What's with this Ryzan character? And why would he not want TES turned back into himself?

Ryzan is a dark elf friend of TES and he wants to turn TES back to normal however he still looking for a spell to turn him back and if I turn TES back he will feel worthless cause their dark elf code you could say how I put it does not fill out his duty he failed in his duty you might say

Ah, I see. *Stares in to the fire for a moment.* So why can't you just "assist" him a little without him knowing. I'm sure TES wouldn't mind telling a little half-truth if he could have his body back.
