WAAAGH! That UFO is going to abduct your birds. Nice birds. It says WAAAGH! in the codex?
PostPosted: Thu Feb 01, 2007 4:13 pm

Yeah.
It's spelt photography, but everyone know's it's said "foe-tog-ra-fee".

It's "Wargh" in the pronunciation, and Waagh in spelling.

"Let's gear up for INSANE SCREAM!"
"Let's gear up for WAR!"

I'd say pretty old. About the same time Abaddon was on the cover of the Chaos Codex, I'd reckon.

17 years. Pre-Abaddon-Codex.

Er... the book is. The image is a few hours old, since I just scanned it. razz

Wow.
THAT old.
D:

I thought of another reason that it's Wargh and not Wagh. It sounds more English. GW's a British company, and so logically, they'd have English accents and the like.

I commonly refer to the Ork accent as "British thug" - a distinct accent made popular State-side by movies like Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.

Nothing irks me worse than most people's attempt at an Ork-speak. Which usually constitutes talking or typing like an idiot.

You may still - that's technically pre-use-of-the-word-Codex.
