Argh! I can't breathe! Freakin' smokers moved in below me and they keep their windows open all the time! I love having my window open at night, but not when their crap seeps into MY lungs! There's plenty of other carcinogens in the air, true, but few smell so bad as a stupid cig! Argh!
Fortunately, under Colorado's new smoking ordinances, I am entitled to demand that my complex move me into another unit that doesn't endanger my health. Unfortunately, I really like my current apartment, except for the new neighbors.

Hmmm... I'd argue with you, but I don't like the smell of smoke. However, it's not an illegal activity, much as so many would like to make it be. I'd much rather see my taxdollars go towards getting junkies and criminals off the street, than creating new laws asking cops to go after someone for smoking 24 feet from a door. Yes, WA state has a no smoking indoors in public places, period, law. My issue with that ~ sending people outside from the bar, where most people smoke is a bit on the ridiculous side ~ I'm good with smoking and non-smoking bars, posting them as such, but to make them all fall in to one category ~ please, don't we have bigger issues threatening our country!
Ok ~ guess I did argue that one a bit.

well, as a non-smoker and someone that really does not like the smell of smoke, I can relate with you. I could not live with smokers that close to me... I like breathing.

Well, thanks for the argument, Lil Brat. You're right, of course. It is tyrannical to forbid smoking. But it's also rather cruel to force others to suffer from their habit. I have a particular allergy to... well... just about anything that irritates my nose, but smoke in particular.
The ordinance is supposed to help ME get away from THEM, at least, in the method I propose to use it. (The office was closed today, maintenance calls only.) I hope that's not too facist of me, but I really would like to breathe again. And cool this place off!

And cool this place off! i figure that if it is illegal to smoke pot and shoot up, then why can't they also make it illegal to smoke in public? I don't like having to stay indoors all the time because I go into Anaphalaxic(however you spell it) shock whenever I breathe second hand cigarette smoke. I'd rather pass crack-heads on the street than smokers. At least crack heads are mostly only damaging themselves.
