((Yeah, I can understand that myself. I did the exact same thing in Paranormal Activity last year. But being a big movie critic myself, I can't stand a movie that has terrible acting.))

Oomizu wrinkled her nose to what Joseph said. "You sold me on spider." She was still getting over the trauma of the giant spider that spit fire and almost ate her arm. She was surprised she hadn't been havign nightmares about that... Then again, sleeping would be something needed in order to get nightmares. Oh well. She followed him to the tower and looked up. "So, what is it that's waitin for us in there?"
Haku heard the sigh coming from Soap and panicked. Had she taken too long? She watched him step out and did her best to control her blushing. She didn't really hear what he said, but once he started moving towards the door she understood. He had gotten tired of waiting. She let him down. She didn't want that. As he got to the door, she ran over to him and wrapped her arms around him from behind and put her forehead against his moist back. She was still and silent for a moment before she sighed and began speaking in a highly embarrassed tone. "Please don't be mad. It's just... I... Umm... I've......... Never... Seen a guy... Not dressed. It, umm... I was just nervous since..." She hoped he now understood why it was she seemed to have frozen when he first asked. Unlike everyone from her world that came here, she was still a virgin. It was kind of embarrassing, especally considering one of her best friends was Meiko who was anything but one.

((The guy playing the crazy German doctor was a pretty good actor, I thought. He was definitely my favorite character in the whole movie, even if the character did make some pretty dumb decisions near the end.
And I'll stop cluttering up the role playing with talk on this freaky a** movie, now. razz ))

Soap felt Haku wrap her arms around him, and he just laughed a bit. "It's fine. I'm not mad, actually. At the very least, you showed a little more guts then most soldiers do on the front lines of a battlefield. I guess it was just because I had a funny way of confessing.." He told her. He couldn't believe himself. Nearly getting trapped inside a sinking tanker in the atlantic, getting shot by a russian arms dealer, being betrayed by his commanding officer, and getting stabbed in the chest. All that, and he was nervous now?! All he did was place his hands over hers.
Joseph looked to the top of the tower, and recalled the time before the Tower of Latria was so dark. "The Tower of Latria. The holiest place in Boletaria. The monks recited at the top of the tower, and any who ascended the tower was considered to be a martyr. Mostly because the staircase is thin without any railings. One slip, and you would fall crashing to the bottom. The old monk, basically the highest of the order, sealed the tower and did his best to protect the other monks from the ferocity of the demons. However, he borrowed the power of the demon's souls. For those who take in so much corruption will eventually become corrupted themselves." He told her, looking back down.

((Was that Nixon I saw? XD I want that game now! I've never seen that movie... Then again, if it's remotely scary, I may not want to see it. Nightmare on Elm Street was certainly enough for me. sweatdrop ))
Haku was relieved to know he wasn't upset with her having been such a coward. After all, she didn't tell him that another part of her reluctance was that she liked him enough to feel her stomach do back flips anytime he asked her to do anything. One thing he said made her curious though. She lifted her head off of his head and tilted her head slightly. "Confessing? What would you need to confess?"
Oomizu looked to Joseph as he spoke before she looked up again, silent as she thought for a moment. "If... He is not too far past the point... it may be possible for me to purify him and cleanse his soul of the demonic power corrupting him without killing him, but..." She turned to Joseph with a stern and serious expression. "There are no promises, especially since I don't know how long he has been corrupted. If he's fallen for hte power of the demons, then there's no hope for him..."

This was the part where Soap began to choke up. That and Haku was literally pressing up against his bare back didn't help. "Well...The thing is... Uh.. I've been enjoying the time we've had together, and maybe.... I dunno...... perhaps, if it's not too much trouble in asking... maybe we could continue spending time together... Perhaps being a little more then just teacher and student, if you understand what i'm saying.," He told her, trying to say it the best way he could.
Joseph just started walking towards the stairs, not caring whether or not the old monk could be saved. "It doesn't matter if he can be purified or not. We need the soul of an archdemon, and he has one. These demons destroyed my home, killed most of my friends, and possibly even my one love. I'm not going to be satisfied if I just purify the demon." He told her as he began to naigate the long and narrow stairs.

Haku could feel her heart beginning to beat faster as he began to speak. At first, she thought it was be something bad, but then it turned in a good direction very quickly. Maybe her feelings weren't as one-sided as she had thought. Maybe it was possible for some one to like her in that sort of way. A small smile tugged on her lips and she leaned her cheek against his shoulder before she nodded softly. "I... I would... really like that John..." She glanced up to his face, wondering if she was guessing right and not just taking a shot in the dark.
Oomizu suppressed the urge to sigh. She had thought maybe the monk was his friend... She needed to stop trying to figure this world out and just do as she was told. She followed him into the tower and avoided the stairs all together, though she stayed close enought o Joseph, just in case in his persuit of justice he did something stupid that caused him to fall.

Joseph continued to lead the way up the martyr's stairs, avoiding to look down. The way up would be both long and tiring. No wonder this would be considered a martyr's test. There wasn't enough room for rest, yet he still had much to go. Still, he didn't have much of a mind to go much further. He had a good home, and the demons destroyed everything. He wanted his chance to beat them back. Still, there was something he had to admit to Oomizu. "Oomizu... I'm a phantom, and much that I used to know when I was alive is slipping from my mind.." He told her, trying to get his mind off the long journey upwards.
Soap just smiled at Haku's likeness to his talking. "Good. I would have said it better, but it's hard for a member of the S.A.S to express his feelings. Anyways, do you want to get changed? I'm pretty sure that if somebody saw us like this, they'd have the wrong idea going in their head." He told her, making periodic glances to the door to make sure they weren't caught.

((>_<)) Oomizu flew along side him as he continued up. She could sense he was beginning to get tired, but there really wasn't mch she could do to assist him. She listened to what he had to say and bit her lip, not enttirely sure of what to think of what he said... So, she asked. "What do you mean, Joseph-kun? ... Are you forgetting me?" Sure, there were more important things he could probably forget, but... It would hurt much more if he did forget her. He was her older brother. He had protected her all those years and on so many countless times... If he forgot her... Then it might as well be as though she had come here for nothing.
Haku was glad that he had feelings for her. It made her feel so much more comfortable about herself, and it honestly raised her confidence quite a bit. She could tell he was getting slightly anxious, so she let go of him and took a small step back. "Actually... I really do need to shower.... Some one got beer in my hair at the bar, so I want to get it out..."

Joseph immediatly shook his head when she brought up the possibility that he was forgetting her. "No, of course not! I'm just saying that I'm forgetting what it means to be human. I can't remember what it's like to eat, drink, sleep... I can barely remember what it's like to feel another person. So, what i'm saying is that even though I can't remember what it's like to be an actual human, I may be pushing you a little too hard. And i'm sorry.." He told her, trying to focus on the stairs again.
Soap nodded at her decision. "Well, all right then. I'll be waiting outside the bathroom if you need me, all right?" He asked her as he decided to step to the door and place his handle on the knob, turning if halfway before waiting for Haku's reply.

Oomizu smiled lightly. She would hug him, but since they were currently going up a set of stairs that were very narrow and steep, she decided against it. "It's alright, brother. I don't mind too much. I'm a pretty durrable person thanks to Quasar." She laughed lightly before she spoke up again. "I'll try to be a little more vocal about being hungry or thirsty so you don't have to worry so much about my health, alright?"
Haku nodded her head lightly in response to what Soap had said about being outside. "Alright. I'll try not to take too long to wash my hair." She bit her lip lightly, wondering if she should invite him into the shower... But he was already clean and he had a towel on, so maybe he wouldn't want to.
