"I still visit the Southland, even though there really isn't any elvish lessons anymore, but I'm trying to instead take lessons in Human Tongue and learn a bit more about social interaction here. I mean, in the Borderlands I haven't had any problems, but I've had problems because I've been a bit spoiled being around Earendil all the time. I really don't understand titles and all that, I only have to use them during formal occasions back home... or if I'm in lessons with Grandmotehr Mi."
Lin made a face, but she kind of got herself into that one.
"Elnara and Lore visited not that long ago, well now it is... and so I had a long visit. Training is going well.... well that depends on who you talk to. I got caught in the Lau training grounds by the clan head, he thought I was interesting so I've had him for a trainer for the past few months. I'm starting to think Dad's personality runs in his family, Vincent is like Dad... only without Mom to restrain him."

Celebor laughed. "Well, at least you haven't been bored," he chuckled softly. "It sounds as if you're enjoying yourself ... at least for the most part. I bet it's a bit strange, training with Vincent, if he's so much like Donovan."
He could imagine what it might have been like.

"Not as weird as having them in the same room," Lin murmured, "I thought Grandfather Long and Dad were bad because they're nothing alike, but having Vincent and Dad in the same room is worse because they're too much alike."
A battleground of wits their meetings became and it didn't help that Vincent had a lot of blackmail material seeing as the two grew up with each other.
"I also attended school for a while, just to get to know kids... somewhat my own age. Not Fuliteach, Vincent said it should be a normal school, apparently a school for fighting and magic is not normal. He's right, but you know... I prefer not normal."

"Sounds chaotic," Celebor commented. "And how did that go?"
Not very well, from the sounds of it. But she wasn't giving many details, and he was curious to know what she was up to all the time.

"Well... I met this guy named Kin, and it was his school I was attending. You might or might not have heard of Feng talking about a Fluffy, that would be Kin's father, his name is not really Fluffy it's just unpronouncable to most people."
She paused to gather her thoughts together for a bit.
"I met the student president Raven, she's nice, calm and has way too much responiblity. Sure, she's student president but a good amount of the student body are... left to be desired. I find out Kin is probably the most wanted man in the school, I guess it makes sense, he's tall, exotic... half dog demon, certainly atheltic and is a gentleman, something that seems to be lacking in the male population of the school. Then again he's from an old clan."
She rolled her eyes at that thought, it was such a contradiction with the girls there and the fact he was a gentleman. It reminded her of one particular vulgar conversation she had with Raven.
"I'm his friend, I don't giggle at him like a dolt, and I sure as hell don't batter my eye lashes at him. Apparently that was beyond some to understand, I had gotten into three fights, and been threatened a few times. I finally gave up and joined the cheerleading squad to piss them off. I don't normally like having people scared of me, but since my friend YanYu has started dating Kin, I think I can make an exception to that."

Celebor loved hearing Lin talk about her experiences. He knew he had missed out on a lot of fun with her - not that he would ever go back in time and change things, he loved his family - but it did make him feel a little nostalgic about the times when they had played together as children.
All in all, it didn't seem long before they reached the valley, and soon enough they were heading to Ulrich and Ulani's house.
"I think I'll let you go in yourself," Alyse muttered, tugging on Timaeus's arm. "Come on, Timaeus."
Timaeus nodded. "We'll see you later," he smiled at Lin. "Watch out for that kid."

"I will..." Lin breathed a gusty sigh, "I'll see you both later."
She wondered how Ryu and the others were doing, and what Ulani was doing to keep Ruran in line. Opening the door, she let Celebor and Ulrich walk in first.

Ulrich led the way into the house, calling out as he headed in, "Ulani?"
"Kitchen," her voice floated out to them.
With a frown, Celebor pushed forward and into the kitchen. He glanced at Ruran just long enough to see that he was safely secured by Ulani's fire, then looked at Ryu and asked him seriously, "Are you all right?"

"I'm fine, he has a small mouth," Ryu replied.
Well, physically he had a small mouth anyways.
"Celebor!" Naida squealed from where she was on the table, her blue clashing with Aras yellow.
She bounced on her butt a few times for good measure.

Celebor barely glanced at Naida, flashing her a brief half-smile when he saw how big she had grown. "Congratulations," he said softly; and then he turned his attention back to his son.
"Ulani," he said softly, and with a nod, Ulani dissipated the flames, releasing Ruran from his prison. Before the boy had a chance to gloat or run away, however, Celebor grabbed him by the collar and yanked him to his feet. "Come with me," he said tersely.
And then the two of them were gone.
In the sudden quiet, Ulani coughed softly. "Well. I think I might actually pity Ruran for once."

Lin nodded silently, this was a bit awkward.
Fortunately Naida didn't find this awkard at all, instead she turned to Ulrich, or wiggled her butt so she could face Ulrich and held out her arms.
"Ulrich you're back!"
"Were you ever like that?" Lin asked of her big sister, having missed out on her younger years.
"Yea, only I had baby fat at her age."

Ulrich chuckled at Naida, and reached out to ruffle her hair. "And you're bigger than you were when I left," he winked at her. "Think you'll be as big as your mother someday?"
Who knew? Maybe she would even settle down like Feng did.

"I hope so!" Naida exclaimed, "Then I can swim really really far!"
Feng sighed and giggled at Naida's response, "And now you can learn magic, or at least I would trust you to learn magic."
"Besides she needs to learn to walk now, it's not as a long ways down and she should be able to hold it at least for a few minutes," Ryu added.
They both knew their strength was proporational to their size, which was why they waited until Naida was a child to begin that spell.

"I'm sure you can already," Ulrich laughed. "Though your mother probably likes it that you don't go too far."
He smiled at Feng and Ryu. "So you two will be teaching her the same spell that you two use to tranform into humans?" he asked them curiously.

"That would be the easiest," Ryu replied, "True we could teach her the more extensive transformation spell that we use for our other forms, which would do just as well, but we don't need her to find other ways of wandering off."
In otherwords he didn't want her to be flying off or anything of the sort, so just to gain legs would be the best.
"Besides, it takes less focus than the other spell, because in a way... we're not really human. We can still breath underwater in that form, it's just the moment we turn our tails into legs we just look human," Feng added.
