hollywood_addict Also, on another note, does anyone know what kind of jobs offer tip money in addition to salary -- other than selling one's body? My job really sucks and gives me like 9 hours a week, and I need to make some money so I can reduce my loans to study abroad in Japan... Thanks Hollywood, I reccomend just using the quote button above posts. It makes a neater and easier to read quote as part of the php forum base that Gaia runs on. But the more acceptable tip jobs are restaurant service (not counter service, which is pretty cheesy to ask tips for, but actual waiting or bussing tables), hairdressing, bellhops, and cab drivers. The down side with tip jobs is that a slow day will earn you next to nothing, and you can also bust your a** only to get gypped by cheap tippers.

I'm really slow with gaia still (first year)... Also, what is a bellhop and next to nothing? Currently, I'm working minimum wage, for MNans, it's $6.15/hour.. do you think they'd get more hours than 9/week? Doomo arigatoo gozaimasu

Gaia's posting tools will come to you with ease after just a little. Bellhops are the guys at hotels and airports who help you with your baggage. They traditionally get tipped by how much luggage they help you with as well as how helpful they are. And by next to nothing: Here in Mass the minimum wage is something like 6.25 an hour. If you are a waiter or waitress however, your restaurant can reduce your pay to as little as 2.50 and hour or so to account for tips being part of your pay. You'll usually make just enough to make up the difference even on a bad day though. The problem is that on days where very few customers come in or you get stiffed by a couple of cheap pricks, you're earning very little. My fiance, Luna currently waits and she can make anywhere between 80$ for a good dinner shift on a friday or really busy wednesday and as little as 20$ on a bad lunch... in tips. And she busts her a**.

Grandma's are silly.
Why would you ask to go walk around downtown Chicago for a day when you know after an hour you're not going to feel up to walking around anymore? neutral
Silly.

Streamjumper Little Indigo Peppermint Elf Man, I'd make a mint off my manga. I've probably got over 300 now. sweatdrop 128... Not as much as you, but I'm getting a second bookshelf soon. sweatdrop Luna and I need another one already... a third. I don't even have a bookshelf. I have a book BIN. It's huge... and already filled. I also have 3 very VERY large piles of manga in my room. They're higher than my bed! gonk

hollywood_addict What are your majors and minors, why, and where are you all going to college? Guh. I went to school for a while. I had planned to transfer and get a teaching degree, but after much studying and stress eating my spine, I decided to just take the associates degree and try again after a few years in the "real world". So for now, I have an associates in Humanities (ugh... useless degree) and I am now working for Best Buy and hoping against hope that I'm not let go at the end of the season (despite the fact that I hate working there, I get paid well). My dream is put on hold a few years while I get some working experience under my belt. 3nodding
I have a few hobbies, of which include knitting, crocheting, drawing (see Stream's sig!), reading MUCH MUCH manga, and bumming around here on Gaia.
Umm... I also like molesting Mala. ninja And donating to Phoe. mrgreen

Skizzors I think the vs. threads are just a bit away from Sasuke vs. God. stressed I love how none of them realize just what Godzilla has been hit with and returns from. One of the more recent movies had him getting hit with a small singularity (read: tiny black hole) and still returning later on.
