He didn't have to struggle through climbing an incredibly hot hunk of metal. And he didn't mind feeling resolute - who didn't want a little bit of resolution every now and then?
But this time, the fog embraced him, and what he saw was -
that they were gone, all of them, or they were going, at least, and here she was - the last one standing. She'd watched them all die before her eyes; her mother, her father, the one she'd promised herself to forever and ever - until the sky stopped being blue, and grass stopped being green - and rubbed noses with every night. There was nothing left, and all she wanted - needed - was death, so that she would not need to bear outliving them...and yet...
Sarviur started immediately down the stairs. He had a ghost to put out of her misery. This one would be easier, though, right?

Thean continues to descend but before that she sees limbs in the fog. They seem to be reaching toward her. Why were there so many? Did they want her to cut them off? She kept descending to get somewhere.
Thean begins to step on to the next platform and something grabs her. The ground crumbles beneath her and she falls sharply. She feels like it will go on forever but Thean slowly alights on the ground. There are glowing red orbs, just like blood and she decides to take one. She is transported back to the surface when she grabs it.
This fog, this emotion... Why did he have the desire to destroy?

The fog was thick here. Etyam paused for a moment as it swept over him carrying another memory of another time, powerful.
The memory struck a chord. Confidence surged through him, a feeling of nigh-infallibility. He felt... lucky.

One shot through the fog being's head, and it faded away to nothing.

The faces disappeared, but moments later he could see the faint shape of everything else - arms and hands especially - but only for a second.
Regardless, he would find his way through this. He took a few steps - and a hand grabbed him around the mouth. It wasn't hard to dislodge, but it was weird.

It wants to die, Sarviur thought, before leaping onto the platform. Red, red light - the faces in the fog solidified into an audience, and there was his opponent today, grief-stricken.
