Armelle of the Forest ... Er... Wow, I just found out something that has kind of left me sad about GA and FL's relationship... Mini Colonial FL&GA History Rant Apparently it wasn't FL who first started attacking GA. In 1939 the War of Jenkin's Ear between Spain and England was brewing and Oglethorpe received orders to "annoy the Spanish subjects of Florida by any means possible" and started causing trouble for Florida through pirates and forming anti-Florida alliances with neighboring Indian Nations.
Florida eventually became so upset with the harassment he killed two Georgians as a warning to back off. Oglethorpe used that incident to be like "Look, Georgia, he's not your friend at all! He's the bad guy!" and then later convinced GA to launch an invasion against FL to try claiming St. Augustine in 1940. Which eventually lead to the Battle of Bloody Marsh in 1942 where GA decidedly forced FL to accept a huge loss in land and established their current border.
I've been searching for a long time, but no matter how hard I look I can't find any evidence that FL made any moves to attack GA before this... Other than his treaty with GA being thwarted by Spain and England's bickering and him complaining that GA was starting to encroach on his land (which was true, actually, but FL hadn't really settled that territory so... whatevers) FL generally left GA alone and kept to his own devices. Awesome! Glad you approved of the story, Armelle. Like I said, this was what I had pictured in my head as a comic, but I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to actually draw it out. Tuaisceart Eireann I got bored and made a comic!With a horribly drawn America in it. Thankfully he's only there for 2 panels. I hate drawing him. He can't not look derpy when I draw him. That is seriously one of the funniest, cutest things ever. xd I laughed so hard I woke my mom up.
