Darksol88 Aden still wasn't sure if he was truly ready for this, and was a little nervous as he walked inside the gym. But, still having a bit of determination for a change, he didn't hesitate for a second as he got to the elevator. He'd wait for Blizzard to get there himself before having it go up, a Pokeball kept firmly in his hand. I made my way to the elevator then made my way up on it. When the elevator made its way to the top, I got my way off and walked forward. Jackie was there in the bleachers, sitting there. Falkner was on the field. "Welcome back, Aden." Falkner said. "Are you prepared for battle?"

Aden found himself looking to the bleachers, a little surprised. He hadn't expected Jackie to even bother watching, unless he was forced to or something. But he didn't have time to think it over, his attention going back to Falkner. There wasn't a second wasted, and he nodded as he made his way to the field. "Yeah. My Pokemon are ready too. I'm not about to back out like this." He answered, looking to the Pokeball in his hand. He had a feeling this was going to be truly rough.

Darksol88 Aden found himself looking to the bleachers, a little surprised. He hadn't expected Jackie to even bother watching, unless he was forced to or something. But he didn't have time to think it over, his attention going back to Falkner. There wasn't a second wasted, and he nodded as he made his way to the field. "Yeah. My Pokemon are ready too. I'm not about to back out like this." He answered, looking to the Pokeball in his hand. He had a feeling this was going to be truly rough. "Then prepare yourself, Aden. You now will see what a Flying Pokemon is truly about." Falkner said. "Good luck, Aden." I said to him, walking off for the bleachers. As soon as I made my way up there, I sat down next to Jackie. "You're still sore, aren't you?" He didn't answer. "Well, fine, go ahead and mope around." "He isn't going to win this. If he barely got by me yesterday, what makes you think he's going to win against him?" Jackie spoke up. "Its all in how Aden takes in what he experiences, Jackie." I said. "I believe after yesterday, he has all he needs to get by in this battle." The referee made his way to the side of the battlefield. "This will be a battle between Aden, the challenger from Agate Village versus Falkner, the Gym Leader of Violet City! Both competitors are allowed three Pokemon in this battle. The challenger may switch Pokemon when he sees fit! The Gym Leader will not! Let the battle begin!" "I'll start off with this!" Falkner said, tossing out his Pokeball. "Dodrio!" The ball was tossed and as it landed, the Pokemon came forth." "Caaaa!" "CAAAAA!" "Caaaaaaaaa!" I looked over towards Aden. His answer to this was...?

Aden soon saw that he had every right to be nervous here. Looking at the three-headed bird, he doubted speed was going to let him eek by. Nidoran and Mareep probably couldn't take something like that easily, menacing as it was. He was going to have to slow this thing down somehow, a measure that had him getting a different ball out.
"Poliwhirl, this one's yours... here, come out!" He honestly didn't know what to expect, and could only hope he didn't have to switch too soon here.
"Whirrrrl!"

The Dodrio kicked off the ground and bolted straight for the Poliwhirl with outrageous speed. Every head started pecking away towards the Poliwhirl.

That kind of speed was what Aden feared. Mareep might've been better after all, but Poliwhirl could still have a fair bit of use. He didn't expect the sped to be quite as bad as he now saw, though, and found it a little overwhelming. But he needed to keep himself calm. "Poliwhirl, we need to start disrupting it! Try and get it off you! Icy Wind!"
Bracing himself as the rapid series of pecks hit, Poliwhirl reared back and blew a gust of chilling air right in each of the Dodrio's faces. If they wanted to be up close and personal, they could start paying for that right now.

Jump!" He shouted. With a loud caw, the three-headed bird leaped up into the air, and for a moment, its as if the bird stuck there.

"...Huh?" That had to be the oddest thing Aden's ever seen. And there was a good number of things that could've been considered odd until now. He was going to have to try and clip that thing when it got lower. As it was, it was too high up to hit reliably. "Poliwhirl, ready yourself. We'll have to strike when it does!" He called.
The air around Poliwhirl began to grow cold again, having a good idea of what Aden was wanting here.

He was going to have to try and clip that thing when it got lower. As it was, it was too high up to hit reliably. "Poliwhirl, ready yourself. We'll have to strike when it does!" He called. The air around Poliwhirl began to grow cold again, having a good idea of what Aden was wanting here. "Dodrio! Go!" The Dodrio finally came down and it was coming down fast head first. It then flipped over and started down, to stomp down upon the Poliwhirl.

True to form, his Poliwhirl fell backwards, waiting for the Dodrio to get over him before firing the chilling beam. Yeah, it could stomp down if it wanted to, but like hell would such a thing be taken lying down.

As the Dodrio stomped, it took the powerful Ice attack, getting blasted off and hitting the ground hard from the attack. "Dodrio!" Falkner spoke up. The Dodrio swerved on the ground a bit then managed to get back up right, only to find it was frozen a good portion, to which each of the Dodrio's heads cawed at shock, disgust, and anger respectively. The body shook off what there was of the icy shell then looked back at the Poliwhirl. "Ice attacks. Apparently Blizzard had rubbed off a bit too much on you. Dodrio. Dodrio! Agility!" The Dodrio shook then darted off. Its speed was outrageous to say the least. It barely registered as a blur right at the moment.

"Why does everyone think I got that from him?" Aden asked, looking at Blizzard once before deciding to shut up on the subject. Though a lot of it was the result of training that Poliwhirl, he probably wouldn't have thought of it except for... yeah. "...Dumb question- aaah!"
The expression on his face immediately changed to one that'd convey his thoughts quite well. Crap has just hit the fan. There was no way Poliwhirl would be able to hit that thing now. Something had to cripple that Dodrio, slow it down. "Poliwhirl, I don't think you can match its speed right now. Here, come back." Quickly, he was recalled as Aden got another ball out.
"Let's try this! Mareep!" In his place, a sheep would come. "So much for avoiding that switch so early... oh well. Mareep, build up everything you can!"
Not even seeing the blur that Dodrio was right now, she was quick to comply. But why wasn't there anything else out?

Suddenly he realized that his options got limited in a hurry with an electric type out on the field, but on the flip side of the coin, perhaps not. That must have been the Pokemon that Aden recently got, or so he thought. "Dodrio! Aerial Ace!" "CAAAAAA!!!!" The heads unanimously cawed. With a bit of a leap, the Fearow came down in a flash to strike down the Mareep.

The Dodrio made its way back up, but it was twitching kind of badly. The Paralysis was starting to take its toll on the bird. "C-c-c-C-cAAAA" "Try to fight through it! Use Fury Attack!" Falkner spoke up. The bird started to make its way to the Mareep, of course at a slower pace, but it didn't make the Fury Attack any less of an issue as the Dodrio started to peck away with all three heads.
