I'm curious now. Wait, someone actually plays Magic here besides me? *dies* :1 *raises hand* My parents collected the cards from 1993 to 1995. I only play with those cards; the new ones are ridiculous. P: Some of the new ones aren't completely ridiculous. O: Some of them are quite helpful and can turn the tables in a single turn. Everything's too cheap and powerful >:1 BACK IN MY DAY YOU'D BE LUCKY IF YOU GOT A 5/5 OUT BEFORE YOU WERE HALF DEAD Okay maybe that's an exaggeration. I don't think I have any 5/5s in my deck anyways. - w-;; I revolve around Uncle Istvan, Sorceress Queen, Royal assassin and Tor Wauki P: My deck is highly defensive c: I'm pretty sure that some of the old cards are way more ridiculous and broken than the new stuff. Case in point: The Power Nine The Moxen (Mox Pearl, Jet, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald) Completely ridiculous mana acceleration. Ancestral Recall: 3 cards for 1 blue mana? Sign me up! I don't think I even need to mention stuff like Black Lotus and Timetwister. blah blah argument blah

I'm not trying to argue, I'm just saying that Wizards R&D refuses to print anything even remotely as powerful as those were anymore. Power creep is unavoidable in a game like this, but it gets mitigated by separate formats.
