Feeling himself turned over onto his back, Aled winced. His arms were pulled tighter above his head, but the Ou looked up into Avaon's eyes.
"But still?" he asked in a whisper, wondering what this servant had in mind next.
Already Aled sported gashes from Avaon's own nails down his back, as well as many whip lacerations.
And those were just his visible bleeding injuries...

"That that means," Ainsu said with a smile. "That we've got to kill him first. But we have to find Po-ar-kun before that, Kaguyo-chan... without him, we won't be able to move so freely."

Avaon kissed the wounds, licking the blood off his lips. "But still, I am a man of my word." he answered, before going to the next level.
By the time he was done, Aled would be exhausted and absolutely ravaged.
Kaguyo sighed deeply, still stressed. She closed her eyes, resting her head in his lap. "What you mean to say is we're sitting ducks."

Aled's eyes closed, "You give me no reprieve..." he whispered, laying before Avaon.

"Perhaps..." Ainsu nodded. "But I doubt Aled will come after us so soon. At least, not until he knows he had Po-ar-kun well in hand."

Avaon smirked, nuzzling his neck as he continued the act. "But you cannot deny you enjoy it." he whispered, yanking his hair so he could look him in the eyes. "I'm not stopping until you scream for me, my dear Aled-sama."
"He has Po-ar as we speak." Kaguyo shook her head. "He'll be attacking anyday now...any hour... who knows? How can one sleep knowing that?"

Cat-like eyes opened immediately and the Ou looked up at Avaon. "I do enjoy it..." he whispered, lost in Avaon's gaze. "But I am not in the habit of screaming."

"But Po-ar-kun may not have been turned against us yet." Ainsu reminded. "If Aled attacks, we'll know of it. But we can't worry all the time."

Everyone in the room (with the exception of Thom) stared at the child in shock.
"Uh...how about that pet room?" Bubbles finally asked.
Julius nodded. "Korreds and those aware of them is all. And those are becoming rarer each year. A lot of Korred kids feel the same way. Growing up with magic in a world that doesn't believe in magic...what does that leave for them? What kind of place can they find in this world?"

Kazuhiko however had quickly noticed the different reactions from everyone, and quickly became quiet and withdrawn, nodding his head a few times.
"I'm weird." he lamented quietly. "How come no one else can see them?? I don't understand. And Astroboy says hello, he's standing over there bleeding everywhere. I don't understand, what are the little holes in his chest? But he hasn't left for the past...long...time, he says. He misses being part of the gang. He says it's a good idea if I join too. He promised to teach me about the stars. BYE EVERYONE! Bye Astroboy. I'll tell Fir cheerio for you." he nodded.
As they left, Morrigan blinked a few times, watching Kazuhiko wave to all of them---especially the ghost.
"Is he the only one that can see spirits here?" she asked Julius after a while. "He...he isn't crazy, right?"
Avaon sighed. "Well then, we'll simply have to keep going. Is there anything I've forgotten??"
"True." Kaguyo whispered. "But we can't be careless."

Laughing slightly, Aled shook his head. "You bring little danger to bear, Ava-kun... not to mention I can always see the intent in your eyes... to see how frustrated you become with the fact that I have yet to scream for you."

"Had to be a spirit," Julius said quietly, "Astroboy was the head of the research and second-in-command when I was a kid. He was shot a few months before I joined."
"That's damn creepy," Pixel said, after the child had left. "Damn ccreepy. Nw I really need a drink."

Kazuhiko beamed. "Really?" he whispered, resting his head on her shoulder. "Ok. I will. I wanna see the manimals." he smiled. "Can I take a nap with them?? Do they snuggle? I like snuggling." he yawned. "And soft things."
He did have a terrible penchant for anything soft---almost to a thief level, except he never took anything.
His mom would've killed him if he stole.
"When do I get to see Fir?" he pouted. "I gotta tell him, too, you know."
Morrigan blinked in disbelief. "So he wasn't ever making any of it up." she murmured, pulling out a flask of whiskey and moving over to Pixel. "Here, have a few shots on me. I think I'll join you." she whispered, downing three shots in less than fifteen seconds.
"So.... I take it Astroboy wasn't his real name, either." she murmured. "Any other members he might run into?? I can hardly believe any of this."
Ava smiled slightly. "Frustrated isn't the word." he agreed, "But if you like things more dangerous, that I can give."
Kaguyo nodded, keeping close to him. "I don't want to leave your side, not even to bathe." she sighed deeply. "My nerves are shot, Su-kun... I... I keep thinking he'll be there anytime I turn around. I hate it."

"Fir's probably in his office," Bubbles said with a shrug. "Which means he doesn't want to be disturbed. Unless you're Pixel or Julius."

Morrigan nodded, shaking her head. "That boy..." she sighed. "I swear, if Po-ar dies, I won't be able to handle it. I keep worrying that I'm going to end up being terribly inadequate as a parent... between hearing his father's spirit is still around and trying to answer his questions, I don't know what I'd do. He's a child but an adult, you know?"
This was very true.
Kazuhiko shook his head. "Mmm-mm." he disagreed. "Astroboy says I should tell him. He says it's important. Oh. Ok. Thank you!" he waved behind her, skittering out of her arms.
He took off bolting down the hall on all fours, making a beeline for Fir's office.
"FIIIIIIIR!" he shouted cheerfully, all smiles, "Ch-Ch-Ch-CHEEERIO!"
He imitated the ghost almost perfectly, tumbling before reaching the door. "Come out and play!"

Fir opened the door to the office, staring in shock at the child. The Korred looked tired, haggard and slightly skiddish.
"What are you doing Kid?" he asked softly.
"KAZUHIKO!" Bubbles cried, chasing after him. "You can't disturb Fir!"

"I know," Julius said. "You know, the more I think about it, Kazuhiko isn't too much different than a lot of the kids here."

Kazuhiko ignored Bubbles, crawling up into Fir's arms and snuggling the man with a yawn. "Astroboy told me to tell you ch-ch-ch-cheeeerioo, and that he wants me to join." he answered. "You have lots of dead people here. Why? And you're tired. We should take a nap." he hugged him tightly. "I can look at manimals later. Pleeeease? Can I join??" he pouted a bit. "Astroboy says it'll be fun and that you'd be da... daft..? not to. What's that word mean? Oh. Stupid. Yeah! What he said." he pointed behind him. "He said you'd be here."
To Kazuhiko, everything he said was perfectly logical.
"Don't make me go."
Morrigan nodded, but it seemed she was actually contemplating something.
"What are the terms of joining the Fir Darrigs?" she asked after a while, looking to Julius. "P...Po-ar might be against it... but you know, at first glance, his joining might not be a bad idea. He'd be safe if something happened to us... He'd be able to help lots of people... make friends like himself... Po-ar wants to enroll him in a public school, but I'm wary about it."

"First rule," Julius said gravely, "Undying loyalty to the Fir Darrigs. Second rule: The Fir Darrigs are your first family, placed before blood. It's not a clubhouse, Morrigan and not something that can be joined on a whim."

Fir looked to Bubbles and wave her away. "You should be at the infirmary," he said before taking Kazuhiko inside his office and locking the door. He plopped the child down in a leather armchair.
"Okay, Kid. Talk. Who told you about Astroboy?"
