"Violin," Miyuki replied thought her cheeks were tinted with pink.

She never considered herself good enough to play the flute for anyone. At least not when one compared to Lancaeriel who had been playing through her lifetime (and beyond), or Shiro who just seemed to be a natural at it.

"Right, the violin," Iorlas grinned.

Daeron tilted his head curiously at Miyuki. "Why the blush?" he asked her. "You're quite skilled, especially for how short a time you've been playing. And look at it this way ... now you've got a reason to practice more!"

"Perhaps you could practice here," Iorlas added softly. "If we can't go far without a guide, at least it won't be so tough to stay in one place all day. I mean no offense," she added, turning to Ahkshi.

The physician smiled. "D-don't worry, I c-can't stay here all d-day either," he assured her. "And r-really, Amir is doing quite well, I think, s-so I see no reason why you c-couldn't explore the c-city. You d-do know the language, after all."

"Really? I keep thinking I've been putting it on the wayside with all the magic lessons and rune projects," Miyuki murmured sheepishly.

If it weren't for Shiro and Kaito, she probably would have forgotten how to speak in Japanese completely. Fortunately, like her mother she had taken to writing her rune notes in a hodgepodge of Elvish, Japanese and English. Mainly because as her mind jumped from one thought or another she tended to switch languages.

She then added when Ahkshi told them they could explore.

"And, it would be a good chance to see which shop makes clothes, even if we can't get them right away, it would be good to look."

Iorlas giggled. "Well, you've far more skill than I have with any instrument, so to me you're skilled," she grinned. "But yes, we should see what we can find by way of tailors. And who knows what else we'll find?"

She lay Amir down on the bed and tucked the massive shirt he was wearing around him like a blanket before picking him up again.

"It's a pity Aethos and Alassëa aren't here," Daeron quipped as he and Iorlas climbed off the bed and stood up, preparing to leave. "If Alassëa would let Aethos bet on her spars, I'm sure we could pay for our stay - and our supplies - easily enough."

Ahkshi also stood, and he cocked his head curiously at Daeron's comment. "Oh?" he asked.

"Now that's a cheap shot," Miyuki resorted back before turning to Ahkshi with a mischievous grin on her face, "Alassea is a very talented quarterstaff fighter, but... she's blind, not that anyone could tell at first glance she moves just as well as a seeing person. That is why it's a cheap shot, anyone who fights against her and doesn't know her reputation is going to underestimate her, and she's already hard to fight against when you don't!"

Honestly, it was probably a bit unfair to the person her old teacher would fight against.

Ahkshi laughed heartily at the thought of the group taking advantage of people in such a way.

"It sounds interesting," he had to admit with a grin. "B-but at any rate, for now, order some c-clothes for Amir and h-have them send me the b-b-b-bill. He needs c-clothes, and as s-s-soon as possible."

Miyuki nodded at this, "Okay."

That sounded do-able for now.

"Anywhere you'd suggest?"

"Elrah, he's the one who m-makes all my c-clothes," Ahkshi replied immediately. He explained how to get there from the clinic, making sure they understood the directions, and then added, "When you c-come back here, I p-probably won't be here. I'm g-g-going to head h-h-home, g-get some rest, and s-spend s-some time with my w-wife."

He gestured towards the hallway. "In the operating room are all the s-supplies you w-will need to make m-more formula for Amir, though if you're out and you can g-get him mead, that will work as well. I'll write down d-directions to my house from here, if there's an em-m-mergency."

"Can we read your writing?" Daeron asked, his brow furrowing with concern.

"Andarien said it's the same runes as Caras Galadhon uses," Miyuki replied, "So Shiro or Andarien, or even Kaito can translate if needed."

So they should be fine.

Relief etched Ahkshi's face, and he smiled wanly. "G-good," he murmured. "It's b-been a long time since I've been this t-t-tired. But then, it's b-been a long time since I've s-s-stayed up all night."

"Don't blame us, you said you'd wake us to take a turn watching him," Daeron chuckled. "It was your choice."

"Oh, I'm n-not complaining," Ahkshi assured him with a laugh. "J-j-j-just saying."

Iorlas giggled. "Well, then we'll head out, and I guess we'll see you in the morning, then?"

Ahkshi nodded. "Unless there's an em-m-m-mergency before then," he agreed. "Enjoy exploring. And d-don't let the people g-get to you."

"We will," Miyuki assured him.

It wasn't like weird looks or even negative reactions were anything new to any of them, even if they didn't run into that sort of thing often in past travels.

"Ready Wren?" Miyuki asked since Wren had been awfully quiet during their conversation.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 19, 2013 7:14 pm

Wren had been poking her head out the door and been distracted from the conversation, but upon hearing her name she blinked at the others. "Hm?"

Iorlas giggled, and Daeron tossed a pillow at his cousin. "While you were off in dreamland, we decided to explore the city, especially since Amir needs clothes," he grinned. "Coming with us?"

Wren laughed and tossed the pillow back at him. "You bet."

Ahkshi was amused by all of them, but he wanted to go home. "Have f-fun," he told them with a grin. "I'll s-see you all t-tomorrow." And with a wave, he left.

"See you!" Miyuki waved back before hopping off the bed.

She looked over at Wren curiously.

"What was so interesting outside?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 19, 2013 8:30 pm

"Just the newness of it all," Wren grinned. "It's a new city, new people, a new culture ... everything. Aren't you curious? My curiosity is eating at me."

"Well, then, it's lucky for you that we're going out," Iorlas giggled. "Now come on, let's go."

She double checked to make sure Amir was well-wrapped and started towards the door.

The kitsune looked at Wren curiously, because on their way she had been staring at everything, and Wren knew it.

"Come on, we can go gawking on the way," she took Wren's arm and led her cousin out the door.
