AS if an answer to Sam's question, the car sputtered to life, as Daryl pinched the two lines together. "Yeap. Guide me, Sam, and we'll be home free."
---
A few moments after Kat hung up the phone on Rook, a large, white conversion van pulled up to the side entrance to the shopping center, Rook and the assembled crew all sitting in it.
He called Kat up, greeting her with a simple "Ride's here."

Jeffery was riding shotgun, anxiously tapping his fingers along the arm rest, waiting for them to get to the van.

sean701 Omar followed Kat to the front entrance of the mall . He looked around and saw a few stores he liked and a few cute boys he liked as well but he kept that to himself. "Hm ok...where are we going anyway?" Omar unzipped his Cuban flag track jacket, he was getting a little hot and he was already dry. Omar was unaware that he was raising the temperature. It wasn't harmful in any way and it wasn't to hot for anybody else to notice. Amorous thoughts are what triggered this. "We're going back to home base. Right now it's a condo owned by a fairly rich man who raises the dead. Long story." Kat tilted her head in curiosity as she noted his gaze on the different people in the mall. She was about to mention it when she got Rook's call. She smiled as she answered. "It's about bloody time. Did you stop for a meal or something? See you in a few." She hung up the phone and made her way to the van. She was about to say something to Jeffery about swiping the passenger seat, but took a look at his tapping fingers and let it pass. "Say hello to the crew, Omar, at least some of them. As for you guys, this is Omar, the weather-boy."

He barely waited for them to close the door before he started to drive again. "Alright, so what's the deal with this whole situation. THe weather wizard back there was trying to do what? Draw attention? Defend himself? Lost control? What about Sam and this other kid you mentioned? Why in the hell are the Keepers out in such force? What did you guys do?"

Kat caught herself on the seat as the van jerked forward, giving Rook a slight scowl as she sat down and buckled. "He lost control, a power like that losing control has disastrous results. He was lucky though, since we were in the area to grab him and run. I last saw Sam and Daryl on a bus, I'm assuming they made a run for it too. As for the keepers...there may have been an explosion incident, and the little car crash and lightning storm might have stirred the nest a little more. Trust me, it wasn't our intention to bring out the badguys."

Rook nodded, opting to stay to main roads, blending the van in with the surrounding vehicles, in an attempt to shake off pursuit. "So, if it could go wrong, it did." He scowled at an old lady that had pulled in front of him then hit her breaks, "Now we have a weather wizard that we need to reign it, too. A power like that unnchecked is dangerous for all of us."

"Just gets better and better." Jeffery said, keeping an eye out the back for any tails.
After a few minutes, Jarred's car pulled up alongside them. He glanced up, nodding at Rook, then speeding ahead, but staying near enough, just in case.

"And Marcus's power is any safer? What if he has a nightmare and starts raising up a cemetery?" Kat brushed a hand up through her hair, letting out a soft sigh. She felt the tension in the van and felt an answering tension building in the center of her forehead. "We can help him out with control, teach him some meditation or such. There are always options."

"Never said I wanted to ditch him, or that Marcus' was better. We have to help him control it, or the Keeper's 'll kill him stone dead. That's what we all banded together to stop them from doing." He nodded to Jarred as he pulled up, and waited a moment after the light changed to give him some clearance, "So, tell me, Omar. When does your power act up without you? Any kind of events or things that just make it pop all on it's ownsome?"

Omar was not paying much attention as they talked about him.He was just staring out the car window thinking about his mother, father and brothers and sisters, who he missed dearly. A few seconds had passed since Rook had asked him a question and he immediately popped out of wonderland. "..Rage, sorrow, excitement, it goes on. I usually have control over my powers but for some reason ever since I moved here my powers have been going crazy. I come to believe that its because I'm in a new environment. So basically I have to start all over and come up with new control techniques.."

"We should get home then, see if we can contact Sam and Daryl, and see if we can get Omar started up with some control training." Kat let out a small sigh as she leaned back in the chair. She felt her mind drifting to look out the window as well. She smiled at the sight of the black porche, moving gracefully through traffic, pulling her mind away from the troubles for a brief moment.

Rook nodded as Omar talked. "Well, we're here to help make that process of re-learning easier on you, alright? Like Kat said, we'll get started as soon as we get back to base."

"Shouldn't take us too long to get there."
Kat said as a quiet addition. "So any updates on your end, Rook?" She asked, looking up to the front. "Did your group manage to even get out? And I'm assuming Jeffery brought back the directory information."

"We haven't gone after anyone yet. Admittedly, feet got dragged, but we got the list, and directory, and the good guys. We're makin progress, anyways." Jeffery sat back in his chair, staring out at the rain, going over his motives here, and if they were enough to stay.

"Progress is good," Kat said, grateful that the van took little time in pulling into the condo parking lot.
Kat unbuckled and moved to the van door. "If Sam and Daryl don't make contact soon, I'll head out to find them, but for now, I think I'm keeping base."
