I want to get Haunted. By Kelley Armstrong. It's the fifth book in the Women of the Otherworld series, which is one of my favorite series, ever. I think I like Kelley Armstrong better than Tamora Pierce, and Tamora Pierce is the author that got me interested in fantasy books. I can't wait until I can read Haunted! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! I'm too hyper right now. And I haven't even eaten much sugar today. I blame the fact that I read a very funny part in the book I'm currentyl reading. Multiple times. And I laughed a lot. Which doe stend to get me hyper. I was having such a hard time trying to not laugh all during fifth period. I was having trouble breathing. And deep breaths didn't help me calm down. That just made me want to laugh more. I'll stop now....

That is very odd. Why didn't she just go to the guild, to request to join? People will always confuse me. So, so much. I was thinknig that on the walk home, too. And I was also thinknig about bitchy bus drivers. Which doesn't sound so random if you know why I was thinking it. Then again, it's still random. But, yeah, people still confuse me. Especially girls. Girls are so weird. Even if I am one, I don't get why they do the things they do. I heard there was a fight in the library because this one girl was supposedly staring at this other girl. So I've decided. I will never understand humans. I don't care that I am one, I'll never get them.

They're bringing Veronica Mars abck this summer! Hurray! I get to watch re-runs! Why am I happy about that? I'd much prefer to watch re-runs of some other show that I like more. Like FMA. Or Stargate SG-1. I need to see most of the episodes of that. I want the DVDs. I think I'll ask for them for my birthday. My sister really shouldn't have given me that milkshake. I had too much energy before. If any of you ever want a good novel series to read, try The Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher. It's so, so funny. In the third book, tha main character purposely poisons himself to get out of something. Such a smart, smart man, isn't he? But it's still such a funny series. I'll shut up now.

yea, that guy you talked about was a real genius poisoning himself...

anyway, veronica mars...i'll watch it this time (thank god for reruns...although i used to hate them sweatdrop ) so channel...13? at 9?

eh, im starting to miss those cat fights that made me wonder why humans were so...confusing. we had them all the time in junior high and now its all about the guys in high school and definitely more serious (referring to the stabbing a couple weeks ago)

I'm not sure if Veronica Mars'll be on at the same time as before. But it might be. I think that Harry Dresden is slightly suicidal. But so funny. I love the series ever so much. There's four books that I haven't read in it, and I bought two of them. Then the author has another series that he's just started. I can't wait to start reading that one. Eventually, I guess. Seeing as it's in hardcover right now, and I don't like buying hardcovers. I'm weird like that.

im guessing the guy that killed himself isnt the main character...but what makes it so suicidal and good? is it a mystery type book?
PostPosted: Thu May 26, 2005 5:36 pm

It's a supernatural mystery. The whole series has a different mystery in each book. And he was actually the main character, he just didn't die. I think. No, wait, he did. But he was "brought back to life" by his girlfriend, using CPR or something. I was confused at that part. Anyway, it's funny because the main character's sarcastic, cynical, and just all around funny. Then there's the perverted, sex-obsessed spirit that lives in a skull. He adds even more humor to the books. It's one of the best series ever. Well, out of the ones I've read. But the character does seem suicidal, with all the risks he takes. Even though, by all standards, he's not really.

Yeah, I don't get that, either. It was really confusing to me. But I still love these books. Also, Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series is wonderful. It's the next book in that series that I'm waiting for so much right now. Only five more days! Can't wait!

i've become so out of tune with new and great books sweatdrop i used to read books nonstop, or usually just when i thought they were good but i still read...i dont think i've finished one book since last year unless you count manga stare
PostPosted: Thu May 26, 2005 7:05 pm

I read so much. I couldn't survive school without reading. And I don't read manga as much as novel books. Novel books are more attracting to me, because they last longer. They take longer to read, and I can read them over and over again. Mangas I can read over and over again, too, but then they get boring. Though most of the books I read are kinda chick-y. Like chick flicks, but in the form of books. Except they still have action. I read three romance books and wanted to murder them all after that. They all had the exact same plot, almost. Just different characters. Though they were all by the same author. So that might be why. Other than that, I'm a fantasy addict. I don't really read other types of books, because fantasy keeps me busy. Seriously, I can recommend so many good fantasy books. I made a list of all my favorite books, a few weeks ago. Well, the ones that i have or remember, at least. And nowhere on it is Harry Potter or lord of the Rings. Oddly enough, though I've read them (well, not the last Lord of the Rings book), I seriously dislike them. Harry Potter is an okay series, but it's so not worth all the hype and obsession it gets. And the LotR books just bored me. So did The Hobbit. All of them just dragged. I couldn't even bring myself to finish them. And this one book that my teacher recommended to me, The Once and Future King, was boring, too. I prefer more fast-paced, entertaining books. And I love touches of comedy and sarcasm. Sarcasm especially. That's probably why I love The Dresden Files. (It's my current book obsession, if you haven't noticed.) It's got fight scenes, and it's got a lot of really funny parts that just make me crack up for like a whole minute. For me, that's a long time. Unless I'm nervous or stressed out or something, I don't laugh for longer than I have to. But when I'm stressed out or really nervous, I start laughnig and can't stop. Like yesterday. In Spanish class, my friend said that my nose reminded her of a rabbit nose, and I started laughing and laughing and couldn't stop. I was nervous, because I had to do a project the next period, a presentation in front of the class. That's so nerve-wracking for me, because I hate going up in front of the class. Wow, this was way, way too long. I'm stopping now.

(though that was quite a lot sweatdrop )
i see what you're saying. the best books i've read have everything in them (romance, action, comedy) for some reason i tend to read and like old fashioned books (Ursula LeGuin's earthsea series struck me as good...though i only read tombs of atuan and wizard of earthsea. i like shakespeare too)
i must admit i love nicholas sparks novels sweatdrop he does have a lot of romance and is best known for that but some of his novels (like the rescue) have some action, though it isnt fantasy style.
now i miss fantasy style books...hmm....which one did i read? *ransacks her own closet and shelves* xp i've gotten and sold so many books i dont remember much...
PostPosted: Thu May 26, 2005 7:29 pm

I tried A Wizard of Earthsea, and didn't like it. At all. I couldn't get into it much, so I couldn't returned it to the library. Yeah. I'm really picky about my books, though I like a ton. I think I had like 70 books that I liked, and that wasn't including the library books I read back in middle school. And at last count, around that same time, I had 292 books. Then I went on a couple of book shopping sprees, so you can add about 15 more to that count. And I still need 12 more. Plus two more that I haven't put on my to-get list. I love my books. I keep re-reading them all. Except for a couple that I hav en't finished yet. I have three that I started and then got distracted. I really should finish them. One of these days. Maybe when I finish all my new books.
