My point, Chris, is that you've been through a lot lately and you're going to get yourself in trouble if you don't slow down. I think you should at least be able to trust me that I know that when I see it.

I'm a futurist, Chris. I've always made it my business to make sure that the sun comes up tomorrow and that the world looks a bit brighter when it does. That's basically the point of all this, Chris. The future is, as the poem goes, "No country for old men." I can't pass along the reigns to anyone in my establishment, we all have the blood on our hands.
The future, and the future of the superhero establishment is in the hands of your generation. I want you to see all of this from the inside so that when it's time to take control you'll be able to steer the future where it needs to go, and if that means the end of the SHRA, that's what it means.

Well truth be told I was hoping to finish my preparations before I made this pitch, but my simulations were giving me about a twelve percent chance of you staying sane or breathing until then, so this is going to be by the seat of the pants for the first bit.
Most of what you'll be doing is shadowing me at SHIELD for the first bit to understand how we work, but we're also going to have to work on your fashion sense, social skills, and taste in cars.

I'm not Lawrence Fishburn, Chris, you can take some time to decide, but for now take that envelope.
*Points with his cigar to a manila envelope with a slight bulge in it on the table in front of him.*
Inside you'll find a few interesting papers including your pardon and immunity from prosecution for criminal breach of the SHRA, your contract with SHIELD, signing bonus, and the keys to your new car.
That's my gesture of good faith. I won't be expecting an answer until the tournament is over.
