Jin gave full attention to Leah as she introduced Amir and talked about the obstacle course. This brought a smile to Jins face as he wondered what was in store for them. It was what he likes most about this school. First hand experience to practice and learn. Rather then read from a book.
As she finished her last sentence, Jin stood and flung his backpack on his back and slowly exited the classroom following Aura. He followed everyone outside to the field by the gym. To his sight, 16 logs were placed up right and in a somewhat zig zag line with fairly large gaps in between. Jin stood behind Leah and Amir as she explained what they were to do.
This, in the long run proves to be challenging. One would think that they could use the air pressure to push them to the next log after just barely touching one. But, if too much pressure is used and not controlled correctly, the force could cause the next log you are jumping to to fall, leaving you with just empty air and space. Though too little, you wouldn't have pushed yourself far enough and you fall in between the gaps. Or send yourself to the side if not controlled, backwards. It's tough.
Though, Jin raised his hand and took a step forward as Leah asked on which one would like to go first. He was determined and ready, hopefully. He had really good control for an intermediate, having trained all summer long and then some. He felt confident.

"Very good, Dr. Montoya," the Headmaster replied. "Farewell for now," he said with a smile as she left, reciprocating her wave. Once she departed inside the room, he turned around with a quick twist on one foot, earning many sudden glances from students around, and started heading downstairs. Since it was his nature to greet almost every one that he met, the bell had rung before he got to his office. Instead of going into his own room, however, he chose to alter his path just enough to be faced with the Dean's door instead.

He opened it, took a deep breath of the sweet air that the multitude of plants produced, and took a step forward before greeting the Dean, "Ah Nicholas, it has been a while. I thought I would stop by."

:::

Just as the Headmaster entered, Nicholas sat up from his nap right away as if he knew exactly who had just walked through his door. "Hey, Elle! I was wondering when you were going to stop by!"

:::

The Headmaster smiled at the old nickname, knowing its many meanings. "Indeed, Nicholas. So, how have you been?"

Nicolas, now fully awake from his fifth nap, grinned. At Headmaster's question, Nicolas’s grin slowly faded as he shrugged his shoulders before leaning back into his comfy chair. “Everything is alright now, so I’m fine….but I think it will take some time for old wounds to heal, until then Liriale might forgive me. Though I betrayed my promise to her, but you already knew that.” Nicolas said with a sad smile. Then after a sigh, Nicolas smiled cheerfully, “Well, it’s great to be back after wandering around the globe for awhile!” he proclaimed then began to rummage through his drawers muttering. “I knew I left my tea set in here…somewhere….darn…I think Mr. Finkle moved it somewhere!”

When Defi finally walked into the classroom, Tsuki looked up from her book and put it away, thinking 'about time...' She was more than curious about the bags that he carried in, but she would save her question for later. For now, she would do what he asked of her, like the good student she was. Chyna and Tsuki turned to each other at the same exact time, then smiled at doing so before walking over to one another. After waiting for the chaos to die down, they heard the instructions and followed them. Now they sat face-to-face, awaiting further instruction.

Amir peered to see Jin’s eyes give the obstacle course a calculative gaze. Smiling at his determination, Amir turned to see Leah smiling as well at Jin’s raised hand. “Please go ahead Mr. Hoshorru. Also class, thanks to Mr. Kamen who set up this course, it will be out here for you to practice, but I hope you work with a partner when practicing the course. Alright Mr. Hoshorru, you may begin.” Leah announced as she situated herself on one side of the line of logs, while Amir walked over to the other side.

Aura had gulped audibly at the forest of logs. Some reaching up to 20 feet, while other were as low as 3 feet. She didn’t know how to keep her powers under control, for it was a necessity in order to complete the course. She resolved to watch how Jin executed his way through the course.

During Nicholas's response, The Headmaster grabbed a chair in the room and placed it in front of the desk so he could sit. He listened carefully, drinking in every word the old friend said.

"I'm glad your back, Nicholas," he said, honesty ringing clearly in his tone. As he watched the man mumble and search, the Headmaster could not help but laugh. It was a brief exhale that left a smile on his face and nothing more.

"Unless you have a strong craving for tea right now, I would cease this search," he advised Nicholas, for he knew this was only for the Headmaster's benefit. "Let us talk without tea for now. The University was lonely without you. What places captured your attention long enough to draw you away from your home foe so long?" he asked. He would rather listen to Nicholas than talk. The man's conversations always fascinated him, which was partially why they were such good friends.

Emma was very disappointed to see that Sougun would be missing his first lesson. "Alright then, I suppose I should show you all what the power you control can one day do." With that declaration the wind subtly picked up in the room, brushing each student lightly, before it came back to Emma. She remained calm, and allowed her power to lift her off the ground, allowing her to hover off the ground. Several gasps were heard by the startled students. With more concentration, and much strength on her part, she lifted each of her students up, then lightly set them down. She gently touched the ground again. "That is what an Expert level can do, plus talents I can not show you in an enclosed space. Do not be disappointed if you never reach my level, many do not. You are here to gather the basics. Now...on a small side note, the Headmaster does not need to know about my little display. Or I shall be scolded." She could already feel herself weakening, that display took energy she did not have. "Now, each of you create a breeze, the strongest you can, as I point to you."

Nicolas grinned as if caught in the act, he wasn’t a tea nor coffee drinker, but did keep a tea set for the Headmaster’s habitual visits. He tried it every time, who knows maybe he would eventually start drinking it, and with his pinky up. Nope, not going to happen, Nicolas thought as he closed the drawer. At his friend’s question, Nicolas leaned back into his chair and gave him a wistful smile. “It's good to be back home. Well, the day you had received my message of “Needing a long vacation,” recited from his recollection, “I was already out of the country in search of places that would let me ‘get away from it all,’ I guess you could say. My first stop was on a safari in Kenya’s National Park. A beautiful place with sprawling savanna. I was on a tour bus before I decided to go solo, for a bit of course.” He smiled reassuringly at Headmaster, who was used to Nicolas’s wild schemes and on the whim decisions. “I spent two weeks backtracking through the outback with its various inhabitants, met a tribe of very kind Bush Men who taught me some impressive survival skills, was chased around by an angry rhinoceros which I escaped by climbing up a tree.” Nicolas grinned at the memory of running for his life while carrying his heavy backpack, and sprinting only a foot in front of a white 6,600 pound stampeding and extremely moody rhino. Nicolas could calculate the beast's weight from feeling the ground and had no intention of being squashed into a pancake.

“Quite exciting, but I think a week was enough so I took my bag and headed to Rome, Italy. There I strolled leisurely through the rustic streets and visited the magnificent ‘Comune di Roma’ or the Colosseum. Crazy how it was intricately built and at one point filled with water for oceanic battle themed shows in the glorious days of the Roman Empire. While strolling around I found myself walking into a fashion show, where I was mistakingly thought of as one of the models and shooed to the catwalk. Well, you can imagine me trying to walk a straight line, looking ferocious with all those blinding spotlights and flashing cameras. Well, suffice to say I gave them a show they wouldn’t forget. I’m still getting requests to join up as a model, but I have my work cut out for me here.”
He gave a wink to his old pal and smiled as he recalled using his earth powers just a tad to make the ground rumble under his wake and for flower petals to shower the audience. The company were baffled on how the props were put in, but were eager to sign Nicolas up, but he had declined and slipped out of their fingers, something he was very good at.

“Well, I was a nomadic traveler for the most part, my next stop was determined by a map taped to the wall and a lucky dart. It hit Japan!” Nicolas said excitedly. “Of course I didn’t influence it any way” he grinned. “Well while their I visited many temples and even dressed up as a Samurai. A master of ancient art of the katana took me in and taught me some techniques and made me drink…traditional tea…” Nicolas said making a disgusted face. “I would rather drink your tea than that brew! Well, not really wanting to leave Japan where I spent a month, the dart hit Brazil, the Amazon Rain forest. Well, I enjoyed it, you know how I am about flowers and plants, though I could do without the mosquitoes, yikes those bloody buggers drove me crazy!” Nicolas gave an exasperated sigh.

"Now...as Beginners, we all know some type of water control. We all know how to mold water to our will, especially when we don't have to use it for some type of work or chore." Jake reached into one of the bags and pulled out a box. "Anybody know what this is?"

Eyes moved to the box and jaws dropped. That was their lesson of the day?

"We're using the 'Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Robots' toy for our lesson today?" A more than skeptical student asked.

Jake tossed the box to the farther students. Rio had to catch it because the rest scattered like it was a bomb when it came at them. Rolling his eyes the teachers answered. "Yes...it's...part of your defensive work with this class. One person from each pair come up and grab one box for you and your partner. Then I want you to pick a color, with your partner being your opponent, then I want you to concentrate on some water I'm about to give you and morph water around the fists of your fighter like a boxing glove."

Defi then waved a hand and water from the atmosphere outside came streaming in through the windows and formed small bubbles of water above the student's heads. "Open the box and start whenever you're ready."

Jin nodded and slowly made his way to the first log, removing his backpack and placing it on the ground. He readjusted his bandanna just as he stopped under the 10 foot log. Looking up, he figured if maybe they were nice enough to give the students a easy start. His eyes slowly turned gray, as Jin looked at the log entirely. It looked stable, but looks were deceiving.

With a deep exhale, followed by a deep inhale, Jin made the first leap, using his element to quickly compress the air around him and when he jumped, the air decompressed and helped him reach his desired height. He had jumped over the log by about a foot, before slowly coming down to land on the 1 to 2 foot landing on the log. Jin was going to test its stability. He was too concentrated on the landing, that when his foot touched the log, he was flat footed. The instant his toe touched the log, it had begun to fall. The vibrations in the air told him he was falling to the right. Which, to his luck, was the exact opposite direction the second log was positioned. Jin cursed, and his eyes widened as he felt himself fall.
He thought he was done. Already on the first log. How humiliating. But then, his mind clicked, just as he was practically almost 45º into the fall. Without hesitation, Jin pushed off the log and propelled himself further away from the course and watched the log continue to fall. He wasn't about to give up just yet. He couldn't. To humiliate himself in front of a expert student when he had been training himself almost to the point of exhaustion so he could ace the test to expert, he had to show that had the determination, the want and the commitment to continue on to a higher lever.
Jin turned his head to look at the second log. He was about 20 yards away, and had to half a** his calculations so he could throw himself on the two foot landing. Jin extended his arms, palms up in the direction he was falling, and his eyes flared. With in a few heart beats, his palms exploded with compressed air and Jin was flung back towards the second log. With a sigh, Jin could already tell that he had over done it. He would clear the second log by a good five feet. Looks like he calculated too much power.
To recover, Jin turned to face the sky, and extended his arms and faced his palms to the sky. It was risky, but he had a feeling he could do it. The first mess up had been making him screw up. He had to just finish this before he ended up throwing himself across the field and back just to get through the course.
As his body was over the second log, there was another explosion of compressed and and Jins body flew towards the landing of the log. Jin turned in mid air and landed on his right leg. The force of the landing caused the log to sink into the ground about an inch. Not wanting to wait to see if it was stable, Jin looked ahead, and with in a heart beat, launched himself at the third log. Then the fourth, fifth. Till finally, not wanting to trust any of the logs and keeping himself calm and concentrated, he tapped the sixteenth log and with a final push, he let himself free fall to the ground, landing on his feet as he half levitated to the ground.
He turned his head to look at the obstacle course, seeing that only three logs had fallen. The first two, and the 10th log, the highest of them all, about 23 feet he guessed. Jin slightly smiled, glad he managed to get himself out of his mistake in the beginning to give off somewhat of a good finish.

((THANK YOU SO MUCH! *edits*))

She sat facing Tsuki feeling slightly confused why he had chosen the strange robot toys for the lesson instead of anything else. Even for Chyna's age they were...inappropriate. She pushed the thought aside and ran over the instructions mentally. Before beginning she decided to run over the instructions with Tsuki.

"So...we basically harden the water over the fist of these robots with your color choice? And...our robots punch eachother like the regular game is played? And do you want to get the box or me?"

Her face washed over to a slightly puzzled expression as she talked. It seemed simple enough, but she was dissapointed in the robots. She mentally went over her tactics for concentrating the water as she waited for a response from Tsuki.

"That's all I want you to do...make boxing gloves out of water and play with your partner. You can even switch people if you'd like." Jake said aloud and put a toy on his desk and sat down. "When you get the hang of it I want you to come up to the desk and try to beat me." He added as he turned the toy around so the blue character was his to control instead of the red.

Kyu walked around and evaluated the things the students had manipulated their fire into. "Good. Oh I like that. Wow! Thats cool. On no my dear try it like this." Kyu said as she walked past some students but then she stopped. Kyuki noticed a girl in the back corner. She was stunning. Her long black wavy hair fell into her eyes as she contintrated very hard on the shape she was making. Kyuki walked over to her and watched with eager eyes to see the product of her hard work.
----------------------
Akira worked ferverishly as she tried her best to make the sculptor. She didn't even notice when the tearcher walked up to watch what she was doing. Akira was lost in her own concentration. Finally Akira finished and took a few deep breaths. She was tired from using so much energy. Akira smiled as she looked at her final product. It turned out exactly as she intended it to.
---------------------
Kyuki's mouth dropped when she saw what the girl was creating. The designs were so intricate and she wan't even sure of she herself could make something so extensive. Kyu raked her eyes over the symbol that Akira had sculpted her fire into. Kyuki clapped a small series of claps. "My dear that is fabulous what is it?"
"Its my families seal.." Akira said in a meek voice to the teacher.
"Well its lovely. Its very hard to make something so intricate have you ever done this before."
Akira nodded. "Yes I have scuplted my fire into many different things but this is my first attempt at this particular symbol." She said.
Kyuki smiled. "Well, it seems your a very bright and advanced girl. I'm going to like teaching you." Kyu said brightly.

Tsuki was very confused. It wasn't that she didn't want to play, she just didn't understand how putting water over the gloves would help. Still, she refrained from asking questions for now. She smiled at Chyna and got up to retrieve a box without responding. Once she got back, she opened the box and set up the game. Finally, just as they were about to start, she turned to her teacher.

"I don't get it. What's the point of putting the water over the gloves?"
she asked. The water couldn't control the arm, otherwise it would break the fragile plastic toy.
