Shizuka looked out in no direction in particular, her disposition apprehensive, hoping that Faust would return okay. After all, Naosuke may not have been the only one looking for them...

"Johannes, they've always seen you like this. Don't you remember the girl's eyes when she first met you?" Dr. Wagner asked, a fang glinting in the corner of his smile.
Faust shivered. "Not your business. It's all in my head... you're all in my head...."
"Maybe. Do you remember your sessions with me, back when you were a doctor in Germany, Johannes?"
Faust struggled to remember. "Yes. Eliza told me to see a psychiatrist... and I found you. And then she came to one of our sessions... and found me alone."
"Alone, or complete?"

Shizuka made up her mind, and decided that she wouldn't make the same stupid mistake over again. Not sure that Amaya would approve, she scribed her thoughts on paper again.
I'm getting worried. I wanna go look for Faust-san.

"faust, who's Faust?" he grabbed the paper and toyed with it too much so it ripped apart. "whoops, sorry"he said in a tone that sounded like he didn't mean it, (but he actually did) rolleyes

Manta cringed as the paper tore, but made sure that he saw its message before it was unreadable. "Faust is our friend, Naosuke. I left him in the woods. He told me to run, so I did." Manta hung his head, ashamed. "Shizuka, I remember where he was, so can I come with you? I'm not a shaman, but I do care."
(meanwhile)
"Complete." Faust repeated incredulously. "No, not complete. You can't honestly think that Eliza would have believed..."
"She couldn't see me because you're enlightened, Johannes. Special. A shaman."
"But, you're not a ghost," protested Faust. "You're... a delusion. A figment of my imagination. If I was in control, I'd be ignoring you right now. I'm going to start immediately."
Dr. Wagner narrowed his eyes angrily. "If you ignore me, I'll make sure that everything you care about falls into ruin before the night is over. You know of whom I speak," he added, grinning as Faust's shoulders slumped in defeat.

Shizuka gave a quick nod as Amaya tried to protest the idea.
"I'm sure he'll come back soon. We don't need to look for him. If he isn't back by morning, you can go, but you should at least leave Manta-san here. You don't seriously want to get him into any danger, do you?"
Amaya, Faust-san is my friend. He's Manta-kun's friend too. We're both worried, so we should both look for him. Anyway, Manta-kun knows the area that Faust-san probabaly is.

Naosuke smiled, "that's who he is"he said " I'll help search with you guys". He was actually thinking... I'll steal his oracle bell and run away quickly twisted he hid the thought with a face that looked concerned and of intrest to finding Faust-San

Shizuka flicked Naosuke on the forehead, seeing through his act. She always had a strance talent for seeing through deceit. Her glare let him know exactly why she flicked him.

he groaned realizing he'd been seen through and wasn't going to get to go mad " I'll really help you guys" he said in the same tone, except he really meant it this time.

Shizuka gave a breif smile to express that she knew that he meant his answer this time, and motioned for Manta to lead the way.

Manta turned, shivering as he faced the woods. "I'm such a coward," he groaned. "It was back this way. Come on, Shizuka, and, um..." he looked down at the reanimated wolf, which still gazed up expectantly at him, "... Loki." Suddenly, the wolf slumped to the ground. Faust's mana had left it, and it lay still. "Let's go!" Manta cried fearfully, heading into the woods. If Faust's energy had faded, it might only be a matter of time before the rest of him did.
(meanwhile)
"You suffer in this life, don't you?" Dr. Wagner asked, steepling his fingers and regarding Faust with false pity.
Faust nodded resignedly. "Every waking moment. But, there is a future... there is hope in the children of the next generation, in Manta and Shizuka...!"
"But, there is no hope for you, Johannes. You have no family, no heir, no way to continue your legacy. Your future is extinguished."
"Perhaps you could help me, doctor?" Faust asked hopefully, pleading silently with his eyes.
"Of course I'll help," replied Dr. Wagner gently, his fingers closing around Faust's neck.

Shizuka knew what the reanimated wolf's falling meant, and followed close behind. She would not let anyone close to her die. Not now. Not ever again...
She quickly shook the memory from her head. This was no time for past misery and grudges to cloud her thinking. Shizuka was on a mission now.

"You know that I don't even need to use force," explained Dr. Wagner, tightening his grip. "All you have to do is let go. Stop fighting and take the long sleep."
"But... I don't want to stop fighting..." Faust choked. "There are people that still need me..."
"What do you owe them? Just close your eyes. It will all be over very soon."

Manta ran ahead, panting slightly and cursing. "Damn! I thought for sure it was this way.... Shizuka? Can you track his mana?"

Shizuka charged a small amount of firyoku into her hand and thied to feel a trace of another source. After a little bit, she found two sources: one powerful and the other slowly draining. With a bad feeling of which sources were allied and against them, Shizuka quickened her pace towards the other firyoku.
