Syd continued to search through her grimoire for any clues as to what being abducted Dr. Strange.

Rogue finally found a phone and dialed Profesor Xavier's cellphone.

Once the little mage left, taking her miniscule power with her, Azazel alighted on the ground gracefully and assumed his original, more powerful form. With intention, he walked to the front door, pushed it open, and entered the Sanctum.

Now to find Cat. She was nearby, he could tell. When he identified the room, he went to the door and knocked.

Cat, who was in the middle of changing into something a little more... normal... glanced up, her eyes narrowing a very little bit. Who the hell... She couldn't smell anything, so who was there? With a mental shrug, she grabbed an overlarge shirt that probably belonged to Strange himself, slipped it on over the nondescript blue-jeans (also a little too large), and started pulling her hair back into a loose knot at the back of her head. The clothing wasn't the most flattering; she normally put quite a bit of effort into her appearance, even out of costume. Right then, though, she honestly couldn't have cared less. As she wound the hair-tie around the bun, she called, "Who is it?" Her tone was sharp, irritated, and had a definite edge of suspicion to it.

"It's me," Azazel said brazenly, using his own voice. She would surely recognize it, but to make sure he added, "Azazel. Now listen," he interjected, hearing her sharp intake of breath, "I've heard what's going on and I'm not here for what you think I am. Something that can take Strange captive is a threat to me and I don't want to have to deal with it on my own. Can we talk?"

He wasn't even using his powers to influence her mind. If she agreed, it would be completely her choice and there would be no problems. He really was too kind sometimes.

Her whole body instantly went wire tight with rage, and her teeth bared themselves in a feral snarl. What the hell? Now he wanted to talk? It was too f**king late for that; too bad for him. The more rational part of her mind timidly piped up, informing her that he probably could have pulled another trick, and just the fact that he was being this straightforward probably pointed to at least SOME level of honesty. She took a deep breath, then replied, her voice tight, with a hint of that snarl lying under the words. "Sure; through the door. What the hell am I supposed to do about your problem?"

"Sheath your claws, Cat," Azazel said, laughing at her anger. "As I said, I am not here for problems. If you would care to share with me any knowledge you have, I am offering my assistance to you and your team. Of course, I require some form of assurance that I won't be betrayed in any fashion, and naturally you shall have the same."

He leaned his back against the door and placed the back of his head against it. "So, little kitty...what do you way? I'm at your service, after all." His voice dripped with what could easily be either charm or threat.

From the other side of the door came a rumbling growl that sounded more like a large wildcat than a pretty girl, followed by the sound of wood splintering. When she spoke again, the snarling, spitting quality to her voice had become even more pronounced. "What makes you think we need your help?" If he was so scared by whatever this was, how much help could he possibly be? This was aside from the fact what she really wanted from him was his death. His unnecessarily violent death, to be specific.

Azazel drew himself up and faced the door, sorely tempted to melt the door away and simply reduce her to ash. "Listen to me, woman," he said, his voice almost scarily smooth, "I'm a mage nearly on par with your Strange. I command limitless legions of undying warriors that I can summon to help you. My magic will go beyond your imagination, if you have the moxie to watch it."

He took a deep, steadying breath, and his voice was once again controlled. "You need my help, girl. I heard what you were talking about, I know your situation. So stop being so stubborn; I'm offering you my assistance with the assurance that nothing else will come of it."

At that point, Cat's foot came crashing directly through the wood of the door as neatly as most people punch through tissue paper, proposing that Azazel do something anatomically improbable to himself. Luckily, the words were more or less impossible to understand, as her voice now had the volume and sound of the average enraged Bengal tiger.

((Oooooh. You called her 'woman'. *sad, sad head-shaking*))

Alex jumped a bit and whirled her head towards the hallway. She'd been nervous and aggravated with being able to do nothing other than sit here...so her anger was up just a bit. And since her anger was up, so were her seances. That wood splintering smash may as well have been right beside her as far as her heightened hearing was concerned. And that growl...

"Watch her a moment." Alex mumbled to Steel as she stood and walked towards the source of the sound. Splintering was never a good thing by itself. Let alone a growl that could rival her own when she was angry.

Two more people ran to the scene from different directions: Rogue from one way and Sydney from the other.

Syndey Sinclair came from around the corner with her hand resting easily on the pommel of her b*****d sword. The archmage stared at Azarel and Black Cat with her mask showing her what lay before her. Azarel would undoubtedly sense Syd's power [She's just a little below Strange herself] and the holy power radiating from her enchanted blade, "Perhaps this isn't the time for... more colorful metaphors whether they are deserved or not."

When Rogue showed up, she was about to try to break up whatever was going on, but she just blinked staring at Sydney, "Did cha think of maybe picking a color for your face?"

Azazel regarded Sydney coolly. Now, this mage would perhaps be his equal, and even if she wasn't it would be too much of a hassle to fight her right now. In addition, there was Cat to talk to, and now a mutant and another woman had approached. Fighting would be an annoyance that he didn't want to deal with.

"Ladies," Azazel said, gesturing with his hand for everyone to calm down. "I'm here to speak with Cat. Failing that, I suppose I could have this conversation with someone else; likely you," he said, nodding at Sydney, "but for now I'd ask for some privacy. Please."

"Yeah," Cat growled, green eyes narrowing into murderous slits as she through the shattered remains of the door and planted her feet, "Come here and SPEAK to me, Mr. Mage." Her fingernails had extended into wicked looking claws, and her gritted teeth looked somehow sharper than they normally did. Above them, the light in the hallway shorted out with a small flash of light and a little 'pop'.

Azazel waved his hand and the door disintegrated, blowing away like so much dust on the wind. He fearlessly stepped over the threshold, saying silkily, "Black Cat, you're making a mistake here. Don't think that you have the power to beat one such as myself, and don't think that I'll make the offer of my assistance again. Think clearly, if you even can, and realize that I am offering my help to you."

To demonstrate, he extended one hand. Azazel wasn't smiling or doing anything at all but looking into Black Cat's eyes, waiting for her decision.

((Err... I'm going to let other people intervene, if they so choose. She's not really in a rational place right now.))
