That'd be nice, but I might actually have more wedding-related stuff to go to. I just found out today that a friend of mine is getting married. That's the third thing I've heard on the subject of weddings in the past two weeks, but I suppose it's to be expected. June is a popular month for weddings...

A few reasons for June weddings come to mind.
*It's summer, so the couple's families are probably on their summer vacation & have the spare time to go to a wedding.
*Depending on where the couple is, the weather might be nice enough for an outdoor ceremony.
*According to an old poem, a June wedding ensures a happy marriage.
*June is the natural month for roses to bloom.
Actually, my parents were going to get married in June. Then what was probably the most unfortunate non-lethal thing happened: my mother had to have her appendix removed two days before the ceremony. They had to reschedule for the end of July. I never know whether to laugh or cry about that story...

You also have to consider that waaay back when, weddings took place outdoors, or the parties did, at least. June is that month where it's warm and rain doesn't happen as often. And since waay back when, they took baths like once a year, twice tops, June was also the earliest they could chance the wedding.
...traditionally, the bouquet was used to hide the..odor from the bride. XD

I don't know if there's an excuse for not taking a bath frequently in areas where indoor plumbing is readily available.

Well in those days i think its cus it was risky to their health due to water being so cold and how easy you could die of illness back then. But theses days ya theses no excuse for being smelly.

Yes. Back then, people would often get sick after bathing. And back then, a cold often turned into pneumonia..which was most often lethal.
So, their primitive minds came up with the following equasion:
me+bath=sickness. Sickness=death. Therefore, bath=death.
Clean is baaaaad~! mrgreen

X3 that's right...the motto for ACen (anime central convention) is "Got Soap", in reference to the congoers who don't deign to find themselves a bath in the three days. ><
