God works in mystrious ways :;dryly, a touch of bitterness in her tone before she can help herself:: sorry... but you KNOW how i feel about him...

*Ran flew through the night sky with a direct focus in his mind. He wasn't sure what he was going to do now. The more he thought about it, the more angry he became. He finally flew to the city tower and landed gracefully on the top, standing and looking down at the city, hundreds of feet below him. "You can't give you heart to two people." Hikari's words echoed repeatingly in his mind. He didn't know what to do. He had developed a love for both Ranpha and Hikari, but knew that he had to come to a conclusion and decide one that would eternally grasp his heart. For nearly an hour, Ran stood and tormented himself with the thoughts. Hikari had always been carefree and attentive, althought clumsy, and that was something that had drawn Ran in. Ranpha was loving and caring and fully supported him. That's why he loved her. Now he would have to hurt one of them. But why? Why did things have to be so complicated. Ran pulled at his hair and began to feel a tear sprout from his eye. He couldn't take this. Everything he had done in his life had always hurt someone. In his childhood and past he had tormented Cain. In his school times he had teased and bullied his own sister Kisa. And now he would shatter a heart of someone so close to him. Why? Why did he have to be so cruel?! Why did he have to be a demon?! He didn't want to be anymore!! He didn't want to hurt anyone anymore*

I can't take this!!!! *Ran screamed out loud then dropped his head and spoke in a whisper* I..I can't take it...

*Ran dropped off the tower and spread his wings out once again. He flew through the air like a bullet, seeking Hikari. He knew that his love for Ranpha was solid and that he had acted with Hikari on the heat of the moment. He had to tell her this because it was the truth. Wasn't it? Ran couldn't think straight. He just knew that he had to find her and fast. He had to start making amends now or else things would only get worse. He quickly landed at the ferris wheel and felt that she had left. He could also feel Ranpha seeking him out. He couldn't let them find each other. He had to stop it!* I'm not going to lose them!! *Ran flew close to the ground, soaring thru the crowd. The dust around spin behind him as he whisked by. He focused on Hikari's life energy and finally found her walking. He came up behind and his wings spread wide, making a loud booming sound as he came to an instant halt and landed on one knee. He looked up at the depressed Hikari and gasped for air* We...we need to...to talk....

Ran looked up and got to his feet. He stepped forward and grabbed Hikari by the hand. "We need to go and talk, now. I've got to get things straight before Cain or Ranpha or anyone else shows up. This is my only chance." He wrapped his arms around Hikari and took to the air once again, heading back to the tower that he just came from.

Hikari didn't have a chance to say anything as she was quickly grabbed by Ran. She closed her eyes...she was kind of afraid of heights and flying, well, she still wasn't used to that. She stayed quiet and held on tightly as Ran took them to the tower.

Ran flew them to a level near the top of the tower. Electric fans and the wind blew around them and Ran set Hikari on her feet. He took a breath and walked to the edge of the tower, looking outwards. "I'm sorry Hikari...I...I shouldn't have..." He stumbled over his words and closed his eyes as the cool breeze blew over him. "I never...I can't do this anymore..."

Hikari stood in silence for a few moments on the tower. She looked downward and kneeled down, bringing in her knees to her chest. She waited a few more moments as the night air blew through her long hair before she spoke softly. "...it's not your fault Ran.....I already told you that I'm partly to blame as well.....but Ran I want to ask you....remember when we first met?" she asked softly.

Ran turned around and looked at her, a hint of sorrow in his eyes. He felt a quick stab in his soul but still managed to give a weak smile. "Yea...I remember. I tried to take your soul but you and Cain wouldn't have any part of it." He laughed half-heartedly and then continued to remember the events. "Then Ranpha showed up and...that was a wierd night."

Hikari slowly stood up and looked at Ran. Her eyes went soft and she gave a small smile. "....Ran..." she said softly as she walked up to him and placed her hand over his heart. "...you can take my soul now.....and end the trouble I've caused.....please...." she pleaded softly.

Ran looked at her and wrapped his fingers around the small soft hand that laid on his chest. "Kari I...I don't want your soul. Not like that...I only want your heart. It's...not your fault. I love Ranpha, I do...but I love you too. That's..." He hesistated. "That's why it's my fault and...I think I need to leave..." He looked at her and slid a hand onto her cheek, her warmth offering slightly consolidation. "I don't want to hurt you, Ranpha, or Cain anymore..."

"Ran.....I already told you and I'll tell you agin, I'm partly to blame....and if I'm giving you my soul...." she removed her hand that was was over Ran's heart. She then slowly began to walk backwards til she knew she was halfwawy the to edge and stopped. "....I'm also giving my heart as well.....please don't leave...I will..." she spoke softly and clearly still wearing a small smile and her eyes still soft.

"Baka!!" Ran dashed forward and grabbed onto her with both hands. His voice was stern yet it seemed to plead with her. The wind had begun to rise and their hair fluttered in the strong breeze. "Why would you do something like that?! You have a whole life to live! You have friends! You have everything!" He closed his eyes and hugged her close to him. "I'm just a demon...I'm a being that's not even suppose to be here, so don't..." Ran held her close and felt a tear drop from his eye and onto her shoulder. This was becoming to hard for him to handle. He couldn't bare to see Hikari like this. Even now...he was managing to hurt someone.

Hikari looked down. Her smile now had faded and she felt on her shoulder Ran's tear drop. She felt tears of her own threatening to fall but tried her hardest not to let them. She felt Ran grab her hands and gathered her thoughts before speaking. "....what do I have to live for? ...no family and I hurt my friends who were the closet thing to a family I've had....if you think you''re saving me by doing this....then you're mistaken....Ran please..let me do this....It's my choice....and my choice alone..."

"No, I can't let you go...not like that..." His voice fell to a whisper. "...not alone." Ran lifted his head and looked Hikari in the eye.


"Let's go together."


Hikari shook her head no her tears beginning to fall. "..Ran you have Ranpha..." she broke her hands out of Ran's and slowly stepped back. "...be with her...she loves you..." when she felt she reached the edge she stopped. "...Ran, please, for me.....stay and be with Ranpha...you know in your heart it's right....and I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused...." she stopped for a moment to smile a sweet innocent smile at Ran. "......good bye..." she said simply and softly before putting her arms out to the side and fell backwards with her eyes closed.

"Kari!!" Ran dashed after her and dove off the side. He fell beside her and wrapped his arms around her, spreading his wings and pulling them into a brisk flight. "Kari...I do love Ranpha, but this life has become nothing but pain to her and others due to my actions. If you're going to go, then I'll go with you. We can go together...and the pain will end." Ran held Hikari tightly against him and turned through the air.

They circled the tower repeatingly as they flew higher and higher. They had created this fate together, and they would face the end together. They breezed past the tower top and into the open air as Ran folded his wings in. They flew upwards slightly more before arcing over and freefalling towards the city of stars below them. Loving visions of past experiences and loved ones would flash before them as they floated in the night sky. Ran held his eyes shut and buried his head into the top of her shoulder. "Now...Now it's over and we can be together..." Ran uttered those last words with a tear rolling onto Hikari's shoulder.

Hikari felt her tears flow even more as they fell. He would die with her...she closed her eyes as they fell...her hair blowing rapidly in the wind. She held tightly onto Ran, resting her head on his chest and hearing the final beats of his heart. She felt his tear on her shoulder and listened his last words......as they were nearing impact she opened her eyes to look at Ran....


"...yes..together..." Hikari whispered softly, giving Ran one final kiss before the impact as her tears, not of sadness but happiness, continue to flow.

A moment later the warm envelope of darkness overcame them both, and all was put at ease in the gentle relief that is eternity.

Haruka had indeed returned back home but not inside, "I hope nii-chan doesn't mind me exploring alittle bit.." She spread her wings flying around slightly enjoying the view and landed on the apartment buildings roof or whatever, "Sugoi...I never knew Earth had beautifu scenary..."

She sat down hugging her knees to her chest as her wings wrapped around herself, "Of course the people that lives on Earth are confusing in some way.."

Serving god is the greatest joy, yes that is correct.
