fight with him all the time and act like she despised him, but one thing that she had always actually liked about him was that he was always confidence and stood up for what he believed in, even if his beliefs were completely insane.
