She raised a brow and looked at him."..Why Does Arlen hate you so much?.." She spoke drinking a bit more sighing contently with herself as she poured a bit more into the glass she held.

"You'd have to ask him that." Vincent answered with a shrug. "Though... I used to work for a man that was Lily's enemy. That probably has a lot to do with it, but I don't speculate on the motivations of others."

"..Now that's a tad off.." She said slowly watching him with stale eyes."..That's it you think?..there has to be more.." She looked at the glass and watched the wine swirl around in the glass.

"That's all I've knowingly done to offend the man." Vincent answered, shrugging again. "Like I said, you'd have to ask him... unless the chit knows." he added letting his eyes wander to Lily.
The teen, still keeping herself busy with cleaning things that probably didn't need it, simply shrugged. "Dunno." she murmured, ears still flopped.

Arlen rolled over on the couch so that he was facing it's back, seemingly unaware that people were talking about him.

Lily sighed, then looked over to Arlen. She wandered back over to the couch he was on, tentatively sitting on the edge, just watching him for the time being, rather certain he wouldn't respond to words.

River listened to the silence then watched Lily for whatever reason she stood up, and left the glass on the counter."..I'm leaving to bed...come get me if problems arise.." She said softly and walked up the stairs, noting the craked open door as she slipped into her room for the night.

"Good night, River." Vincent called, then stood and walked to where Ukaia was sleeping on the floor. Carefully, he gathered the woman into his arms, then sat on an unoccupied couch, holding her against him as he drifted off to sleep himself.

Without saying anything, Arlen took Lily's hand and gently pulled er down so she was laying next to him, and wrapped his arms around her.

Lily gave a small smile, then wrapped herself around Arlen, trying to offer whatever silent comfort she could. Then, like she had with the boy, she began to make the soothing trilling sound, nuzzling his neck.

Arlen still didn't say anything, he didn't know what he could say. He still had no idea what was wrong, but he did know he wanted to be with Lily. So he held her to him, and would until she wanted to move.

Lily nuzzled his neck again, then closed her eyes. "Love you." she whispered, very softly, then squeezed him lightly.

"You too," Arlen said, barely audibly and sounding slightly pained even though his face remained mostly emotionless.

Lily bit her lip at the sound of his voice, then sighed lightly. She tipped her head back enough to kiss his cheek, then settled again, falling silent once more.
