Well of course I'm entering... I'm almost mxed; I dont really have a choice in the matter since the next series of Chuunin exams won't be until 3 months from now; right?

The chuunin exam will be much sooner than three months from now, should be a month at max depending on this exam. probably some time in january

So.... then the exams now aren't the Chuunin exams
Does that mean that if I pass this exam I won't go from Genin to Chunin???

Yes, if you do well enough, this exam can promote you to Chuunin.
