"I doubt that you have," Garin remarked, still not looking at her. He expected her to run at any minute. He wouldn't chase her, though, he could understand her not wanting to be around him.

Tentatively, Aquaria took Garin's hand. "C-could we please go?" She was still a little shaken up.

Garin almost jumped when she grabbed his hand again. "Huh? Okay," he said and began to continue to lead her out of the forest. "So you have no idea where you might want to go?"

"No," Aquaria replied. She thought for a moment. "Why were you so surprised that I took your hand?"

"Because, most people when they hear someone's a vampire, they run as fast as they can in the opposite direction," Garin replied. He stole a glance at Aquaria's face.

A quick grin shot across Aquaria's face. "A vampire or a creepy forest filled with unknown dangers," she said. "Personally, I'd take the vampire." At least I could fight one vampire, Aquaria thought.

"But, once I lead you out of the forest..." Garin didn't finish the thought. He understood that was going to happen. He would just have to live with that. It wasn't like he knew her very well.

"What will happen?" Aquaria asked. She began to remember something she had heard about vampires and sunlight and gasped as the memory came back. "No!"

"What!" Garin demanded, jumping and reaching for his bow. He thought something was about to attack them.

"No. But... you...can't leave the forest, can you?" Aquaria asked. She wanted to know if they could stay together.

"No, I can leave..." Garin said, a little confused. "You don't think... Oh, no, nothing real signifigant is going to happen to me if I go into the light. That's just a story." He laughed, now that he realized what was bothering her.
