Nemo stood off to the side of the main hall, watching others enter in pairs and large groups. It was intriguing, seeing so many students gathered in one spot when he hardly ever say half of them on any given day. At first he was a little nervous, but all that passed when he saw the others. Ace had the luck of finding him early, but the bad luck of having the president with him. Before the dreamscaper had time to bolt, he was pulled into the dressing rooms and forced to done a black and white outfit more befitting the occasion.

He kept his eyes peeled for any signs that the performances were about to start as he meandered through the crowds, fingers fiddling with the lining of his jacket. It was much more fitting and longer than he was used to, but if this was what was required then he would deal with it.

It also helped that he had thoughts of the days practice to occupy him rather than the cramping conditions. Just as he had thought, Fyte had a beautiful voice. Tsukiko wasn't bad either, but he couldn't help shake the awkwardness emanating from her that curbed the attractive atmosphere. He wished them luck before staff members had bustled him away so the girls could get ready.

Striding confidently down the narrow hallway, Kat stopped at each of the doors to tell each performer when they would be on. Clipboard in hand, she marked off her list of things to do before the show began.

"You guys are on in about ten minutes," she told Tsukiko and Fyte as she brushed by with her bright red hair flowing like liquid fire behind her.

Being the director for the entertainment, Katanna had worked herself raw over the last couple weeks. It was just a stroke of luck/genius that students had volunteered to do amateur performances instead of her having to hire someone.

"Almost over," she chanted excitedly as she brushed the nonexistent lint from her black frilly dress. She wasn't one to hog the spotlight, but this seasoned theater producer loved the chances she got to revel in the excitement that proceeded a show.

"Light ninjas one and two, you set?" she asked as she pressed the headpiece into her ear slightly. Hearing a positive from the crew in the scaffolds, she nodded and continued on. "Black box crew, all set with the music and props?" Again she nodded after hearing the affirmative.

"Alright, guess it's showtime," she sighed after shaking the remainder of her nerves from her tense shoulders. Slapping a smile on her face, the red haired girl bounced onto the stage as the lights flickered on and a trumpet sounded. Rolling her eyes at the sound guys sense of humor, she smiled at the crowd that now turned to her. Grabbing the mic from its stand, Kat began her opening bit.

"Lady's and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Fifth Annual Autumn Dance!" She paused to clap and encourage the crowd to do the same. A few did the standard whistles and cheers, much to her hidden approval. If anything, she wanted to make sure everyone had a good time.

"I am your host Katanna!" Again she had to pause as the crowds cheered and made other enthusiastic noises. She was well known through the school for her behind the scenes work for many of the schools productions.

"Tonight we have several of your very own ready to perform for your dancing pleasure! So please, enjoy the food and drink and show some love for your classmates!"

Ace had gotten away from the "Men in black" As they were called by all the guys in the school as they were the ones who would drag those without outfits such as Nemo into a dressing room and change them, the president tried but Ace used his powers to escape.... for now anyways. Ace makes his way to the front of the group looking at the stage and smiles as he sees Kat walk up "He had talked to the girl in the past but he thought she hated him for starting the fight last year and damaging all her rehearsal items in an attempt to escape school security and the student security.

User ImageWhen her friend mentioned the name of her crush, Fyte turned a bright shade of pink. "Mentioning him doesn't help me calm down Tsuki… and… no, I didn't ask him to be my escort. Don't really need one anyway…" she mumbled, trying not to think about the white-haired boy. Really, if it wasn't already because of the prospect of performing, her heart was already pounding in her ears because of Nemo. Oh, why do I have to act like such a lovestruck school girl now?! Fyte kicked herself mentally, wanting to stomp this weird feeling out. Really, it could be so annoying sometimes. Still… Fyte heaved a sigh, which helped to calm her down a bit. "There won't be any juicy details, but I'll tell you whatever happens tonight tomorrow, alright?" Grabbing her friend in a big hug, she grinned. "Let's knock 'em dead and break a leg, partner."

Tsukiko just smiled and hugged her friend tightly. "I'm so jealous of you. The boy you like is here. Dance with him at least once.....please for me...your fan boys showed up. I'm sure you won't spend a minute alone." Looking out the curtaint slit she could see they where ready for them. Tsukiko smiled softy and took Fyte's hand. "Deep breath in, now 5, 4, 3, 2, 1." As soon as she said one she slowly brought them on stage. Each of them had a mike head set that Tsukiko had set up herself to look like jewelry and cloth. Letting the spotlight hit her, it was on with the show. "Good evening everyone. Our first number is call For Good, by the popular Broadway show Wicked. It tells the story of the Witches of Oz." She nodded to the music master. "We'd like to dedicate this song to the senior class." Giving Fyte's hand a tight squeeze she smiled soft at her as she waited for the music to start. "I'm limited......Just look at me....I'm limited. And just look at you, you could do all I couldn't do, Glinda. So now it's up to you...For both of us.. Now it's up to you..." Tsukiko sang looking at Fyte, she was really singing with her best friend. This school had changed her, and she didn't know if it was for the better, but that didn't matter.

"First off we have a double trouble duo. Give it up for Tsukiko and Fyte!" Katanna cried as she urged the crowd to begin clapping. As she saw the two work their way onto the stage, she backed up and to the right so that they had the area to themselves.

Clicking her mic off, she gave the lights crew the thumbs up. At the same time the music was qued, the lights turned a soft blue around the singers. The rest of the crowd was put in darkness to better enhance the stage presence.

"Alright, so the first act is up. Make sure that that sound board kid is ready when they finish," she whispered into her headset.

Ace had yawned and turned around to go look for either food, the men in black to make sure they couldn't catch him and, his date. "Hmmm, wonder how things went after she was hauled off by that group of girls. Well I see a couple of them around with their own dates, maybe she decided not to come or just do security checks outside." Ace says as he gets to the food table.

User ImageSmoothing out the nonexistent wrinkles in her skirt, Alessa took a deep breath. Alright, you can do this. It's what Megan and Keri and the rest of the girls spent hours working to achieve. It's not like they made you look like a fool for the whole school to laugh at. Tugging at the hem of her skirt, she grumbled to herself, "I just wish they could've chosen a dress that wasn't so pouffy…" Heading inside the gym, she stashed her sword in a locker, just in case anything went horribly wrong tonight. Gathering up her nerves, she stepped inside of the hall, where the party had already started. Alessa could see some of the other committee members milling around, enjoying the first of the student performances. Sweeping her gaze around the room, she spotted her date near the food. Typical… she thought, moving closer until she was right beside him. "Don't laugh. I swear, they picked out the dress, not me." She mumbled, her cheeks already a faint pink.

Ace turns and blushes as he sees Alessa "Wow" Is all he said before he hugged her "You look amazing, I am sorry for not being dressed up as well, but they are giving everyone the same suits and I wanted to make sure you would be able to find me.... I am so glad you came to the dance with me Alessa." Ace says with a smile and holds her tightly "I hope you can forgive me for being so upfront, I know you hate when I get too close as it embarrasses you so much."

User ImageShe made a face at the mention of her 'fanboys,' muttering something about how she couldn't understand their thinking. Still, all of those worries disappeared when Tsukiko lead them into the spotlight. Taking a deep breath, she began to sing where her friend left off.

I've heard it said… that people come into our lives for a reason… bringing something we must learn, and we are lead to those who help us most to grow if we let them… and we help them in return. Well I don't know if I believe that's true… but I know I'm who I am today, because I knew you…
Like a comet pulled from orbit, as it passes a sun, like a stream that meets a boulder halfway through the wood, who can say if I've been changed for the better. But, because I knew you… I have been changed for good…

Tsukiko stood there waiting for her time to sing. Picking up in the spot she was suppose to. She saw a glimpse of blond hair in the crowd and sang directly to him. She loved Ryo she really did, she just wished he understood that no matter what she loved him.

"It well may be. That we will never meet again. In this lifetime
So let me say before we part.So much of me. Is made of what I learned from you. You'll be with me like a hand print on my heart. And now whatever way our stories end. I know you have re-written mine. By being my friend..."

Ryo had changed her whole life just by living. He had been there for her when the whole world had left her for dead. He looked past her faults time and time again, even coming to love her more for all of them. What had she done for him, absolutely nothing. Tsukiko didn't deserve him as a friend, and she knew it. At some point he had fallen in love with her, and she just couldn't feel the same. It wasn't right for her to lead him on, but how she wish shed could fall in love with him to make his pain go away. He had left the biggest impact on her life ever, just by being her friend.

Like a ship blown from its mooring, By a wind off the sea, Like a seed dropped by a skybird in a distant wood.Who can say if I've been changed for the better?......But because I knew you....I have been changed for good...."

Thanks to Ryo she had been changed for good.

"And just to clear the air, I ask forgiveness, For the things I've done you blame me for."

She asked forgiveness from a lot of people. From Ryo because she ruin his life, from Nemo because she was stupid. She had just wanted to make things work out for everyone. Sadly Tsukiko know knew her fate was to be alone forever. So much good she had tried to do, yet it always ended in disaster. She gave power to Palian after all, if she could take it back she could. It would kill her though, taking the witch back would kill her. Musing in the back of her head she wished it would be that simple

Nemo stood off to the side transfixed. He had watched the girls during their practice sure, but seeing them like this was quite different. The way the lights hit them, the way the music hummed thickly in the air and their voices amplified by the mics made the experience more intense.

It felt as if the dreamscaper was being dragged into their vision of the song. He wondered if there was some power at hand, but knew in an instant that wasn't so. Tsukiko and Fyte merely had a strong stage presence.

People packed in close to the stage, some dancing, others merely enjoying the performance.

The performance was going well. Katanna couldn't help patting herself on the back for her brilliance. Letting students opt to sing was far cheaper than hiring a band. So far, her gamble had paid off.

Keeping one eye on the girls from back stage, the manager scanned her clipboard. Silently she motioned to the crew on the other end of the stage to get ready with their equipment. Then she checked off on her list of performers.

"So next we got the filler crew. Then we got a solo, filler, another solo and then the finale. Great," she murmured quietly.

User ImageBut then I guess we know there's blame to share and none of it seems to matter anymore. Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes a sun like a stream that meets a boulder halfway through the wood, who can say if I've been changed for the better… I do believe I have been changed for the better. And… because I knew you… because I knew you… I have been changed… for good…

She had indeed been changed by the people she had met in the few past months. Tsukiko… Ace… Tyhe… Nemo… all of them have changed me in their own way. I'll be forever grateful for meeting them. Fyte thought to herself, suddenly so reflective. Perhaps it was the song's doing, or maybe she was just getting too into the performance. Glancing at Tsukiko, she grinned, bowing after the audience had begun to clap.

As Tsukiko sang her part she smiled and tightly held Fyte's hand. With her dress Tsukiko knew she could never pull off a bow and went with a graceful curtsey. Heading behind the stage she handed Katanna her head set. "See you in a few Boss. Going to go and enjoy myself for a while. Make sure you try to do the same before then end of the evening." With that she turned to Fyte and lead her back to the door that would lead them to the dance where the music was blasting as everyone danced before the next performance. "Don't forget go out and have a wonderful time tonight. Come find me if you need anything." With that and a playful wink Tsukiko made her exit for the dance. Walking through the crowed she got her complements and wows, even some criticism. Tsukiko expected it all, but none of it effected her.

Grabbing a glass of water she tested it, not trusting anyone here. Coming back clear she made way for a table in the back corner. Sitting down at the empty table she gazed into the crowed. Here she was, all dressed up and waiting for a prince. It didn't matter what prince, she wasn't in the mood to care. She wanted company, but she wasn't going to dragged Fyte down. Folding her hand on the table Tsukiko watched the other dance goers live it up.

Musing over things she had heard on her way to sit down. Everything for some scandal that was false, to things that would never even be possible. To all of them she was a simple water-binder. To her friends she trusted with her one secret. Her witch heritage, here in the center of science and magic powers. Everyone either feared, hated, or simply didn't believe in witches. Tsukiko loved to hear theories about how such a popular girl, could keep so much to herself.

Shaking her head she drank on her water. No one talked to her, no one even noticed her in this corner. She could sit and watch these simpler teenagers life, laugh, and love. Every couple that came past her to sneak out the back doors made her more interested. How she wanted a relationship like that. To have someone that wanted to sneak away and just be with her, to just want to gaze in her eyes and guess what she was thinking. Sappy romance that didn't exist in her life. Sighing she wanted to groan, why was she here. This was impossible, no one was going to show up and beg her to dance. Her wrist wasn't decorated with blight lovely flowers. One arm held her mother's moon band over her sleeve. Her neck held a elegant black choker. All Tsukiko wanted was a a simple flower to decorate her wrist.

"How foolish of me, this is my punishment for begging him to get me a moon flower."

A silver flower that was actually quite common, only Tsukiko gave it another name. She remembered the day she begged and begged Ryo to pick on for her, he never did. In the end she went and retrieved several. Some she decorated in a vase, while the last one, the one she wanted Ryo to give her was hidden in a book.

"This is stupid its just a stupid flower Tsukiko, you could easily go ask any guy to dance. You could act like the rest of those fools getting pregnant on the dance floor. Why must you torture yourself with brother's old fashion ways. Her brother believed that if a boy or man ever cared about a woman, then he would come after her.. After seeing their mother die the way she did, she knew her brother just didn't want to be like their father. Sighing again she wanted to get up and just leave this dance. She didn't want to truly leave Fyte to fend for herself. People made mistakes, and she didn't want something bad to happen to her friend. So she tortured herself with these silly ideas and fantasies.
