Good morning. It's gonna be in the 70s here this week. So they say. Summer is around the corner. Giesta do you have access to a frige-freezer at work so you can store cold water or iced tea (so you don't have to get cold soda in the vending machine).

3nodding The good thing is the High Supervisors got every area a Water-Fountain so we didnt have to go all the way to a breakroom to get water.
We do have fredgerators in our break room though our breakroom is about a 5 minute walk away from my work area and also when its very hot they get us all Gatoraid and wet rags for our necks. 3nodding
Yes, the weather is improving recently and is bareable for the time being. ^8^

That's thoughtful of your employer to give y'all gatorade and wet rags for your neck. You're awesome to be able to be productive in 100 degree conditions, even with those helps.

Thx, Harvey. Everyone tries to do thier best even when its very hot, but the managemnet often kinda gives us a little wiggle room when its hot because they know if they push people to hard in hot weather it can kill us literally. 3nodding

It has killed about 3 people that I can remember since I started working in the warehouse close to 4 years ago.

Damn... people died at your work?!!! Scary. I guess you have to trust your own feelings and do what you have to do to survive no matter what your employer says or does. No job is worth dying for. Well, police and fire fighters and soldiers. But probably not warehouse.

Mostly since Ive worked there, there have been those Heat-Related deaths and also people have a tendency to over-do-it and have had Heart Attacks to which if I remember right has killed another 2 or 3 people.

You would think they would have more controls in place, since they've had on-the-job deaths.

I agree with jellowind, you'd think there'd be better controls in place. And I'd think OSHA would demand better conditions.

So far they have demanded better work habits from the warehouse where I work and there havent been any Deaths since about 2 years ago now.
OSHA, clamped down hard after the Heat-Related Deaths happened since they were easily preventable by drinking water and better readyness for weather conditions.

It's good to know OSHA did something helpful. It's a wonder the product doesn't get damaged by such high temperatures
