I bet there'll be an event match called "Mallet Bros." or something with Dedede and the Ice Climbers.

Speaking of the Ice Climbers, do you think their footstool jump will do damage because of their sharp footed shoes?

Me too. I'm hoping we get him and Luigi soon.

Ouch. That brings new meaning to getting "spiked".

But I'm more worried about if they both will jump off of you or not. If not, it'll be almost useless for recovery with them.

I hope they both do. Maybe they both do, and have little knock down, while doing small amounts of damage.

Makes sense. Or maybe when one jumps, the other hooks onto them.

Also, you got reply number 8600 *confetti*

Maybe the first one jumps on and does damage, not moving the person getting jumped, and then the follower does the bouncing, jumping higher than the first, and then you can do the special+up or the side+special.

Or maybe they would still be close enough if one of them footstooled and the other didn't.

Wooo.

That would be pretty interesting. It would leave you wide open in a 4 player free-for-all though.

Maybe. There recovery is pretty insane though, so they shouldn't have a problem getting back to the stage regardless.

Ecstatic are we? xd

All I've gotta say is that I'm glad that they've pushed back the release of the game, because now we can really b***h if there's glitches (damn you chain grabbers and Wave dashers!!) they've had since melee came out like, what, 6 years? I swear there'd better not be so many glitches...

I'm honestly not looking foward to this game. Only difference I see with this one is that the characters look better and that theres more levels and more characters. If this one doesnt have online then I don't see the point in getting it.

I mean theres not much point in getting a multiplayer game if you've no one who plays videogames.

The first part of your post is a bit of a generalization, eh? The game is a full-fledged sequel which has the most robust content of any fighter to date. Brawl will feature an online component (though it's horribly broken and will contain lag according to Sakurai himself) and people still play Melee till this day.

I don't know about you but I have plenty of good folks to brawl with (pun unintended) and it'll be the greatest Wii multiplayer experience for sure.

xd
Dude wasnt that on Page one?

Horribly broken?
How the ******** sure, he did admit lag but
1. At least he didn't lie to us.
2. So what. It'd be impossible to have no lag for a game like Brawl.
3. His example was America to Japan. I'm sure if your on the same continent it should be a fine frame rate (not perfect but fine).

I wasn't referring the entire problem to rely on lag, but because of friend codes and no voice chat as well. As far as I'm concerned, I don't think the "instant-message panel" will qualify as anything remotely close to communication. Also, user-names won't be displayed as it alerts security to Nintendo. So the entire concept is broken at heart because it'll feel as if you are competing against computerized bots instead of real people. I don't see how anyone could defend the online portion of Brawl.

And it was nice that he admitted the problem early on...but that doesn't help mitigate our concerns. The fact that he revealed that is odd and the problem will always be inevitable (unless the delay had something to do with it). Mario Strikers Charged was mentioned by Reggie Fils Aime that it wouldn't have lag within regions, yet matches are dropping at a frustrating constant rate.

Is "horribly broken" to far-fetched for you? How about underwhelming?

So unless you can talk to them, it's like playing a bot? Your entire statement is full of crap.
You've obviously not logged many hours on Melee. The AI is nothing like playing a real opponent. Real opponents have skill.
The only time user names won't be displayed is in random match-ups. If you have their friend code, it will even keep records.

Horribly broken? Our ideas of broken are very different sir. The only thing that matters is that we can fight against the world. No chat? Peh. I say let your game do the talking. He said it would lag a bit if you're connecting from the US to Japan, name a game of Brawl's size that doesn't.

I honestly don't see what there is to b***h about. We asked for online Brawls, and they gave them too us.
We asked for Sonic, and they gave him to us, too.

Falcon will be in, I can nearly guarantee.
According to some several people who spent a lot of valuable time to translate the original Smash Bros and Melee Japanese pages, Captain Falcon was his favorite character, because he is "So manly."... eek
Err, anyway, outside of that, Assist Trophies were set to appear in Melee as Assist Capsules, but the idea was cut due to the game being rushed for the Gamecube release date. A large number of the trophies in the gallery actually had attack animations that had to be cut from when they were planning this.
Ness probably won't appear, because back when Melee was coming out Mother 3 was going to be on the N64, so they planned to trade Ness in for Lucas. Obviously That version of the game never came out, and thus we kept Ness. Seeing that Mother 3 is now out in Japan on the GBA and he plays nearly the same as Ness it's very likely that, because it had originally been their plan all along, that he's gone for good.
There was a lot of other stuff, but I can't think of it all and I don't remember where the pages were... I'll find a link soon though if anyone really wants it. (If I can remember that is. xp )
