Beta Ray Bill
Talk to Virgil sometime about irate customers.
The lad has stories...

Hoo yeah... my job is irate customers. xp

I think it's worse when your 'customers' are your students. Nothing worse than trying to teach someone who isn't listening. Then they go and complain.

"Look at Exercise 1 and work through the vocabulary."

"Yeah, yeah yeah."

"What's another word for attractive?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah."

*getting angry* "Attractive, what does it mean?"

"What?"

"This first word on exercise 1!"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah.... attractive? What does that mean?"

stressed *restraining oneself*

45 minutes of him and his "yeah yeah yeah" and I nearly threw the book at him. So glad he left because I was a "bad" teacher.

There's little worse than disinterested, unenthusiastic students. They drive me crazy in my training classes, because I KNOW they're not listening and I KNOW they're going to do it wrong when they start doing the job.

It would be nice, however, if there was more focus on the X number of folks doing a good job, rather then the one doing the bad job once class is over.

So, as I went about my physical therapy, I was talking with this nice older lady who was doing the same type as I. We seemed to be getting along just fine until she stood up to move on to see her attendant when she lost her balance and fell...

Instinctivly I jumped up and and tried to help her back to her feet...I thought it would be nice and it's what my mamma taught me.

This is the response I got :

"I don't need your help and i'm perfectly able to do it on my own! Now take your hands away before I yell!"

Keep in mind, she was already yelling and attracted a great deal of attention.

OLD PEOPLE ARE RUDE! scream

We don't have customers at UPS, but I've heard stories of weird packages and such.

Apparently a full hazmat response is needed when a canister of bull semen bursts all over the conveyer belt. xp

I see your conveyer belt of semen and raise you one UPS truck full of a box of spilled dead kittens.

Touche.

(Could someone tell me how to do the line over the e?)

Conveyer belt? HA. One of my former co-workers had the (unknowingly) broken canister spill on him.

That's why I like teaching what I do. The threat of swift and horrible violence tends to focus the class. Nothing gets an eight-year-olds attention like a kendo sword swinging right for his empty little melon.

Gosh I'd love to get a kendo sword to "help" teach my children. Though I do admit to liking half of the little darlings.

Guess I can't complain about the wee turdlings for at least a week.

My Sensei Sense was buzzing tonight, meaning my students were up to something. That or someone wasn't chambering their hand properly. It's a very acute sense.

My students all conspired behind my back and hit me with a surprise baby shower tonight. I've been beseiged by many, many pink things.

Nice party, complete with a random marmot and a call to animal control.

It can never be a normal time around me, can it?
