I wouldn't really call it an "event"... too lackluster I think.
Also just heard zOMG was taken down and isn't returning due primarily to code security concerns. Being a web developer myself, I can understand that reasoning... and since I haven't played it in a LOOOOOOONG time, I'm not that broken up about it.
Any thoughts/opinions?

I hate to be the conspiracy theorist, but honestly I think the whole MASSIVE WEBSITE BREAKING SECURITY FLAW OMG excuse was just... an excuse. I saw someone say that if it were such a huge threat to safety they wouldve taken zOMG down immediately, no deliberation, but they didn't. So I think they took it down due to the whole "cost" thing and also having fired the entire development team, and then when pressed for a reason came up with MASSIVE SAFETY FLAW just to reassure people. Though imo any company which allows a game with such a gaping security flaw to go live is not trustworthy in the first place, if it's even true.
I also sincerely doubt that they invited one of the original devs back to "look at the code" because all the ones I know of are estranged, and if they did they wouldn't spend a few days looking at the code that they themselves wrote and suddenly realise, ohay, huge flaw here. It's a totally fishy explanation on so many levels imo. But what do I know, I'm just another idiot user on this website run by a company who treat their customers like brainless sheep. 4laugh

If they're incompetent enough, I'd say it's plausible. To be honest, though, I really couldn't care less.
So, in other news, I'm moving to a new apartment soon... so much to do and not much time left to do it
