It was all Miranda could do to kepp from laughing. "It's not that bad. Besides, mutant aliens look way better than actual people. I wish I was a mutant alien." Now she couldn't stand it anymore. She burst out laughing.

Miranda laughs along with Miranda. ((It souds weird again!)) "Sorry! I can't help it! When someone laughs, it's like tickling me! I end up laughing really hard!" Miranda laughs even harder.

Mikki looks at Miranda's picture. "We all have our weak points. Mine is like, all of drawing, but sometimes I have my good days. (the key word being sometimes, which is like, one out of every month). Unless its stick peeps. I'm good at those!"
Mikki is suddenly overcome by a HUGE yawn.
"Well, it is getting to be that time. I better go up to bed!"

Mikki pulls a bundle out of her pocket and walks over to Miranda.
"Wanna join?"
Mikki makes a pouty face, hoping it looks somewhat like a sad puppy. It doesn't.

"Sweet!" Mikki pulls on the end of the Wizard cracker and gets a new pointy hat! "I've been needing one of those! Your turn, Miranda!"

"OK!" Miranda pulls the end of the Wizard Cracker and gets a new set of quills. "Yes! I've been running out of these too much!" Miranda sees an owl at the window, but it isn't her owl. "Hey, where's Stardust?" Miranda walks to the owl and takes the letter. A few minutes later she shoves the letter in her robes. "I can't believe it..." Miranda digs around her trunk and takes out her scarf, and wraps it around her face. Beneath the scarf, Miranda was shedding a few tears.

Mikki noticed the sudden change in Miranda's mood. She was very worried.
Mikki, suddenly reminded of the recent epiphany at the feast, took out her own quill and parchment and wrote to her mother.

Miranda shakily nods her head from beneath her scarf. "Stardust was killed during a flight...." she mumbled. "I'm going to have to send a letter to my mum and dad..." Miranda gets out a quill and parchment.Quote: Dear Mum and Dad,
I just recieved a letter saying that Stardust was killed during one of her flights. This isn't my owl that I'm sending, but I'll be getting a new owl within a few days. I miss you both, Hogwarts is great. I just thought I'd let you both know what happened.

Mikki goes over to Miranda and hugs her.
"It's okay, I'm sure died with a fight. At least she'll always be in your memory. And until you get a new owl, you can use Belle, as long as it's not something too big."

Miranda forces out a smile. "Thanks, I think I'll be getting a new owl by the end of today."

"I'll be right back, I'm going to Diagon Alley...to get a new owl!" Miranda quickly runs out of the room.
About 2 hours later, Miranda returns to the Common Room and heads up the the Girl's Dormitry. She sits back on the bed with Mikki. "Look! I've gotten a new owl! I had to go to Gringotts, I forgot that Mum and Dad wouldn't let me take galleons here. I don't know why though...."
Miranda holds up her new owl. "I named her Starfire. I just wanted to continue with Stardust." Miranda looks at Starfire's feathers. "I guess she looks somewhat like Stardust, but she'll never be as good as her." Miranda strokes Starfire's head. "I hope that she doesn't leave me. Oh ya! I forgot that I should probably send Mum and Dad a letter saying that I've gotten a new owl." She quickly gets out parchment and a quill.Quote: Dear Mum and Dad,

Carrigan let Miranda enter the Common Room before him, stepping in behind her with a small noise. The room itself was practically empty save for a house elf stoking the fire-- he expected that the other students were up in the girl's dormitory, which made him feel incredibly out of place being the only male currently living in the dorm. He took Miranda by the hand now, refusing to touch her by the shoulder, and pulled her over to the stairwell. "We should talk up in the boy's dormitories in case anyone comes in... I don't particularly want to be overheard," Carrigan said shakily, looking over his shoulder at the Common Room's entrance as though expecting someone to come in right at that moment. "I'm the only male in the dormitory, so we won't be interrupted." he paused, flushed, and added hastily, "Don't take that the wrong way, please, Miranda. We just need somewhere... private."
