Rage, any idea what could be the cause of my computer suddenly freezing up immediately upon start up?
>< I thought it was due to this naxty ViewMgr.exe crap... I took that all off, but it is still freezing up on me today

Don't feel sorry for those savages. They attacked me for without reason and killed the dog I started the fortress with.

It's a perfectly good statement. Why not indeed.
Viewmgr.exe is actually needed from what I remember.

If it's freezing right when the computer starts up... it could be a... well, startup program. The easiest way to figure that out would be to just start the computer in Safe Mode (just kinda mash on F8 when the computer starts up and select it from the list) and see if it has the same problem.
Since Safe Mode pretty much stops all services and startup processes from running, if it doesn't freeze you'll at the very least know that it's probably something along those lines. Problem being that you'll have to figure out what program it is... but at least you'll be on the right track. sweatdrop

Viewpoint Media Player (viewmgr.exe) is believed to install with AIM. It is either malware, adware, or at best entirely unneeded. It won't cause actual harm to your computer, though, and wouldn't be responsible for the freezing on startup.
As Rage said, if it works in safe-mode that narrows it down to drivers that only run in normal mode and startup programs. If it freezes even in safe-mode, that narrows it down even further to the actual Windows installation. If that's the case, I imagine that reformatting will be your only recourse.
Also, Dirge, what name am I giving you? Also, there's gotta be someone that knows how to sew halfway decently and can be the fortress tailor. Bonus points if it's not one of the wimmenz. =D
