Lin was the one who did the translating as very (very) few people in her family knew any elven languages.
Ryu shook his head, "I think we'll stay here a bit long to take a swim around...."
Fortunately it wasn't cold enough where things could ice over and the mers pretty much didn't feel cold the same way others idd.
"Otherwise you'll never get it out of her," Feng added, "Even with the every once in a while swims, this is more time on the surface than we're use to. A few laps will do her good."
And hopefully make her less bouncy.

Aurin nodded. No one had to translate for him, he had learned the Common Tongue during his time in the Borderlands with Rhea.
"Then we can take a few more people," he concluded. "If there are others who would like to come."
Iorlas smiled. "I'll see if Shiro and Kaito and Lancaeriel would like to come," she put in. "I'll be right back."
She headed off to find the three.

Miyuki watched as Iorlas left before making her way up to Aurin. Since now it had been more or less decided.
"Aurin," she grinned at him, "It's good to see you again, I didn't get to say hello earlier, and hello to you too Xion."

"Hello, Miyuki!" Aurin beamed at her. "it's good to see you again! How have you been?"
Xion just stared at her, suddenly very silent, and stepped back so that he was partially hidden by his father.

"I've been doing well," Miyuki replied, "It's been so long, I'm really looking forward to see the city again."
And everyone in it, but that was just a given.
"And this is my pet, Ai," she motioned to the Eevee at her feet, "And... I'm not sure... did you see my little brother Andarien yet?"

Aurin gave Ai a smile and then turned his attention back to Miyuki. "Ah, sort of. He's just there with your parents, yes? He's quite big for his age."
He had clearly been speaking with Lin and Earendil - either that, or his wife.
"But he isn't a Light Elf, even though he looks like one, is he?" he asked. "He's like you, growing in stages rather than slowly and constantly."

Miyuki nodded at this, "That's right, he grew right before we came to the Southland. We think he's eight, but it's hard to tell, because I think he's going to be quite tall."
At least so far that's what it was shaping up to be.

"It does seem so," Aurin grinned. He looked down at his son, who was peeking out from behind him. "I must say, Xion, this is the quietest I've ever seen you. What's the matter? Lost your voice?"
The boy looked up at him and shook his head, his copper hair bouncing around on his head.
Aurin nudged him out from behind him. "Then say something. She said hello to you."
Xion looked up at Miyuki. he opened his mouth to say something, but seemed to think better of it and simply shook his head.

Miyuki blinked a bit confused before looking back at Aurin.
"Is Xion easily shy?"
She never known Rhea as shy, but she knew other members of the family were.

Aurin chuckled. "Not usually. To be fair, though, this is the first time he's seen anyone who isn't an elf. Is that what's bothering you, Xion?"
Xion looked up at his father steadfastly, but he didn't answer one way or the other.
Aurin laughed, amused by his son.

"How was he with mom?" Miyuki asked.
She hadn't really expected that at all, though at least he was just shy she supposed. Miyuki didn't mind that.

"Perfectly fine," Aurin assured Miyuki. "But you see, while your mother's wings are indeed not elvish-"
"Mama sometimes has wings, too!" Xion spoke finally, his voice excited. "And she says that maybe someday I might be able to do the same thing!"
Aurin grinned. "Yes, Rhea still enjoys such things as that. So you see, wings are not a new thing for him."

"Ah...." Miyuki giggled.
Of course she hadn't actually known that about Rhea, it wasn't something that came up during Miyuki's last stay there.
"But it's good to hear you talking," Miyuki told Xion, "Do you like flying."
She motioned to the roc.

Xion's eyes began to sparkle when Miyuki asked if he liked flying, and he nodded vigorously. "Yeah!" he exclaimed enthusiastically. "Papa's training me how to fly and he says that someday I can have a roc of my own and fly everywhere! But I have to grow up a lot first because a Wing Rider has to be at least fourteen and I'm not even halfway there."
He pouted. He wanted to be a Wing Rider like his father!
Aurin grinned. "And believe it or not, it's harder to keep his sister away from the rocs than him. The only reason Rhiannon stayed behind this time was because we weren't sure if there would be enough room on the flight back with her here."
As he spoke, Iorlas returned with Lancaeriel and the nekos in tow.

"That must make things interesting," Miyuki chuckled, "So do you think she'll be waiting for you to come back then?"
Since her brother did get to go, she mused on this as she spotted Lancaeriel and the twin nekos.
"Oh! There they are!"
