Heath Ledger's version of the Joker definitely gave me a psychotic vibe. Jack Nicholson's Joker just struck me as an XL a-hole with a bad sense of humor. But then all of the older superhero movies tended to overwhelm me with a strong scent of cheese. XD Perhaps this newer level of grit just wasn't feasible in the earlier movies/for the earlier audiences.

0mega_Virus I really could debate about Batman all day. My brother and I are avid fans of the series. We collected the comics for quite a bit, read the novels, and liked to compare him to other superheroes and how he was superior to them in alot of aspects. @w@! Who is your favorite Batman villain? Who's your favorite Batman comic writer? Artist? Have you ever read "Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth?" That's one of my favorites. Batman is of course the most dangerous in the Justice League, considering his contingency plans to take down every hero, "just in case." Have you ever seen any of the animated movies? What're your thoughts on "Batman Beyond" or "Batman: The Bold and the Beautiful?"

*Giggles and huggles onto Nami* I'm just a Batman "weenie" when it comes to you, Pete, and his bro X'D Teach me your ways too!
I sadly didn't get to collect Batman comics since I was too busy collecting X-Men, Lady Death, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Gold Digger comics; which slowly dwindled into just a crap ton of trading cards later on. Only so much money I could spend on lovely fantasy characters in those days :'3

Only so much money I could spend on lovely fantasy characters in those days :'3 *geeky glasses adjustment* @~@ I actually read only a few comics when I was young, though like you, I did have more than a few Top Cow comics (Lady Death, Purgatory, Witchblade). I also tried to get a hold of as many X-men comics as I could, but unfortunately, I didn't have much of my own money and my parents were rather insistent on buying me great literary tomes instead of comics. I'd watched all the DC cartoons I could, but I didn't start getting into the Batman comics until I was living on my own. I do try to buy a handful of comics (the thick compilations, not the individual stories) a year, but finances have been tight lately. Kari: It's a good series. 3nodding Check out the Batman Beyond movie, "Return of the Joker" sometime. You might like it. On a somewhat related note, I wish Gaia had a comic book item. *o*

Konami Shojou Who is your favorite Batman villain? I have afew, actually~! I love the Riddler for his puzzles and scheming abilities I love Bane, mostly because he plays one of the major roles in the Knightfall storyarc Joker, of course, because he hits Batman in sooooo many ways. I could go on, but those are the main ones. Konami Shojou Who's your favorite Batman comic writer? Frank Miller, Bob Kane, and the writers who put together the whole Knightfall story arc (Chuck Dixon, Jo Duffy, Alan Grant, Dennis O neal, and Doug Moench) @_@ Too many too count. I love most of the art done by the team for KnightFall (way too many ppl to name) and of course David Mazzucchelli for Year One Konami Shojou Have you ever read "Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth?" Can't say I have. What is it about? Konami Shojou Have you ever seen any of the animated movies? Yea. My brother owns most, if not all of them. I liked Mask of the Phantasm, Konami Shojou What're your thoughts on "Batman Beyond" I think it was well written, and the charatcers were awesomely put together. I didn't like some of the villians, and also how all the high tech gadgets did almost everything for Terry. Bruce, I guess, is just one of a kind @w@ Konami Shojou What're your thoughts on "Batman: The Bold and the Beautiful?" Never heard of it. I'll have too look into it a bit more. *adjusts his pocket calculator*

I love the Riddler for his puzzles and scheming abilities I love Bane, mostly because he plays one of the major roles in the Knightfall storyarc Joker, of course, because he hits Batman in sooooo many ways. I could go on, but those are the main ones. I quite concur, with the exception of Bane. I tend to go for the more cerebral villains instead of the musclebound heavy hitters, but then again, good writing can make said heavys nicely complex. Quote: Frank Miller, Bob Kane, and the writers who put together the whole Knightfall story arc (Chuck Dixon, Jo Duffy, Alan Grant, Dennis O neal, and Doug Moench) Oh, my~ That's a bit of a mixed bag of writers, all of which really fleshed out Batman and helped make him what he is today. Actually, I'm not all that knowledgeable about the Knightfall story line. I considered picking it up, but as I mentioned, I'm not a HUGE Bane fan. Quote: @_@ Too many too count. I love most of the art done by the team for KnightFall (way too many ppl to name) and of course David Mazzucchelli for Year One I really like Tim Sale's work, but I think I'm biased since he did a Catwoman comic I love, "When In Rome." And lest we forget, Bruce Timm, the man responsible for the classic retro yet edgy look of the animated series. Quote: Can't say I have. What is it about? It may be a bit artsy for your tastes, I dunno. It's basically an exploration of Batman's psychosis. Joker takes control of Arkham and hold people hostage and Batman has to enter the madhouse, all while coming to terms with his own craziness. One of my favorite scenes is when, once Batman finally comes face to face with the main menagerie of villains, they all want to take off his mask to see his "real face." Joker doesn't let them, saying snidely that Batman IS his real face. It was just such a perfect picture of how much Joker understands Batman and how sad that really is. The author has some slight pretension, but he at least fully admits to it. XD Quote: Yea. My brother owns most, if not all of them. I liked Mask of the Phantasm. Oh, that's my favorite too. *O* But, if you haven't seen it yet, check out "Batman: Gothic Knight." It's a bunch of mini stories with a variety of different production teams a la "The Animatrix." Quote: I think it was well written, and the charatcers were awesomely put together. I didn't like some of the villians, and also how all the high tech gadgets did almost everything for Terry. Bruce, I guess, is just one of a kind @w@ Yeah, there really can only be one Bruce, despite scientific efforts otherwise. ninja I kinda liked the high tech aspect of it, though I do agree it makes Terry less impressive. But I also appreciate that Terry is a lot more morally grey than Bruce in a lot of ways, thus freeing himself from the strict code Bruce tended to abide by. Quote: Never heard of it. I'll have too look into it a bit more. *adjusts his pocket calculator* XD For me, the jury is still out...it's a new series in a new "universe," so to speak. It's definitely a nod to the old camp Batman. There doesn't seem to be any real continuing plot, but we do get to see a lot of Justice League heroes working with him that we rarely every saw before back in the old JL days. ... redface Um...sorry to dominate the thread with Batman talk, guys. I so rarely get to get my comic book geek on. *cough* If you want to talk more, Peter, feel free to PM me. >_>;; And don't worry about it, Malee! There are very many types of geeky. 3nodding

That's it exactly~ It doesn't even need to have a discernible cover, just a lot of bright colors. Though I'm sure several of Gaia's NPCs wouldn't mind having their very own comic book series. XD

I was having another go at pixelling sweets, and I happened across a fake-food site, and with it, this:
[x]
I've never really been big on comic-book fandom, although six or seven years back I used to read gaming magazines for some reason...
A variety magazine item might be nice, actually. comic book, magazine with a girl on the cover, with a guy on the cover, etc.
