I didn't notice the boots until later.
I think it's the fact that the color is pretty much silver/gray except for her hair and some other details.

I was trying to do those weird antenna-things that substitute for ears you always see in anime. Clearly I've failed. [Edit] Added stealth edit. Which is not stealthy at all, what with it being italicized. I mean, just look at it there, all leaning and s**t. Makes me sick.
