Feng checked the sky and sure enough the day had passed by quite quickly. Quicker than what Feng would have expected at any rate.
"My.... we were kept busy."

Aliya nodded. "To be fair," she pointed out, "it's very late summer, nearly autumn ... the days are beginning to grow shorter already."
The downside was that she had to be at the ranch at the same time no matter what, which meant that during the winter she would probably end up just about living out here.
Elberon stared at Lin expressionlessly. "Will she faint, too?" he asked.

"No, at least I don't think so," Lin blinked.
She had never known Elnara to faint, but then again she didn't think Serenity would faint neither.
"I'm sure she wouldn't faint."

"Hmm.... good point," Feng murmured, "Not that we would know. It seems random at at season and what time of day it is over here when we get here. Too bad we can't tell at least at time of day it is when we enter from the other side."

"Well, for time of day, all I can suggest is that you look at the sun or stars, whichever is out," Aliya shrugged. "As for season ... spring is warm and wet, but sunny, summer is hot and sunny, autumn is warm and dry, fading is dry and cool, winter is ... well, snow, and stirring is cool and very wet. Of course, there's the odd day in every season that's off kilter, but on the whole that pretty much sums it up."
She rose to her feet again and picked up the sword she had set aside. "We should bring these inside before we go to meet Halmir," she suggested.
Elberon looked at Lin innocently. "Then why can't you tell me?" he asked as if it were the most logical thing in the world.

Lin thought about it, and thought about it... and she couldn't really give a good reason except it was the same reason why Serenity had to go away, but he didn't know that. She frowned a bit looking up at him.
"You're just as bad as Daddy," she murmured.

Ryu nodded rising to his feet and prying his sister off of him. Feng though gleefully let go as she bounced towards the Ranch house letting her brother take in his sword.
"She has way too much energy," Ryu murmured as he picked up his sword, sneathing it before heading back in.

Aliya blinked at Ryu. "You say it like it's a bad thing," she commented, raising one eyebrow as she also started towards the house.
Elberon watched the others head off and started to follow them absently.
"And you are avoiding my question," he told Lin matter-of-factly.

Lin pouted, "I was not avoiding, I was telling it like it is."
She gave him a pouty look the kind that made her look cute without her even meaning to. Besides Lin didn't do cute, even though most would disagree.
"Elnara can change shape," she finally replied.

"It can be depending on what she has planned for the day," Ryu replied back.
Then again he didn't expect Aliya to really understand that, since he found that in some ways Aliya was quite like Feng. Which was a bit frightening to those that knew one or the other.

Aliya blinked at Ryu. "What do plans have to do with it?" she asked him curiously. "After all, no matter what you do, you need energy ..."
Elberon nodded to himself, inwardly pleased with having gotten that much out of her.
"Change shape," he murmured to himself softly. "Now that's interesting. I've not heard of that before. Then again, who knows that the limits of magic are? I can see though why you were hesitant to tell me ... there are some who would fear her for her ability." He looked at Lin seriously. "There were rumours years ago about a demon who was living in the land ... I heard it was also able to change its shape. Some people might mistake her for the demon, and she would not be very safe, I would think."

Since he said was, she assumed it was no longer living.

"Feng was the little girl who used to bait finish using herself when she was small enough," Ryu replied back drly, "She had and still does have enough enegry to get into all sorts of trouble."
Which was why he beleived she had too much energy.

Aliya giggled. "To be fair, I'm sure there are some things that you would consider trouble that Feng thinks are perfectly normal. I know I'm that way, though I still don't understand why Mum bugs me about some of it."
Elberon shrugged. "Some say it's dead, others say it's not. There have been sightings in the past several decades, so ... yes. No one knows for certain."
