((I'm back...again. Have I told you people how much moving sucks? And to heck with my little plan. whee I won't be around much, so here it goes!))

Jamie, although feeling a little woozy still, had managed to get downstairs into the living room. Her mother and father were in the room with her (keeping an eye on her, athough both of them were pretending to attend to other tasks.) The radio was on, playing peaceful tunes. She could hear her siblings moving about upstairs. She smiled, content. Ah, how lovely this feeling of safey and peace was! Sadly...

...it wouldn't last.

It all happened so quickly. There was scarcely a moment's warning. A sudden build up of power, a crackling noise. Then the wall exploded, revealing a tall, hooded figure. She saw him smirk before he attacked. He moved fast, oh so fast. There was a flash of metal and the sound of a blade being drawn. It all happened so quickly.

A sword sliding through flesh. Blood splattering, her parents screaming, bodies hitting the floor. Jamie watched as her parents died; too weak, powerless to stop it, paralyzed and tossed aside like a broken doll. She heard her brother and sister hurrying down the stairs. She thought desprately, Don't come in here...please, stay away!

The hooded demon picked her up by the neck and lifted her in the air. Jamie heard her siblings movements just outside the door. The demon smirked again and lifted his free hand, preparing to attack as soon as the door opened. He spoke in a quiet, malevolent voice.

"Prepare to lose everything, just as I have, human. You will pay for what you did!" The door opened a crack and the demon prepared to fire. Jamie's eyes widened.

"NO!!"

Then everything went white.

((Gah...hope that made sense. What happened? You'll find out tommorow! In the meantime, please don't have one of your characters come to the rescue or anything. I think a couple of you are still fit. I swear, I hate moving.))

"Oh yeah.." she was getting more drowsy and didn't seem to be thinking striaght

"You're going to sleep. Now." He picked her up again and put her on the couch.

"I'll be nearby, if you need anything." He said, and walked out onto the balcony.

((If you're trying to save Jamie, don't, we're not supposed to.))

Ashira sighed softly in her sleep and got comfy, snuggling a pillow and murmuring softly, "Hi..kun..."

There was a burst of blinding light and Jamie burst free from the demon's grip. Inside her mind she heard a voice echoing.

Rest, little one. I will take care of this.

Who?

I will explain later. Rest, I will handle the demon. Trust me.

Jamie sighed inwardly and let herself drift away. Then another one came forward from deep inside. Although it felt like a few minutes, this lasted only a moment.

Jamie's eyes changed somehow. They looked different, colder, and much, much older. She lunged forward, arm thrust forth, hand outstreched. The demon was able to block her blow with his sword, but his blade cracked.

A chill ran down the demon's spine, a first. He had never felt fear before, not whilst he was killing others. Interesting. The girl had changed, he could feel it. "Who are you, hm? You aren't that girl I had by the neck."

She smirked. "No, I am not the littling. But really, what is the point of introducing myself if you are to die? I do not allow anyone to threaten those of my family."

"Out of pure curiosity, my dear. I take intrest in knowing these things. And...." He grinned. "I do not think you could kill me yet!"

She dodged the attack by his other sword and leapt at him, a cold smile on her face. "I am Yuumei, and I am not your dear anything." She dodged him again. "Is that truly the best you could do? You would not have stood a chance against the child, had she been fit."

The demon growled angrily. "I am far stronger than that little wench!"

"Really, now?" Yuumei vanished for a moment.

The demon spun around, searching for his foe. His blood froze in his veins when he heard her hiss in his ear.

"You cannot even hope to compare to her in power." Yuumei sliced at his neck, but her talons met only air. A cloud of smoke appeared and when it cleared away, the demon was gone.

"I will retreat...for now. However, I will return! I will avenge my bretheren's deaths!"

Yuumei sighed. Blast it. He got...away. She knelt on the floor. She cursed quietly, having had forgotten the condition Jamie was in. At least she was safe, for now.

She collapsed, just as Haruka and Kota burst through the now-unblocked door.
