She tried to catch his eyes in hers, but without any luck. So she wrapped her arms around his middle and tried to look up at him then, hoping that it was now obvious that she was trying to get his attention. "It's a little... odd... to see someone like you like that, who is usually so calm and gentle, intelligent, caring... somewhat magical-" She laughed lightly at herself when she stopped. "I mean, I could probably go on, but, uh..." she paused, her cheeks pink.━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ OUTFIT -- [ x ]

He smiled when she cut herself off and wrapped his arms around her. "Oh, do go on." He teased lightly. He settled his arms comfortably around her waist then, content in simply holding her there for a time. "And I promise you, you will understand soon." He said. "I just have to figure out the best way to explain everything." He remembered what Evanna had told him when she'd first cast her magic:
Alexander was sat in a chair, staring at nothing. His eyes were open, but he wasn't seeing. His hair was still wild and his clothes still stained, his love's blood shockingly dark among the dried mud and others, but he appeared as a statue. Nothing moved except for the tears streaming down his face. Evanna had tried to comfort him in some way, but nothing worked, he was shattered and she could not fix him. Only one thing she'd said had gotten through to him. She'd sat down directly in front of him and taken his head in her hands. "Alexander listen to me." She'd said sternly. "I don't know when she's going to come back, but when she does I doubt she'll remember this life. It will come to her, but slowly. You. cannot. rush. this." She'd said, her voice serious. "If too much is piled on her at once, it could cause extreme distress and strain on her psyche. She could snap. Let it come gradually. Are you listening?" She'd explained, pinching his face. His response was a simple blink. Evanna sighed and released him, standing up. "I'll take that as a yes." She'd said, and left him to his darkness.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

His arms were comforting and the knot in her throat slowly loosened with his words. "That's something I don't get," she answered, "What is there to explain?" She was quiet for a moment, pulling her chin back and turning her face so she rested one side on his torso. Her voice became slightly quieter. "... and I never understood why I was supposed to meet you in the first place, or know who you were... you know, when we first met? ╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander sighed lightly, resting his head on top of hers. "Everything...nothing..." He said and sighed. "Really, it's all very complicated and there's not all that much I can tell you." He closed his eyes. "But, those dreams you were telling me about...I think it would be best if, well...do not dwell on them, but do pay attention." He said, knowing he probably wasn't making much sense to her. He knew that she would start to remember, and no doubt it would help when he finally explained, but he did not want her to sit up fretting about them. He heard a window creak and opened his eyes, not bothering to move until Rasiel actually came into the room. When the fox dropped the bag, stepping out of the straps, he moved to pick it up and hand it to Danny. "We planned to visit the Nixies today, did we not?" He asked pleasantly.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Wait, don't dwell on them, but pay attention? she thought, responding, "I don't think I get what you mean." But she never got an answer, because Rasiel entered then, and she turned to him as Alexander asked her another question. At the mention of the Nixies, she looked up at him with the corners of her mouth turning up. "Oh, yes." she answered, walking over to grab the bag.━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ OUTFIT -- [ x ]

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander smiled and headed to his room with her, though it was only to grab some proper clothing before leaving her to get dressed inside while he dressed on his way to the front. He pulled his shirt on as he rounded the corner, only to hear something fall and skitter across the floor. "Oh, ag rath." He murmured, pulling the garment back off and locating the button. He sat down and took a needle and some thread out of a random drawer to sew it back on. Isn't there a superstition concerning buttons before trips? Rasiel asked. "No, running into a limping animal before a trip is bad luck, a button falling off means the garment it belongs to will come off." Alexander said. You sure that's a good idea so early in a relationship? You know how human women can be. The fox said, amusement evident in his tone. Alexander glanced up at him. "Very funny." He said, rolling his eyes, before going back to his mending. ╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

She got dressed and emerged a few minutes later, her hair pulled into a ponytail at the back of her head. She saw no sign of Alexander, and decided to look around for a minute before finding him in the front of the shop. "Ta-da. All done." she said aloud as she walked over to him and Rasiel. "Thanks again for the clothes," she said towards Rasiel, giving him a smile in thanks. Then turning back to Alexander, she asked, "What happened?" as she looked down at what he was sewing.━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ OUTFIT -- [ x ]

He set it aside to check his vest as well before standing. "I wouldn't want to lose one in the water, I always feel somewhat strange going shopping solely for buttons." He said, unbuttoning the shirt the rest of the way to pull it on. Yes, it's definitely not all the silver scissors in the area. Rasiel said, leaving the room, most likely to go sleep on Alexander's pillow.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

I thought we were visiting Nixies." She gazed down at his vest, one that to her looked quite exquisite. Her eyes fell as she looked at her own clothing, feeling a little inferior to his fashion sense. "I didn't really prepare myself..." ━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ OUTFIT -- [ x ]

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander laughed as he tied his cravat. "I suppose there is a chance of it, though it wouldn't be intended." He said, finally tucking it down inside his vest. With that he reached into a drawer and pulled out a reed flute and placed it in his pocket. "Well then." He said, offering her his arm. "Shall we, love?" he asked. It was still bright outside and warm, so he didn't doubt the Nixies were in the pond where he'd first met the youngest. Still, it wasn't a bad idea to have the flute just in case.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

She watched him pull something out of a drawer and slip it in his pocket before she saw him offer his arm. There he went again, being all gentlemen-y. She smiled and took his arm, replying, "Of course," before she stepped outside with him. As they walked she tried to recall what Nixies exactly were, and slowly a few things popped up. "The only times I've heard of a Nixie drowning a human, it's been on accident by younglings. Though, I've never seen a Nixie angered, so I suppose they could be dangerous under certain circumstances." He said thoughtfully. "But I'm rattling on. I highly doubt we'll do anything to anger them, considering how fascinated they seem to be with humans."╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
