Who is your favorite Batman villain? Who's your favorite Batman comic writer? Artist? Have you ever read "Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth?" That's one of my favorites. Batman is of course the most dangerous in the Justice League, considering his contingency plans to take down every hero, "just in case." Have you ever seen any of the animated movies? What're your thoughts on "Batman Beyond" or "Batman: The Bold and the Beautiful?"

I never collected any comic books or read any comic books growing up. I feel so non-geeky.

I quite concur, with the exception of Bane. I tend to go for the more cerebral villains instead of the musclebound heavy hitters, but then again, good writing can make said heavys nicely complex.



Oh, my~ That's a bit of a mixed bag of writers, all of which really fleshed out Batman and helped make him what he is today. Actually, I'm not all that knowledgeable about the Knightfall story line. I considered picking it up, but as I mentioned, I'm not a HUGE Bane fan.



I really like Tim Sale's work, but I think I'm biased since he did a Catwoman comic I love, "When In Rome." And lest we forget, Bruce Timm, the man responsible for the classic retro yet edgy look of the animated series.



It may be a bit artsy for your tastes, I dunno. It's basically an exploration of Batman's psychosis. Joker takes control of Arkham and hold people hostage and Batman has to enter the madhouse, all while coming to terms with his own craziness. One of my favorite scenes is when, once Batman finally comes face to face with the main menagerie of villains, they all want to take off his mask to see his "real face." Joker doesn't let them, saying snidely that Batman IS his real face.

It was just such a perfect picture of how much Joker understands Batman and how sad that really is. The author has some slight pretension, but he at least fully admits to it. XD



Oh, that's my favorite too. *O* But, if you haven't seen it yet, check out "Batman: Gothic Knight." It's a bunch of mini stories with a variety of different production teams a la "The Animatrix."



Yeah, there really can only be one Bruce, despite scientific efforts otherwise. ninja I kinda liked the high tech aspect of it, though I do agree it makes Terry less impressive. But I also appreciate that Terry is a lot more morally grey than Bruce in a lot of ways, thus freeing himself from the strict code Bruce tended to abide by.



XD For me, the jury is still out...it's a new series in a new "universe," so to speak. It's definitely a nod to the old camp Batman. There doesn't seem to be any real continuing plot, but we do get to see a lot of Justice League heroes working with him that we rarely every saw before back in the old JL days.

comic books I love reading wonder woman though not as much recently. Batman and wonder woman seem to be at odd with each other and there beliefs do not help that
