I love the Tiers.

I'm not exactly a fan of all-legendary teams, or most legendary pokemon at all for that matter.

And the entire website is like a cheat-sheet for newbs like me.

some legendaries just simply arn't that good and are in normal tiers, sometimes for bad typing or other reaosns they even get put in NU XD kinda funny to think that a big scary lengedary like entei is in the same tier as a butterfree xd (at least he was, he may have been moved up iono)

Teirs are awesome.
Smogon's sets and EV guides, not so much. They're way too predictable. xD
But they are a good start for a newbie, at least until they understand well enough to come up with their own ideas.

You know you've been playing too long when you can faintly hear the music in your head ...

Even when the game is off.

Poor guy. So that's where they went. I like Entei.

What I don't like most about legendary pokemon is that you can't breed them. They're at a set starting level, and that's it.

smogons no answer for learning to battle its a personal prejiduce machine so people have an excuse to brag and do no work in facing tough opponents in the decade ive been a trainer i learned everything off the land from my victory in johto to my victory over cynthia i accept no excuses for lack of training if you wanna be tough catch em train em in grass for a week and match moves based on individual type, and highest stat of that pokemon for example pikachu sp-atk is higher and is electric so use shock wave it never misses goes first thanks to pikachus speed and does 60 dmg x2 because of high sp atk and type match so its 120 instead of 60 if super effective its 180, w/ a light ball its 240 dmg and 40 pp, did smogon teach you like this?
PostPosted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 11:48 pm

no, they taught me better... (actually, I learned everything I know from serebii/play testing against friends)

for one, its not x2 for being the same type, it x1.5

thunderbolt is way better as its 95 power, and 100 acc which means it never misses, with the exception of lowered/raised acc/evasion.

beating the e4 in any game does not compare to competetive battling... at all.

The type multiplier is 1.5, not 2.

And Pikachu really isn't that fast, it's pretty average in speed.

the EVs he gets by leveling in grass probably make it fast XD (at leats compared to poke with 0speed EVs

The trainers in the game, kind of suck. xD Terrible AI, even the champs and fronteir brains are pretty lackluster. Competitive battling trainers are a huge step above them

I don't often apologize for being a grammar nazi often, but I had some problems reading this.

Aw, but I think you're bashing where it's not deserved. Sure, I've learned the vast majority of my knowledge from endless replays of the game, and I enjoy researching Pokemon one by one as I tested them for my own.

Although, I'm used to the easy-mode Switch style against NPCs. You know, where you can train ten levels over your opponent, research their line-ups, and they don't always use the fully evolved forms. Or the gyms when you already know what types they'll use.

That's fairly stunted everything I have learned. I'd always type-match for STAB and super-effective moves, and out-speed everything. I've had to throw aside pokemon I've really liked because of speed issues. My poor Tropius.

Hell, I used to laugh at pokemon like Blissey for an unbelievably small attack, and poor speed. I thought it was pretty trash that only went in my PC box.

I got nothing against Smogon.
