Oh my god, after a while of browsing on Bulbapedia I discovered an awesome move set that legit works. I'm hesitant to give it away, but at the same time I'm super excited and it's hard not to say.
In an unrelated, and slightly less exciting realization, I decided I'll start working up BP in my HeartGold, and find a way to trade Tropius from my Diamond, to somebody else's game, back to me, except in HG. Then I'll teach it Outrage, and through that same process, get it back to Diamond.
