I wish I still had aim and that my dad would allow me to reinstall it. He says aim is evil and causes pop-ups. stare T3h nazi strikes again.

AIM is pretty much an evil entity of unspeakable things but the cause of pop-ups come from those nasty lil' hentai sites you find yourself stumbling upon at 3am in the morning. Sadly, in my case, I don't STUMBLE upon them smile

If your dad uses Internet Explorer, there we go. That's the source of all the pop ups. Not AIM. Friggin adware. x_x; LoL. Eversince I found out that it was IE that gave us the bagel virus and everything on my computer, right after he used it, he stopped blaming me for any computer things that he did. LoL. Pwnage.
But seriously, tell him that some websites uploads adware into your computer when you just view a certain page, and the adware is what causes all the pop ups and other crap.
If it is a problem right now as well, you can try getting Ad-aware, and stop using IE, and use FireFox instead. Ever since I stopped using IE, my computer stopped freezing and stuff too.

Sadly, in my case, I don't STUMBLE upon them smile AIM is indeed evil and has its pop-up ads, but those are only launched directly from the program anyway. What you want is Trillian--the uber chat client that does everything and doesn't have nasty banner ads. 3nodding Edit: Download page for the latest version of Trillian. And they're 7 pm GMT - 6, I think, so I guess 1 am GMT? Could be an hour or so off.
