Alex : Meave had to say 150k for 4 days and is pure LURK is amazing. You are on 24 hours? eek What exactly is bot? Because some browsers which has auto refreshing is also counted as botting.that auto refreshing is confusing Meave's knowledge on botting. sweatdrop

Meave: Any free time I had was on Gaia. And botting is using anything at all that manipulates your computer while you are not physically there.

Alex: Doesn't matter if you made a million. You didn't take deliberate advantage of the glitch. You simply were online. ^^ (If you were sitting there hitting F5 every second for eight hours at a time, then...it was nice knowing you as Unknown Variable.)

ah, the announcement said the 9th? *scratches head* well, okay. the 9th does make sense, because people have been posting about the glitch since the 7th, but the rampant inflation really started (well, blew up) on the 9th.
yeah, alex, it sounds like you're safe, as long as you're not botting. now, if they were banning people based on how much gold they made during the glitch, then that would be unfair.

Meri: Even that wouldn't be considered a bot. The admins determine bots by holding records of bandwidth used by each account. Only an insane amount of bandwidth would be achieved by something a human cannot do physically. As in, 1000 refreshes a second.
I'm just saying because of the amount of gold I'd earned... sweatdrop
*goes to download any PMs needed and his friendlist just in case*
If I am gone, I'll make a new character and PM you with my name, etc. so I can be back in the guild as normal.

Meave: The servers record data about your activity. They don't see the color of the shirt you're wearing, but rather the timestamp of any clicks and posts and things like that. ^^ You leave...electronic fingerprints in Gaia every time you're online here, basically.

Meri: Actually, I don't think it's possible to record every little click or refresh you make on Gaia...
Hrm... I'm thinking no on that account, because there'd be so much information, the servers would definately fry from all of it. That's if it's even possible... I mean... They probably could track which threads you've accessed, but not each and every time you accessed them. *ponder*

Alex: I stand corrected. I was just told they can track refresh rates, and I thought that meant keeping count of each interaction with Gaia's servers.
*blarrr* I hate Fridays. I loathe Fridays. @_@ Give me my Fri-night! NOWWWWW! *continues working on her week-end billing*

Meri: So they can track refresh rates? Hrm... While it might not be much, I did refresh topics a ton while waiting for responses. Not feverishly, however.
Now I'm near convinced I'm going to be banned. >>;;;;
Well, I'll just have to go pick out a good name right now. 3nodding
