~xXShadow the Wolf ChildXx~ Ayaka clings to the one called Benten and nuzzles her nose against his. The gesture was enough to make him raise his eyebrow, but the was she appeared to be mocking him reminded him on the current matter. He stood there staring back with suspicious look in his eye with his feet buried deep in the sand. He motions his tail and narrows his eyes at her seeing that there was something oddly familiar about her. " Is there a problem", he asked her in a serious tone.

"I did nothing!" she exclaimed indignantly, deepening the pout on her lips. They were replaced by a deer-in-the-headlights expression and whispered, "He's just a sensitive lil pup." Delighted giggles left the girl when she heard Shadow behind them. He was so serious! This was incredibly amusing. And I haven't done anything yet. Pffft!
"There are many problems, puppy! Which one do you want to hear?" Ayaka tilted her head back and grinned at Shadow. He looked even funnier upside down. Her hands that were locked around Benten's neck loosened, allowing her to bend even more. Bright violet eyes remained fixated on Shadow, awaiting his next response.

They widened as he tilted his head to the side speaking in an irritated silent tone," Oh I dont know. How bout the deepest one. I'm sure well understand each other better that way".

 Benten raised an eyebrow at her when she so indignantly declared her innocence. Though he didn't have to think over whether she was serious or not when she said that he was just a "sensitive lil pup", darn girl may have well as admitted it at that point. "I'm sure you didn't lass" he said with a sigh, though he kept holding onto her, even if she may have been in the wrong he wasn't about to let anyone try to hurt her. When shadow walked up to them and asked if there was a problem he gave him a wary look. "not that I know of, though interrupting two innocent love birds on the beach could definitely be considered one" he said, a bit annoyed at this situation as a whole. Ofcourse Ayaka's 'playful' way of talking didn't really help matters much. Benten grabbed onto her back and lifted her up straight again and turned a bit so she could look at Shadow from the side without bending over backwards, which couldn't have been a good idea. When Shadow replied in irritation Benten sighed again. "look Ayaka can be a bit...trying...at times, but whatever she did I can assure you she didn't mean any harm, so just relax" he said, trying to defuse the situation peacefully. After all Shadow was like half his size, so if he tried to intimidate him he'd be instantly be labeled as some generic beach bully, which Benten really didn't need. Plus he liked to avoid violence if he could.

Ayaka whined in dismay when Benten 'fixed' her position. Sure, it was inconvenient and slightly dizzying to be bent back like that, but she didn't give a single d*mn. However, it seemed like Benten was going to reach that point soon. Ayaka knew there was only so much a person could take.
The hand that rested on Benten's shoulder moved up to his snowy white hair and lightly gripped it. She childishly stuck her tongue out at the wolf pup. "What climbed up and buried itself in your arse? I didn't do anything yet!" Ayaka gave him a toothy grin and winked. Although she was in a childish state of mind, Ayaka had not abandoned her grand plans of taking Shadow's soul for herself. Except... Those grand plans weren't so grand anymore.

~xXShadow the Wolf ChildXx~ Shadow looks up at Benten with the slightest sign of fear. If what he says was true and Ayaka was only messing with him, then she's pretty damn good at it for a stalker. " What ever, I'd really appreciate it if youd stop making those faces at me", he sighed in irritation and walked away. As much as he wanted to believe Ayaka was only messing with him, he cant help but feel she has it out for him.

Benten sighed as she gripped onto his hair. It didn't hurt, but it just seemed like she was blatantly trying to use him as a shield. When she rudely commented at the boy Benten reached up and gently flicked Ayaka's forehead. "your not helping lass" he told her. He glanced back down at Benten and shrugged. "sorry laddy, she doesn't really have much self control with these kind of things. Honestly it would be easier for you to just ignore her than to try to make her stop" he said knowing that Ayaka would probably just try to harass him more now.

Ayaka flinched at the cool sensation on her forehead and whined. "I think ignoring things makes it worse!" She stuck her tongue out even farther just to spite Shadow when he turned to walk away. He didn't seem to remember her at all. Ayaka couldn't tell if that was a good thing or not. How could she get any satisfaction from killing him off if he didn't even recall anything about her!
Now there was nothing that held her interest. Well, nothing except the bundled up oni. She moved her face closer to his, purple eyes staring deeply into the oni's. Once their lips were a few millimeters apart, Ayaka opened her mouth and breathed out one word. "Bored." She immediately pulled back and pouted. People were playing and swimming. Benten and herself, on the other hand, were just standing there! Actually, Benten was doing all the standing and carrying. Ayaka wondered if he thought she was going to run away again.

Benten blushed a bit when Ayaka's eyes met his, even if they werent the emerald green he loved so much they were still beautiful. As she leaned in closer her readied himself to kiss her when suddenly she opened her mouth and breathed out 'bored' and leaned back and started pouting. Benten's eye twitched and he responded by shrugging and unceremoniously dropping her to the ground. "allright lass, don't let me stop you. If you want to go find something fun to do then go right ahead" he said with a shrug and a small sigh. If she really found him boring after everything they had gone through then maybe he just wasn't exciting enough. To be honest after everything that had happened so far Benten had gone past despair and now was just getting agitated by Ayaka. To be honest he would rather have the spiteful one than this little brat. "Aye I need a drink" he muttered walking off towards the nearby snack shop and ordering himself a tall beer. He took a sip and sighed, it wasn't like sake at all, but it had its charm. (know what? F*ck it, not even gonna try anymore.)

Out of all the things Ayaka expected to do, this wasn't one of them. She yelped upon contact with the sandy ground. Drops of tears threatened to spill from her eyes as she watched Benten walk away. Ayaka never though he would actually leave her there. Whenever she saw his back, it was him trying to protect her, not abandon her!
Ayaka's childish way of thinking concluded that Bentenwas leaving her, just like Elena had. The sadness and guilt quickly morphed into anger and resentment. It's Shadow's fault. It was always his! Her renewed feelings placed a rather dangerous expression on her face. She silently stood up and glared at the wolfpup. A single ice blue fireball appeared in her hand. With an angry yell, she flung it at Shadow's had. Once it left her palm, green flames engulfed her petite body. Ayaka was teleported to the distant side of the beach where the waves were violently slapping against the protruding rocks. She stood on a smaller but smoother rock, allowing the cold water to splash against her skin. Her occasional sniffling and hiccuping were drowned out by the sound of the sea. It gave her a sort of comfort... Knowing she couldn't be seen or heard from this area.

Halfway through his beer Benten let out a sigh and calmed down a little. "perhaps I'm not being patient enough with her." he thought downing another gulp. Immediately what she said to him when he had confessed to her came to his mind. "I'm not the sort of person people fall in love with.....You'll only grow to hate me...you'll loath my very existance!" he frowned and clutched his glass so hard it shattered. "sorry" he said to the vendor, forking over a few bucks to pay for the broken glass. Remembering all that made him feel like an a*****e. He had promised that he would be there for her no matter what, no matter how bad things seemed, and here he was storming off the first time she gets on his nerves? "ofcourse I'm an oni...I'm not suppose to think rationally" he muttered to himself, but that didn't make him feel any better, it just made him feel weak for giving into his baser nature, and then using it as an excuse. "god....this is gonna be a wonderfully stable relationship aint it?" he mentaly asked himself, letting out a chuckle. He ordered an empty shot glass and poured some of his special sake into it. The oni downed it in a single gulp to calm his nerves further and inject a little courage into himself before he set off.
He started walking back just in time to see Ayaka hurl a fire ball at shadow. Instinctively he raised up his hand and shot out a spike of ice to intercept it before it could actually hit the boy. "Ayaka what are you-" however he stopped as Ayaka teleported away. He cursed under his breath and lifted up his gourd and took a few more deep gulps of sake, figuring he'd probably need it to keep calm now, before setting off to look for her again. "Ayaka? Ayaaaakaaaaaaaaa!" he called out, having no idea where she went.(dunno. but on other news its time for Benten to step up and be the better man, with the help of grade A booze ofcourse)
