Raquel sat up, a bit embarassed that she had been slightly tired. "Oh I'm fine. Just happy on a full stomach." She smiled awkwardly as Richard stood and stretched.
"Well, everything was delicious. And it is getting a bit nippy as well as buggy." He pulled Lorey's chair for her to stand as he himself gathered the remaining dishes.

Raquel stood as well, though hesitated, grimacing slightly. Her stomach hurt just a bit, most likey from eating so much at once. Or maybe something else... but she didn't want to think about that. She shot a look back to Damian, a bit scared, but mostly offering a soft smile. "You ready too love?" She asked, her hand resting at her turning stomach.

Lorey rose and helped Richard gather glasses and used napkins. Everything was a team effort, so Damian picked up a few things as well, and in no time at all, they were all back inside feeling full and satisfied.

"Well, I'm ready for bed!" Lorey said, throwing a dirty napkin in the trash. "I do have work tomorrow, so I can't stay up and chat."

Richard looked to her, knowing she needed her rest, though was still a bit eager to follow her. "Are you retiring alone dove?" He called lovingly as he put the last dish into the washer.

Raquel looked to them, lovingly and yearningly as she subconsciously reached for Damian's hand. She sighed contentedly, looking back to him. "Shall we retire love? I'm not too sleepy just yet, but we can go rest....unless you want to be alone..." She added, thinking of Richard's proposition to Lorey. Damian had been through a lot as well, and she felt selfish for keeping him at her beck and call. He needed sleep...even if it meant she spent a night alone.

Lorey, not thinking of any situation other than having him with her since they'd started falling asleep together, called over her shoulder before being too far away.
"Only if you're staying up late... I just have to get to sleep early. Good night everyone!"
And she disappeared down the hall to settle in, after a bath of course.

"I am full and happy. If you want to curl up, I'll tuck you in." And though he wasn't sure just what made him remember, he added, "And I can read to you or whatever you wish."
Hadn't he made that promise to her? That he would read to her, because she enjoyed his voice before sleep? Damian placed the last dish away in the washer before turning to her with soft eyes. He shouldn't have forgotten that. It was a promise, after all.

Richard smiled and nodded, saying his goodnight over his shoulder before following Lorey down the hall. "Love you go take your bath, I need a quick shower in my room...I'll meet you when I'm done alright?" He said, giving her a quick peck before disappearing into his rarely used room. as he recalled it was slightly more masculine than the ladies, with its own bathroom as well. He stripped off his clothes and started up the steamy shower head, looking forward to bed.

Raquel cocked her head, smiling sweetly at him. Whenever he gave her that look with those silvery soft eyes, he made her feel so young, and loved, and slightly awkward. She fiddled with her hands idly, returning the look, biting her lips slightly, more innocent than anything else. "If you'd like to... You don't have to..." She smiled shyly down at the floor. Only Damian could make her feel this way. He was like an escape from her pain, a wonderful oasis providing her this soft air and love in the middle of a harsh desert that had done nothing but robbed her of every last bit of innocence she possessed. "I didn't think you'd remembered..." She sighed sleepily as she leaned against the doorway.

Richard's quick shower was faster than Lorey's bath. She needed a good soak in the hot water, with her shampoo and soaps and bubbles to calm and soothe. The lavender scents were her favorite because they smelled sweet, like candy, and not overwhelming. Along with the shampoo smell, Lorey was just sweet and fresh once she was out.
She'd dried off and dressed in a tank top and bottoms for a change before crawling into bed.

He walked forward to touch her arm gently, steering her towards his room for a change since he had shelves of things to read in there, along with a king-sized bed and downy comforters to keep them warm in the air conditioning. Though the weather seemed to be turning cooler outside, Damian had allergies and usually kept the air on for the sake of his breathing.

"I did forget, I'll admit. But now that things have calmed, I think it is time you did, too. Any particular story you'd like? Anything you feel you need?"

Richard met her once he was sure she was done with her bath. He was wearing a simple T shirt and a pair of large red plaid boxers. His blond hair was slightly stringy from the dampness. He attempted to push it back with his hand but a few stray pieces kept coming undone. "You look tired love." He smiled, crawling in next to her, giving her a soft kiss.

Raquel did seem to think a moment. She paused when they passed her room, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "...Something with a happy ending?" She asked, looking up at him with large longing eyes. She really loved some fairy tales and classics that she was able to get a hold of as a child. But her favorite were love stories, independent heroines, and a happy ending. "I'll meet you there..." She smiled, pecking his lips before turning to change into a comfy pair of pajamas herself. She secretly noted how she had only asked Damian for 'a happy ending'. The irony amused her. It seemed that after so much in her life, all she could really as for was not romance, was not glory or independence... it was simply a pleasant finale. She sighed at this thought as she changed out of her jeans and into a pair of simple shorts, and a comfy button up shirt she presumed was once Damian. Most likely mixed up in the wash, but she didn't mind, loving how everything vaguely smelt like him.
In no time at all, she had rejoined him in his bedroom, the pale moonlight whitewashing everything just as it had last time she had found herself here, looking for his comfort and hold.
PostPosted: Fri May 29, 2009 9:43 pm

"Hmm, yeah, I am..." Her smallish body shimmied into a cuddle and snuggle. Having Richard there at night was such a comfort. When her mother had died, she had lost the warmth physically. And, since she quite oddly searched for warmth at night from instinct in their damp apartment, Lorey was able to actually sleep once Richard was there.
"But it's a good tired. It sounds strange, but it is."

He did appease her by finding a book he'd always kept with him in his room. It was a tale about a mouse, an unlikely hero who does save the princess and the day. Born small, and sickly, yes, but he did come out victorious...
His mother used to read it to him all the time.

Damian set the old book down upon the huge bed as he got changed as well. He just wore flannel pants and a thin white shirt, since there were enough blankets to keep anyone warm.
Just as his shirt bottom came own to his waist, Raquel came in looking as lovely and sleepy as ever.
"Alright, I do have something with a happy ending. And don't laugh, because it's something I've had since I was very young."

Richard smiled as he sighed contently, snuggling down himself, Lorey in his arms. " I understand completely...." He smiled tiredly, letting his eyes shut as he kissed her gently. "It's a wonderful feeling huh?" He cooed, sleep taking over his voice.

Raquel smiled, letting the door shut mostly behind her as she came over to the bed. "I promise," She smiled leaning up to kiss him ever so gently on the upper lip. "Though...before you start reading...I just want you to know..." She crawled up on the bed, sitting near him cross legged and serious looking. "I don't want you to worry about this...pregnancy thing..." She said softly, deterring her eyes slightly as she reached out to touch his arm. "I...I just...I honestly don't think it'd make it...even if I was pregnant..." She said a little sadly, picking at a spot on the comforter. "The doctors called...they said by the looks of things, even if I was carrying Chase's child, it wouldn't live..." She seemed a little sad. "That the chances of conceiving my own child, aren't remotely possible..." To be honest with ehrself, she could have seen this coming. After all the early on assaults and abuse she ahd had over the years, even early accidental pregnancies wouldn't have made it. She had figured she ahd been messed up in that sense but had hoped that she could have ehr own child someday at least...
She tried to give Damian a smile, hoping at least that this much would deter his worries over her. She was glad she wasn't bearing Chase's offspring, yet the down side to it all was distressing to her.

*lol so we don't have to RP her check up i mentioned*

Lorey was entering the relaxation stage where she felt detached from herself, like she were floating...
"It is. I'm not so tired that I feel awful. Sometimes I'd have to go a few days without sleep, so just being able to come to a bed at the end of the day is a dream..."
A bed, with blankets, and pillows, and Richard there to see her off to sleep. Such beautiful things to her, that she couldn't possibly overlook them. Lorey nuzzled her face into her pillow a bit more, before exhaling deeply.
"I love you, Richard."

Damian watched her carefully as she told her news. A part of him felt relieved that she would not have to have the burden of the child, but the other pitied her. Children weren't in his plan, not then. But Raquel, what did she want?

"And how do you feel about that?" he asked, sitting more upright in bed. His hand reached out to hers, and took it gently. Everything, he'd noticed, was done gently, even if he wasn't consciously trying not to break her. "Are you alright, Raquel?"

Richard smiled himself, eyes shut gently. "I love you darling...." He cooed as sleep blanketed him like a large quilt. "I love you too...."

Raquel's eyes were misty as she gripped his hand lovingly. "Yea...I'm fine..." She lied ever so slightly as she looked up at him. "I mean...it sucks you know?" She said trying to make it sound casual. "I was hoping to someday have children...but I guess it's just not going to happen." She sighed deeply, bringing her knees to a hug before the door made a slight creaking noise, followed by a small mew.
Little Trinity came waltzing, rubbing against the door then the near by table before jumping onto the bed to join the solemn couple. Raquel smiled tearily, swallowing as she picked up the little feline and coddled over her. "At least I got you Trin..." She smiled, leaning back against the head board before looking up at Damian. "And you..." She touched his face lovingly, a if thinking it would disappear from in front of her. She knew she'd be fine, despite hoe sad it amide her. She didn't want Damian fussing over her since she knew well that this was indeed no big deal compared to hr other problems...but it still hurt nonetheless...
PostPosted: Sat May 30, 2009 11:21 am

He said nothing after that. Trinity's arrival was a welcome distraction, giving him just enough time to formulate some kind of plan for the next hour or so. He'd make her comfortable, read to her, and make sure that she was alright. Simple, perhaps not easy but it would work.

Damian leaned over to kiss her neck.
"Come on, love, time to settle in for the night." Her pillows were fluffed, and he made sure to cover her feet so her toes wouldn't be cold. Only once Damia knew she was comfortable did he snuggle up to her side, and begin to read the story his mother used to read to him on nights when he was frightened.

Raquel welcomed the gentleness with a sift sigh as she got comfortable in Damian's arms. Trinity joined the couple, snuggling upon top of them both, while Raquel absent mindedly stroked her head. She became immediately engrossed in the story of the little mouse, finding it captivating and sweet. She could picture little Damian Centurion, all cozy and ready for bed, some beautiful woman, someone she'd picture as his mother, reading to him just like this. She tried her best to follow allong with his voice and the words on the page, but once her eyes became too heavy, she just let his tone envelope her. His voice was more than a great comfort to her, carrying her off deep into some dreamworld filled with noble mice and beautiful princesses.

The story was about bravery, nobility, unlikely heroes, and those villains created by heartbreak. The characters at the end might have lived happily ever after, if the reader wished it to be so, but nothing was definite.
Damian remembered every step of this story, and secretly, was shamed by it. His mother had wanted him to be like the mouse. The beautiful woman had only wished for her son to behave with nobility, which hadn't exactly happened. Not with the women of the Ball Room. Not until Raquel.

His voice dropped off once he realized the story was over, and that she was fast asleep. Even Trinity was snoozing on top of her stomach and his leg.

"Good night..." he whispered, and with a subtle snapping of his fingers, triggered the lights to turn off, sending them all into a peaceful darkness.

Daylight was just starting to break, despite being a slightly cloudy day. Rain was uncertain but a possibility. Raquel was more than content where she was tangled up n sheets and limbs, her unconscious world only lacking one thing to make it perfect/ And that one thing was snoring ever so slightly next to her, deep in his own sleep while trinity purred blissfully.

Richard, out of habit, was a bit of an early riser. He also wanted to wake before his dear Lorey to have her a surprise. So waking up as early as he could physically manage, he snuck out of bed and into the kitchen, throwing together a very intimate and enjoyable boxed lunch for Lorey. He made her a little thermos of soup, added a little fruit to the mix, and a simple sandwich, hoping she would appreciate the sentiment. To make it personal, he added a sweet Romanticism note, and threw in a lovely white daisy he picked from outside before it got too wet and dewy. He knew it must seem silly, but Lorey drove him to do silly little things like this. He rolled the top of the bag to keep it fresh, setting it on the kitchen table behind a small mug of coffee just the way she liked it, and a bit of jellied toast. He even found one of Damian's umbrellas and had it sitting ready as well, if the weather did turn for a worse for his love.
Richard smiled at his simple but sweet little area before taking a seat to enjoy his own bit of coffee and wait for Lorey to awaken.
