"Thanks." Chloe called back to Jarlath. Though she didn't get it in she believed him when he said it. Although the idea of it not going through bothered her a little. 'No wondered David always freaks out about his failures.' she thought. Maybe this would help her understand her brother a little more even if she didn't make the team at all. Seeing Ada with the quaffle Chloe raced off after her going in for a steal that most likely wouldn't follow through but she had to try.

Chloe had almost scored. Ally so badly wanted them to make a goal before the Seekers ended the game. Ada was in possession of the ball, zooming back across the field in her confident, accurate way. Chloe was trying to steal but not having much luck so far. Ally approached from the side, hoping a different angle might give her the upper hand and succeed in separating ball from Chaser. Diving down, she reached out for the ball.

spaceAdalaide smiled as the two new Chasers tried and failed to steal. The pair of them weren't going to give up, clearly. That was a good sign; badgers were resilient. They needed to be; Quidditch was a tough sport. Hufflepuff needed tough players. She swooped in on the goal and shot the Quaffle towards one of the hoops, hoping it'd go in. Corabell was a good keeper, though, so anything could happen.

Dhylan stomped back in after finishing his work. Tobi seemed to have managed, and the game was in full swing once more. He flew up, standing nimbly on his broom. He watched for a few minutes, looking completely calm. He used his long fingers to gently unpin his Prefect badge, then switch it for his Captain pin. He was a busy fellow, but was lucky to have such a fantastic Vice Captain and team. ...Which only reminded him. He had to pick one of those. He ran a hand through his hair, mussing the ebony locks. Blue eyes shined brightly from underneath his hair, sparkling as if he were overtly curious. He flew around a bit, then over to a mostly remote area. "Tobi! Can I talk to you?"

He had just managed to avoid a few misplaced bludgers when he saw the return of Dhyl who was flagging him over. With a nod he flew over to his captain. "Wotcha need cap'n?" he asked curiously.

Dhylan grinned when Tobi flew over, then fluffed his hair up, as he did when he was about to launch into deep thought... when he didn't have sugar quills on hand, at any rate. "We need to pick our teammates." He gave a nod, then grinned again. It was quite exciting to be the guy in charge, wasn't it? He glanced at the others, still excitedly vying for the Quaffle and Snitch. They tumbled and danced through the air in a practiced harmony. There was a reason he loved this sport.

Tobi grinned and scratched the back of his head in a contemplative manner. He had always just waited anxiously for the announcement, he'd never actually had a hand in picking who'd be playing and who'd be reserved before. Looking over at the team he gave Dhyl and short smirk. "Would it be too much ta ask that my place as firs' line beater be secured?" He figured putting a bit of humor in the situation would loosen the older teen up. He was seventeen, not seventy! "It's gonna be a tough call cap'n, they've really been givin' they're all today." he said gesturing to the almost tag-like game of in front of him.

Dhylan nodded, then chuckled at Tobi's joke. It was good he was here, or the Captain might lose it. Once they were done, he looked over the Pitch, then slipped his whistle past his lips. He gave three sharp tweets, then smiled. "Alright team! We're ending a wee bit before time is called, so after I announce our choices, you all may chat amongst yourselves, practice, or even come pester me if you want. Now, before I read the names off this list, I would like to say that all of you did fantastic today, and that I'm very, very lucky to have you guys on my team for my last year here. I couldn't have asked for a better group." He offered a sincere smile, blue eyes shining vividly in his excitement. He next brought the clipboard up, then gave an excited twitch before reading the team. "Alright! First off, Chasers. The starters are myself, Adalaide, and Cain. The reserves are Elsbeth and Chloe. Our Beaters are, surprise surprise, Tobi and Raphael. Our Keeper this year will be Corabell. Her reserve will be Jarlath, then Alastrine. Our Seeker... Is Terren Hawthorn. Jess, you're Reserve, but not because you did bad. Don't even think that. You did fantastic. Much better than a lot of us could do, but Terren has a year of experience on you, and that may turn tables and change the game in our favor." He bit his lip, looking a bit worried that no one would like their position on the team. He glanced at Tobi, then offered a nervous smile. "If anyone has questions, feel free to ask.
