Kasiya blinked curiously at the sight of Flannery's Torkoal shooting out several blobs of sludge at Digger, not really understanding why the move had been used. The Sandslash stood his ground, half-curling himself into a ball and letting the Sludge Bomb splatter over his spiny back. Digger then stood tall and shook himself off, grinning a bit as he barely felt the attack - Ground-types resisted Poison-type attacks and Kasiya couldn't help but wonder if Flannery had some sort of plan when she'd ordered the attack. She then smiled at the Ground-type, glad he'd decided to come with her that day, but then again, who in their right mind would stay with Team Rocket?
"Let's make this fun, Digger," Kasiya said, nodding at her Pokemon. "Defense Curl, and then prepare to use Rollout." Digger gave a quick nod before he tucked his body into a perfectly round, albeit spiky ball, a small glow of green surrounding him before he pushed forward, opting to go in a wide arch around Torkoal in order to gain the momentum needed for a successful Rollout attack.
Flannery became a bit rigid as her Torkoal's Sludge Bomb did practically nothing against Kasiya's Sandslash, and with a horrifying moment she realized she'd made a mistake. When she'd ordered the attack, she'd honestly thought Ground-types were weak to poison, and she felt herself blanch a little even as the Sandslash began to roll around in a large circle, slowly gaining speed with every passing moment. A trickle of sweat crept down the gym leader's face as her mind seemingly blanked out - she had no idea what to do now. Rollout would be quite damaging and only gain more power as Digger continued, but what could she do to stop it?"
"Torkoal... use, uh, ah.... use...." her voice trailed off as words failed her, and she stared helplessly at her Pokemon. Torkoal shifted nervously on its feet, watching the Sandslash get nearer and nearer, the whole time hoping Flannery would let her in on whatever she was planning. But when no order came, Torkoal took matters into her own shell. Seconds before Digger slammed into her she ducked into her shell, glowing with the same defensive aura Digger had a moment before, gaining a significant boost in both attack and defense (while suffering a speed reduction). A little colour returned to Flannery's cheeks at the sight of her Pokemon's quick thinking and she regained her bearings a bit - it was one mistake; everybody made them but it hadn't been game breaking. She took a deep breath and focused, her mind actually starting to think of a way to stop Digger's momentum.

This was odd. Mitsu had been expecting an almost complete barrage of offensive attacks despite Ebony's evasive tactics. I thought he said he liked power. How strange. It was almost as if they were playing completely different roles, Mitsu on the offensive and Crenu on the defensive. Normally in a battle it was the other way around. "I have to admit that was a pretty clever way of reducing the damage that could have beem done. Extremely clever," Mitsu said genuinely impressed with his Poliwag's quick recovery.
She was now tempted to revert back to her more observant and tactical self and she almost issued out a Confuse Ray but quickly decided against it. "Shadow Ball Ebony!" Mitsu called out. The Gengar rose from the ground now a few feet away from the Poliwag to meet the raindrops that fell harshly onto his head. They, of course, provided no pain, but were quite annoying as they washed out his Sludge Bomb and turned the grass nearby the pavement slightly muddy. He grinned as he dashed forward the attack built up in his two hand before he quickly feinted this time to the right and unleashed the attack keeping a decent amount of distance bewteen the two.

"Maybe, but that's child's play compared to what I've got planned. Watergun Poliwag!" The raindrops that fell trickled over Poliwag's body, making it more slimy than before. The water began to dampen the ground as it picked up and as Poliwag prepared the water gun he could feel the water around his feet increase. The rain started picking up and Poliwag shot forth a powered up watergun at the Shadow Ball. Crenu didn't really think it was strong enough to stop it, but at least slow it down and force the Gengar to do something else and exert a little more effort. It was clear however that Poliwag stood on the losing side of a power struggle between the attacks as his jet of water grew smaller and smaller.

Mitsu ground her teeth together as the Shadow Ball didn't pick up as much damage as she wanted. "Fine then," she muttered. Her mind spinning for another attack, something that he couldn't quite avoid. A picture of Karri's grinning face flashed through her mind. "Ah, of course," Mitsu smiled, "Psychic!" Ebony's eyes grew even more red and his body illuminated with a matching glow. The same aura began to form arond the Poliwag as well. Mitsu hoped that Ebony would have enough power within him to keep the hold. Smash it into the ground Mitsu thought.

Elekid puffed out his chest to look impressive for the young lady. The plug was always willing to make a friend of his trainer's like him. "EleEle!" he laughed, pounding his chest with a single small fist. Kilik smiled and then took Ludicolo's Pokeball off of his belt. "Sorry, Ludi. Looks like you're going home with the family." He held a finger up to M.A. for just a moment, dashed over the PC and input his Trainer ID and password. The machine beside the computer was designed to take Pokeballs and send them to the database wherever the trainer had decided said database would be set at. In Kilik's case: his house. With a press of a single Enter key, Ludicolo was being sent home to the Ranmo household to spend time with the mysterious Poppite and the attention grabbing Sudowoodo.
"Anyway," Kilik said returning to M.A's side, "You're looking good. I take it that those two boys you left Azelea with made sure you were alright?" He stuck his hands into his pockets and shifted awkwardly. Mike, if I could have some of your charm, now would be a good time to hand it over. he thought, biting his lip a bit. Flareon scrambled up to Kilik's shoulder, where he had always felt at home, and shook his head, the bows coming off immediately. Not to be outshone, Elekid dashed up to his other shoulder and smiled.

M.A. smiled warmly at Elekid; he'd grown bigger since the last time she'd seen Kilik, she thought. Or maybe it was a part of her imagination.
When Kilik ran off to send his Pokemon through the computer thing (technology she'd never understand), she glanced around to see that Mitsu and Crenu were really gone after all. Wonder what Crenu had to find? He didn't strike her as the type to ask for someone else's help, but who knows, she didn't know anything about the situation. Shrug.
"Anyways," she echoed, still smiling. Smiling was a natural part of M.A., it seemed. When he complimented her, she couldn't help but be a bit flattered, although he certainly didn't mean anything by it. "Ky and Crenu?" she laughed a little. "Of course, although nothing really happened for them to need to make sure. And I can take care of myself most of the time, y'know?" she finished, thinking that Kilik had sounded a little like Sae there.

The boy nodded. "You looking completely capable of defending yourself," he smiled, "Besides. You've got that awesome..." Kilik began to draw a blank. He pressed his forehead for the thought to come to him before he finally got it. "He's got to be a Houndoom by now, right?" Speaking of course of Daemyn. At that point, he sort of regretted not hanging around her a bit longer to get to know her. Even though his parents knew her parents, why wasn't she one of his childhood friends? She looked his age, though you'd never know by comparing them. Kilik did appear to be a few years older than he was.
Elekid looked at M.A. and blinked. Why was Master lying? She didn't look like she could fight off anything. Heck, even he could take her easily. That was of course, until he mentioned the Houndoom. A chill went up his spine. Flareon smirked and glanced at his trainer's growing star. The plug was easily frightened, it appeared. That sounds good to him. This entire beach party that the family was talking about should be fun.

"Hmm, no, he hasn't, uh, changed," she answered, fingering the Pokeball at her side. She didn't really know how evolution worked; she had seen it a few times, but it was hazy in her mind now. "He's huge now, though; I can't really carry him around anymore." At this, she looked longfully at Elekid and Flareon, who could perch on Kilik's shoulders. Daemyn was too heavy. She sorta missed having a baby Daemyn at her side... But it made her extremely happy to know that he was growing and super healthy.
She then vocalized her thoughts. "Funny, though, huh? That our dads knew each other... You'd think it'd follow that we knew each other prior to now and chance, y'know? But I guess we kinda lived far apart." Although she had no idea where Kilik lived, she did know that the farthest she'd ever been was Lilycove. And only once. After that one time, her family (save for Michael) hadn't set foot on another boat.

"Ah," Kilik sort of looked to the side, somewhat regretting bringing up the idea that Daemyn had evolved, "Well, I'm certain he's close. You'll probably have a big, healthy Houndoom ready to tear down the competition." He felt his left shoulder drag a bit at the mention of Daemyn being to heavy to carry. Flareon was starting to put on a little weight, though that could have been from the lack of battles lately. Soon, the fox would shave a few pounds and be back to fighting shape.
"Yeah. Though my dad's talked about Mr. Rustings a lot. He'd come home to Verdanturf all the time with stories." The boy puffed out his stomach and lowered his voice to imitate his father: "Well, mah boy! Rustings and I blah blah blah. Dig this up and dug that up. We make quite a team blah blah blah I like fossils." He sighed and laughed slightly. "Your dad like that? Certainly not all fossil experts are so eccentric." A strand of hair drooped in his face a bit, which he blew up to mingle with the rest of his jet black locks.

"Maybe," M.A. said thoughtfully, imagining Daemyn with horns on his head like the Houndooms they'd seen that one time. Spewing fire all over the place.
She laughed at Kilik's imitation. "My dad's more of the snore type, going into all the scientific details. But my mom can shush him up, then he's the quiet, good-guy kind of guy. Intense when it comes to sports, though," she said, aware she was rambling a bit. She loved her family, really.
M.A. tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, glancing around again. "Wanna go outside?" she suggested. She wasn't really sure as to what they were going to do, but there certainly wasn't much to do here in the Pokecenter.
The brunette found herself outside the PokeCenter for less than a second before a strong rustle of wind passed behind her. It wasn't the sliding doors, either. M.A. frowned, grasping her backpack and swinging it around one shoulder. Opening the pocket, she saw that her wallet was gone. "Someone stole my stuff!" she said, surprised. Sure enough, when she looked up, a figure some twenty meters away noticed and started belting with amazing speed, gaining distance with every second.
M.A. took chase, her track-runner's legs flying. But the distance seemed too far! And the figure had darted into some alley.

Kilik's fists immediately tensed up. "I can't run with you two on me," he looked over at the two Pokemon on his shoulders, both of whom immediately jumped to the ground. The boy broke into a sprint, after recalling Elekid quickly. As he ran, Flareon followed right on his heels. It was just like old times. "I can't stand people," he growled, skidding to a halt at the alley the figure had ran down. He took a deep breath and dashed after him.
"Flareon, use Quick Attack!" Kilik barked as he ran. It felt like an eternity since he had heard a command from Master. With a nod, the fox broke into a faster run, a stream of white light following behind. "Loop around and come back to me!" he called out. Flareon spun around mere inches in front of the culprit and went back to Kilik. When he had met with the trainer, the two began running towards the stumbling and bewildered thief. The boy caught up and nabbed the back of his hoodie. "You!" he snapped, tossing him against the wall and grabbing him by the collar. "What's the deal? Stealing from girls!" Flareon jumped up and bit the man's hand, nabbing up the wallet that fell. Instinct made him leave the scene and head to M.A. to return the stolen property.
"Get out of here," Kilik said, shoving him to the ground, "Do it again and I'll have something a little scarier bite your hands." He glared at the boy on the ground. He was, of course, implying his Lairon.

"Ouch!" the thief said, sprawled out on the ground amidst trash bags. To M.A. (who had caught up and was half-way into the alley) and Kilik's surprise, the voice was... female. A bit gruff, partially from the pain, but definitely female. "Just my luck, I run into a trainer who already has his Pokemon out," the girl continued, sighing as she dusted herself up and heaved herself up with the help of the wall behind her, clenching the hand Flareon had bitten. As she rose, her hood fell back, revealing a pretty red-headed girl with brilliant green eyes. On closer investigation, beneath the loose hoodie there was definitely a bust. A busty bust.
"Gee, Kanda, remember your rules for hit and runs. 1) No beggars, 2) no old people, 3) not when there's too many people, 3) no one with a potential Pokemon out unless Muriel's out," the girl muttered to herself, oblivious of her audience. "Oh!" she said, looking up. "You're still here. Well, sorry I guess. Totally not my style, this hit and run thing, but I was kinda tight on cash. Gotta rake in food, y'know," she said, shrugging nonchalantly.
She tugged off her dirty hoodie, sticking it in her bag. Beneath, she was wearing a flirtatious white halter top over tight jeans. She was a thief, yes, but generally she got a leeeetle closer to her targets before leaving them, using her clever charm when needed. 'Nough about her at the moment, though.
The girl looked undecided. "God, I don't have time," she said, frowning. "Okay, you know what? Let's battle. If I win, can I have enough for lunch for me and my Pokemon and a train ticket? Two on two. Please?"

Kilik quickly looked away to avoid the idea of him having 'prying eyes'. "Fine, that's good enough for me. I'll be using Flareon," He looked down at the fox and smiled. Finally, after such a long time, he would be fighting along with his most trusted partner. This battle would give him the chance to work alongside and command a Fire-type (something that was rare for him), and to get reunited with his friend. "Didn't think my first battle involving you would be as a partner, M.A." He smirked a toothy smirk and glanced over at Kanda. He clenched his fists. A few thoughts about her predicament swirled in his head. No, he wouldn't let anything cloud his head in a battle, even one as simple as this.
Flareon was ready to go, grinding his paws into the cement. The cold ground felt nice against the pads of his feet and his fur stood on end. A battle! He couldn't wait to see exactly what he was up against. As long as it wasn't a Steelix, he was pretty sure he'd be fine.

"Oh, right," she said, realizing that Kilik meant they'd be fighting side by side in a two-on-two battle. Vaguely, she thought something along the lines of, what a funny but nice way of smiling (for the perpetually smiling girl could detect different smiles, of course. She had always been the observant kind). Anyways, M.A. had nearly zoned out, as she was prone to do. Never met a thief before. She always sorta imagined them as mean people wearing all black, kind of like ninjas. But this girl looked like your everyday girl (well, a bit more seductive maybe, but still), and she seemed almost kind of distressed about something. But well, here she asked for a battle. . .
One of her ball twitched at her side. Tora's, of course, M.A. grinned, giving a near-silent half-laugh, half-sigh. The little elephant must have heard the word 'battle' somewhere and had gotten excited. Well, why deny her? "Let's go, Tora! Shake it up," she said, a smile widening as she saw the Long Nose Pokemon appear and stomp in excitement.
She looked over at Flareon, a bit confused, but when she saw the Flareon's trainer and M.A. standing on the same side, facing another person, she put one and one together. The Phanpy had the over-simplified way of thinking that whoever was put in front of her was the opponent. It worked most of the time though, didn't it? With a nod, she eagerly acknowledged her parter.
"Today really hasn't been my day!" Kanda breathed angrily, frowning at Flareon. The only two Pokemon she had her at the time were gonna be disadvantaged... Ah, well. They were strong, or at least one was. "Let's go, Oro! Sheik!" A buff-looking Heracross and Sneasel appeared. They looked as on edge as their trainer did.
"I'll start it off, then; Sheik, Icy Wind! Oro, Arial on that Flareon!" The Sneasel raised its claws, breathing deeply before blowing out a really, really cold, snow-flecked twist of wind. Meanwhile, the Heracross took flight, disappearing in the air before dropping down with dead-pin accuracy and accelerating every second.
The wind blasted by Tora, and she could feel her muscles tensing as the atmosphere suddenly became many degrees colder. Ugh, she thought, shivering with compulsions. She didn't like cold at all! It stung and didn't feel comfy at all...

Telling her father about everything she had done so far as they all munched on a pasta salad her mother had brought out. Happily eating the pasta they talked about things that were going on, Robin mentioned her idea to see if she could find a pokemon to keep her parents company. Both of her parents seemed to like the idea but they told her not to worry about it. Over all it was a pleasant stay, Luffy, Raz and Brook also ate their fair share. It was late afternoon when Robin left her home to head to the train station. Buying a ticket to the Slateport. The train would be arriving in a little bit so Robin took a seat at one of the offered benches her pokemon following her. Stretching slightly she watched as Raz settled down a bit sleepy from the activities of the day. Taking out his park ball Robin recalled him back, setting it onto her belt Robin looked at Brook for a moment noticing that he seemed a bit tired as well and decided to recall him. Luffy seeing that his fellow nakama were resting inside their pokeballs he went over to Robin's lap and settled down on it. Together they waited in companionable silence until the train pulled forward.
Getting up and scooping Luffy up into her arms she boarded the train flashing her ticket to the conductor. This train was much more crowded then her train to Goldenrod. It seemed like this Beach Party was going to be much more popular then she had initially thought. She just hoped that she and Luffy didn't make complete fools of themselves, they probably would... Sighing she kept an eye on the Aipom who was passed out in her lap. Well at least he wouldn't do something embarrassing here, looking to her left Robin couldn't help but blush slightly. There was a really cute boy sitting next to her. Looking away she started second guessing going to this party, after all everyone would be looking at her in a bathing suit...
