Lauren felt a bit trapped. "What did he do?" she asked again. Okay, so Awen didn't want any retaliation. Could she really keep that in? "You have an understanding?" She crossed her arms waiting for an explanation.

Awen sighed a little bit. Sure she had kept the girl there but she still had to tell the truth. She really didn't want to say anything though... because Lauren might very well react in a similar way that Awen herself did to the boar.
"He... slept with someone else." She mumbled a little bit but the instantly upped the olume and clearity of her tone. "But it's okay I mean I'm fine with it now, me and Jamal talked a lot about it. It's just... two different worlds that we were used to and...er... Yeah."

Lauren was a bit angry, but not horribly so. She tried to keep her cool, "I've been there. It sucks. I had to get over it though."
Lauren shrugged. "But at least she didn't do it behind my back. I mean, I knew Fire was with Skull, hell I was kind of with him too because I had to be. If I wasn't, those other freaks would eat me alive" She laughed at herself wipeing away the tears. "The messed up s**t I had to go through. People on the streets are more animals than we are, and they don't even have the ******** DNA."
"I really want to hit Jamal." Then she looked up at Awen, "But if you don't want me to... I won't." That was hard to do.
But when Moreau came back, the things she could make him do to make Jamal's life a living hell. And no one had to know who had the ideas.
Just friends, she could wait. If the feelings weren't mutual what good is a relationship anyway? At least she didn't play along with Lauren's feelings for a while only to dump her. It was all starting to sink in even though it still stung a bit.

Awen hadn't ever heard very much about Fire and only knew this thing about Skull now. She felt a little bad for her friend...but sympathetic at the same time. She gave the blond another soft squeeze.
"I really appreciate that Lauren.... And I'm sorry to hear about the stuff that happened when you were on mainland." She smiled up at the girl. "And hey, even though we're becoming animals now I mean... sure some might eat ya alive here too... But now ya got a manta protecting you. No one's gonna hurt ya here is I can help it."

Lauren mildly accepted the hug and shrugged, "No reason to be sorry, it's over now." Or was it? Awen was the first one Lauren had feelings for since then. She had shut herself off for so long. Or at least it felt that way to her.
"Are manta's even that dangerous?" Lauren asked with a slight chuckle. "Then again, yellow mongooses aren't. I thought they were the cobra eating kind, turns out they mostly eat bugs." But that helped survive out here.
Lauren yawned tired from all the emotional drama. Her head was still swirling. All she wanted to do was curl up in the tree and snuggle with Awen. "Getting sleepy."

Awen pauses a bit and thought about her question. "You know... I'm not really sure if manta's are dangerous or what. Might ask Chubbs the next time I see him.... which by the way our camp has kind of disipated. No one's around it anymore...."
But hearing those words "Getting sleepy" she had to stop her rambling. Awen smiled a little bit and nodded. "Yeah I think it's kind of late anyway.... We should get some sleep...." Though how they would ever sleep in that tiny cramped space. Maybe Awen should get out and sleep in that...nice..er..pile of mud.

Lauren plopped down, all closed up in a tight fetal position. It was kind of cramped in there, but it was cozy and 25% of her dna wouldn't mind being caught on the bottom of a snuggle pile. The other 75% of her dna though was rather boney and like her space.
"I suppose you don't mind the rain..." Lauren said in a yawn, falling to sleep before Awen could answer.

Awen blinked as the mongoose flopped down at the bottom of the tree. Well that would make things more interesting and squishy. It prevented Awen from sitting down or anything. She was just starting to figure it out when Lauren mumble something about Awen liking the rain.
Though the manta was happy to be out of the squishy place and back into moisture Awen's true side was a little disgruntled. She felt like she just was pushed aside... but maybe Lauren just wanted Awen away because of..the crush. Lauren wasn't comfortable with her being there. But...Awen was drying under the tree and it was warmer than the outside.
As much as she likes the rain and the moisture...it was still cold by herself. Her body, though able to stand the cold, would much prefer the warmth that Lauren and her had been making. But...if Lauren wanted her out...
Careful, as she wouldn't accidently kick Lauren or trip over her or something, stepped out of the tree an back into the rain. She looked around slowly and couldn't find a comfortable sleeping place anywhere. She curled up on the ground just infront of the tree and sighed a little bit. It would have to do....
She shifted around quite a bit but couldn't get comfortable. It would be hours before Awen finally just passed out from exhaustion from the day. Before sleep a few thoughts ran through her mind Jamal had Antony, Antony had everyone on the damn island, Joli had Chubbs, Chubbs had Joli, Ambrose has his girl-what's her name, and Lauren wanted to be alone now. It all left Awen feeling sort of hollow inside...though she knew it was just a superficial hurt...It was not going to be a pleasant night...

New RP
Chana glared at the rain coming down in sheets and scooted further back into her makeshift shelter. The fallen tree trunk at her back, combined with some long branches, made a nice lean-to.
Nice as long as you didn't mind getting wet. Chana didn't mind the water so much, really. It was the sitting in the mud in wet clothes part that irked her.
So she was singing to herself, trying to drown out the constant pattering and keep herself from going mad. It had worked until she started singing "Rise and Shine."
"And G-d said to Noah/There's gonna be a floody floody..." Chana sang, wishing she'd had more sense than to start a stupid song about rain.

The rain could only keep Jamal out of the jungle for so long despite the warnings of becoming sick or hurt or some other equally nasty thing. He felt way too restless being kept under the meager protection of the beach bar and when it had warmed a little, he had promptly slipped off into the protective greenery while Antony was busy.
Now he was plodding through the damp leaves and the muck, sucking in the scent of rotting wood and the smell of rain, and finding out that the rain really wasn't as bothersome as he had thought previously. Perhaps it was because he wasn't irritated about Rex's impromptu sleepover.
As he went, he caught the sound of a voice not too far away. It was fairly loud but not so familiar that he was at ease. In fact, he tensed and his lips parted some into a silent snarl, the back of his neck tingling a bit as though trying to raise some imaginary fur. This was his territory!
He moved forward as silent as he could manage, which wasn't very silent at all being that he was a clumsy black man who was used to just shooting his opposition instead of stalking them, and peered ahead for a source of the noise.

Had the rain gotten heavier? Chana thought she could hear something falling or crashing into the undergrowth not so far away, and sung louder to compensate. Her own nose was useless, with the rain and her makeshift shelter keeping all the scents (mud, wet fur, wet dirty clothes, decomposition, etc.) from dissipating.
Next came the verse that was her current source of frustration. "It rained and it rained/For forty days and nights. It rained and it rained..." she sang, annoyance coloring her tone.

As he got closer, the singing started to make more sense, coming out as actual words instead of a garbled hum through the rain. When the volume of the song increased, he growled in annoyance. What the ******** kind of song was that anyway? Was that supposed to be music? Jamal took a moment to sigh and mope about his music collection that was off in his nice, dry duplex, laying a hand on a tree trunk as he slid beside it and peered around.
It was then that he saw the woman's form there under a rather shoddy lean-tu. She was shadowed enough to where he couldn't make out anything familiar, but he could tell it was a woman from the timbre of the voice. Hmm...
"It do seem ta be rainin', don't it?" he remarked drolly from his semi-hidden position in the foliage, flicking his whiskers about idly.

Chana's song choked off abruptly in mid-phrase at the sound of another voice. It was, for all its gruffness, familiar. Vaguely.
She took a few deep and slow breaths to calm her racing heart. It was an islander. Maybe they were as lost as she was...or maybe they knew where they were going! Either way, it seemed a good idea to speak up.
"Um...yeah." She crawled to the edge of her lean-to, trying to see who it could be through the sheets of rain and the dull green bushes. "Who's out there?" Chana asked when it became clear to her that he wasn't standing where she could see him.

"Does it matta?" came the clipped, slightly curt response before he gave a rolling chuckle and leaned forward around his leaning 'post', his claws biting briefly into the bark before he finally sauntered forward with a cocky lift to his chin.
He peered into the lean-to with an indifferent manner, but did a double-take when he realized the face was familiar. Oh ******** was that girls name?
"...yer dat 'No Hell" girl, ain't you?"

Chana tried not to show her surprise too much when the tall, black man came out from behind a tree. He was that guy from the beach late at night! Except...oh, what was his name? He'd been a good conversationalist...but she couldn't for the life of her remember his name.
"Erm...'no Hell?' Um...I guess. I mean, Jews don't believe in Hell. Not the same way Christians do..." Chana realized she was babbling and stopped, chewing on her lip nervously. She'd forgotten, for the moment, how much that hurt with a rodent's teeth.
